Had always wanted to visit the legendary site and did so during a recent week in Israel. Our personal, well-informed guide gave us a very interesting "lecture" as we walked through the hard-to-believe location where fact and (maybe) some exaggerated writing played a part in...More

We went to visit Masada with our guests from Chicago, one of whom was first time in Israel. The number of tourists from all over the world was enormous. It was hard waiting in line for the cable car, but once you arrive at the...More

Masada fortress is a must go when on a trip to Israel. The drive from Tel Aviv is so spectacular it’s almost part of the visit! Masada’s site is very impressive with its panoramic view over the Dead Sea and Jordan. The history of the...More

High up on a dry rock is the Masada Fortress. Can be visited via Funicular or by a walking path. If you are not up to it I recommend the former. There is an underground parking for the funicular visitors, restaurant and gift shops. Once...More

This is probably one of the most amazing things you can see in Israel. Perched atop a high outcrop is a building marvel from ancient times. The story of the Jewish zealots who defied the might of Rome only adds to the attraction.

Our group of 6 (age range 12 - 55) walked the snake path at 5.40am in order to be at the top for dawn at 6.40am. It was challenging, beautiful and most definitely worth it. Watching the sky gradually turn rosy red as you get...More

Definitely get there just before 8 am to avoid the heat and the masses of crowds. Fascinating site and worth the drive to get there. See the 7-minute film on offer.

Myself and my partner got here early in the morning (before it got to hot), and took the pathway up. It’s a long hike but well worth the effort for the experience. I would recommend waiting for the cable car for anyone carrying an injury...More
