It did look really nice but it is in fact just a replica of a town elsewhere in China so has no real history. Also very, very busy

This place is so charming. It was built only for tourists. There's a photo opp at every turn. When it gets dark it transforms into a special atmosphere. You can see a part of the Great Wall from the village and it lights up at...More

Spend time wandering around the resort, go to the top of the Great Wall, and then perhaps stay in one of the intriguing accommodations. Lovely spot.

A very nice and historic town. Full of beautiful photo-shooting places, nice restaurants, and you could visit one of the roughest sections of the Great Wall. Worth to go!

Very scenic village. Combine with a trip to the Simitai part of the Great Wall....day trip from Beijing. Plenty of good quality accommodation in the town.
