The Great Wall is one of the premier tourist attractions in the world. Still, it's a bit of a buzz kill to learn that it was all rebuilt recently. The place is well organized for tourists. It requires a fair amount of walking, but even...More

Great section- amazing history! A little “expectation vs reality”- all the pictures you see, the crowds are in fact large. Go when it’s not that hot out & wear good shoes with tread. Can be very steep in some places, gets slick when wet &...More

We were on a tour and the crowds were large but not uncomfortable. The history is wonderful. The trek up to the different pagodas/fortress can be very tiring. It didn’t help that the temp was 38C that day Be prepared to walk on very uneven...More

All the previous reviews have pretty much covered it all, except my opinion is to go in the early afternoon, and on a week day and then you might get lucky and the wall won’t be crowded. This is what we did, we took a...More

We visited the Great Wall of China on our trip. The climb was fun and exciting. I did not make it to the top but I enjoy the small climb that I did make. I learn that the easy climb was on stair #2.

Incredible, iconic views from the wall. Able to walk on wall a long way. Go early, can be crowded. Worth the lines.

The wall is located about 90 minutes from Beijing. It is about 300 stairs to the top. The day we were there it was 98 degress. Any physical conditions will make the climb difficult it not impossible. That said, it is still worth going. The...More

We were not disappointed. This wall is an amazing sight as it stretches into the distance. The highlight of our trip to walk a small section of it. The steps are a little steep in places and with the crowds you have to watch where...More

Our tickets were bought thru Viking cruises. There was a ticket center there on site. You’d need to buy both the ticket to get up as well as to use the funicular to go down. Enjoy your trip-it’s outstanding!
