The weather was not great when we visited the mount of Olives but the views of the walled city and surrounding areas were amazing.

We visited on a Friday morning and could enter most of the sites. Please take note of the Mary Magdalene Church’s visiting hours as it appears to only be open during a couple of hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There are numerous places to get...More

I passed by this site several times during my stay and it was a really interesting sight. The way the tombs are lined like soldiers facing the old city is interesting and beautiful. I am sure you will pass by it at some point.

Seeing all these Jewish burial sights was unbelievable. All on this hillside overlooking the Old City.

Yes. It may look far but actually very well doable. Take eg the Lion gate, go to Getsemaneh and directly behind Getsemaneh on the right hand side a road goes straight up to Mt Olive with the fantastic views.
