This is a national palace where the president and many diplomatic staff have meetings. But is also open for the public on specific hours. They have museums and relics everywhere.

The main building at city central square. The other one is the cathedral. Many vendors there. You don’t miss much if you’re not able to visit.

Overwhelming to see the grandeur of this palace. But put it in historical perspective and you realize it was built in a poor country by prisoners of a brutal dictator. All during WW ll.

There is a museum inside which is free to Guatemalans, but cost $6 for foreigners, who have to take a guided tour only available in Spanish. We passed on that experience, but enjoyed sitting in the square outside.

Thanks. We have been to GC already and our guide said there were English tours at 11 and 2. But we happened to be there on the day of the protest so the Palace was closed. Oh well.
