We stayed at the Copthorne, had a room overlooking the lake, and walked down to the lakeside one evening around sunset. It was late November, so the weather was warm. The mountains around the lake are beautiful, the water crustal clear. It was wonderful.
Beautiful, clear lake with mountains in the background. Amazing place to watch the sunset. There are gardens, walkways, and frisbee golf around the lake to enjoy - also a playground and coffee shops! Live entertainment each night near ice cream shop! Too beautiful to miss!
Although many visit Queenstown area for all sorts of adventure on and around the lake, it is just as worthwhile visiting just to take in the scenery and beauty of the lake.
Breathtaking views of the lake and the mountains are spectacular in every way. Take a trip on the varous boats available including the TSS Earnshaw, which is the oldets steamer in teh sourhern hemisphere I think.
