A tranquil spot above what would have been the Shepherd's fields during the time of Jesus. The church is very unassuming from the exterior but once inside it is so lovely and you want to take your time looking at the art work that so...More

This place gave me goosebumps especially when we sung some Christmas song. The acoustics were great. I love this place, the paintings inside.. the garden. Everything.

I have traveled here often. It is a church in the Shepherd's Fields. Beautiful building with some amazing paintings depicting the life of Jesus Christ. Under the main building, there is a cave. Perhaps where the shepherds kept their sheep. It is a short walk...More

this is a great place to sit back and reflect. if you are in Bethlehem you are taking in a lot of history and bringing the Bible to life. This is a great place to overlook the fields and reflect on everything you have encountered.

In addition to the church, nearby are the fields, which, when we were there in early April, were surprisingly green. There were sheep to be seen, herded by shepherds, and the city of Bethlehem off in the distance. We had a wonderful guide, arranged by...More

A tent-shaped Chapel of the angels, built at the place where the angel appeared to the shepherds and announced the birth of Jesus. Paintings in the Chapel depict the angel's announcement, the shepherds paying homage to Jesus and the shepherds celebrating the birth of Jesus....More

Best is to visit with a guide that will tell history about the church and place. I visited with pilgrimage so it was interesting to read Bible in that place. The caves next to it were used by shepperds for shelter.

This small church purports to be where the shepherds received the message of Jesus’s birth. It is a haven of peace and tranquility despite being a popular tourist attraction. It is well maintained and when compared to the Church of the Nativity, a place of...More

Worth a stop for an hour to walk the grounds and see both the caves as well as the more modern church - small but beautiful and good acoustics.
