Located just in the back of Siennas Cathedral, this place will amaze you with fantastic frescoes on the ceilings and walls. Not too many tourists even in high season. Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys early sienese renaissance.
The baptistery is part of the duomo and cathedral visit. It is attached and behind the cathedral. Worth the quick stop inside to see the beautiful artwork and font. It is small and you can walk in and out in 15 mins.

Hot tip: Buy the OPA ticket which is valid for three days in Siena. It is beautiful inside and take a seat to look up - beautiful art. Don't forget to look at the marble floors - expert inlay work done BEFORE electricity all by hand! Humbling to think people built this way…
Given a choice between the Battistero di San Giovanni and the Battistero attached to the Duomo di Firenze, I would choose this one. It is far more modest than the Duomo itself, but it is still a little gem of late medieval architecture.
