This is a church inside a church inside a church all going down deeper into the ground, it’s an amazing and very old place not a lot of people that come to Rome know about this, it’s 10 euros to go in but well worth the visit, there is also a full running natural spring water

We went by this church on a Sunday in October at around 12:30 before we headed to the Colosseum and only had a short line to get tickets for the underground. The church itself is not as spectacular as many others in Rome, but the underground and history is very interesting.

This is a church (12th century) on top of a church (4th century) on top of a temple and home (1st century). Make sure you visit the underground sites!

This is a beautiful church and place to visit. Our tour guide for the colesseum suggested a visit so we checked it out. For €10 each you can walk around the underground layers of the older basilica. It's intriguing and a pleasure to explore at your own pace without the hustle
