There weren't many store that I thought there were, I thought there would be more clothing store or other store for that matter, it is mostly condos and restaurant, and the stores on the strip are a bit high in price. Its great during the spring and summer but other season no so much.

I’ve been shopping on Queen St for over 20 years. If you stay on the west end, you get more unique stores and not as many chain stores. It’s just disappointing that a lot of the local/home grown stores are now gone. We can get chain stores at a mall, don’t need them here! However, I still do enjoy wandering and enjoying the snacks, shops & parks. Trinity-Bellwood Park is far west and a great park to walk through.

There is a good flat iron building here with a mural painted on the back wall which is well worth seeing. Also a fountain in a small parks with statues of many different dog breeds feeding the fountains from their mouths. It's cool! One lone ginger pusssy cat sits on the edge watching. Again worth seeing this very laid back area.

I stayed because I had "no" time to book anywhere else! Thank God it was only for two nights! There are "no" phones in the rooms! The staff finish their day at 11 PM, and don't return to 8 AM. There is "no" way to contact them in an emergency! I tried to use my cell to call down, but it went to an answering machine which stated that the mailbox was full, when I was trapped in my room the first morning. I had to call out the window to a passerby to tell someone in the hotel I was trapped! When they came and got me out, they offered me another room, but stated that a repairman would be up to fix the door that day! I was supposed to be out for the day, and not expected back until after 11 PM. I returned early, found out none of the promised work had been done, so I packed up and changed rooms! This one had "no" AC, and the windows were sealed, couldn't open them! No garbage can in this room, but I could get out!
The breakfast they offered as part of their package consisted of coffee and/or tea, cereal (corn flakes only), and toast. No fruit, or any other choices then what I mentioned.
I received "no" compensation for all the trouble I went through! Had there been a fire throughout the night I could have died!!

We booked on hotel.com my husband has to provide a clean urine sample for work, if we would ha e stayed here for the night he would have lost his job. I explained this to the receptionists and he did not apologise nor give a damn we said we can’t stay here. All they care about is that they’re still getting the money. I asked the receptionist (who seemed to be way too relaxed and uncaring) how to get my money back and he said hotels.com. On contacting them they advised we needed to talk to the manager then and there, no other way to get money back, we had already left Canada by this point as they ruined the city for us. If you have children or do not want to be in a place filled with the smell of marijuana do not stay here! I’m so shocked at the treatment of the service from hotels.com and west queen west.

I searched this place for this iconic building that secured one of my best photos. An incredible view that contemplates the new and the old living in Toronto. Really beautiful!

This trendy area of town is a jewel, you’ll find an eclectic mix of old and new and this should be on your checklist when visiting Toronto. Farther east is a lot of chain stores, but the west end is worth an afternoon spent meandering the neighborhood if you have the time. Lots of interesting finds, and great food.

Worth the walk when it is not too hot or too cold. Getting very trendy and expensive. You will still find some hidden gems.
