The pork pepper buns as you walk into the market from the MRT entrance are to die for. If you only go for these it is worth it.

LOTS of choices, just wish I could eat everything! Area was well lit, downside is too many tables were left with trash on it. I don’t understand why people cannot throw their trash away, it’s really not difficult.

Food in Taiwan overall will not break your wallet, however, really depending what you buy. The majority is at a good price. Most of the food in night market is affordable and good eat for a local and tourist.
