One of my first days in Taipei I decided to take a bus and hike to Elephant mountain. It was dreary out and raining a little, no one was around except a handful of locals. I was bitten by a ton of mosquito's so make...More

The climb up the MANY stairs to see the skyline of Taipei at night is no easy feat. For those who are fit enough to make it to the top, the effort is worthwhile. Fabulous view of the City.

We went up one morning with our two young girls. There are a lot of steps, but the girls managed really well, especially as I had snacks in my bag :-) But once your up, the views and the rocks are really impressive.

I walked up this beautiful pretty easy walk. It's free which is awesome compared to Taipei 101 which stung me 600twd. But both are worth doing. I want to go back at sunset if I can make it. The view at the top was amazing...More

A lot of stairs to concur and it was not too easy as the stairs are steep. Sunrise and sunset view should be nice and also need to consider the crowd and tourist crowd as well. But it is highly recommended for a short 2...More

Elephant mountain was super easy to get to from public transport and offers very good views of the city, particularly Taipei 101. It is not a difficult climb I think, but still gives you some decent exercise. Is easily worth a visit if you are...More

There are no opening times/entrance fees, you can go anytime, a headlight -as mentioned in earlier posts- is for sure a good idea for dark times.
