      Great Tour
It was a great tour of the upper loop. Mark was very knowledgeable on the park and it’s history. When it was over he shared the photos he took. He was even able to find us a pack of wolves putting the sneak on a herd of Buffalo with the spotting scope that he brought along. Very satisfied!

      Beautiful day on the water
This was an awesome way to experience Lake Yellowstone and the surrounding gorgeous vistas. Josh’s knowledge of the area, skill in giving us a quick lesson in kayaking technique and warm personality made our experience a memorable one.

      Must-do stop in Yellowstone
This is a must do in Yellowstone. We paddled out to West Thumb Geyser Basin. We also saw Arch Geyser erupt from the lake, which was amazing. Lunch and snacks were provided, and the guide was very knowledgeable. The weather was beautiful out (September 2023), and we saw several elk.

      AMAZING KAYAKING TOUR
Wow what an incredible excursion! We kayaked six miles and saw two bald eagles on the way along with a geyser that rarely erupts! Joshua was our tour guide and extremely knowledgeable about the area and provided snacks throughout the day! Would definitely recommend to anyone for great views of the lake and a wonderfully unique experience!

      Wonderful kayaking tour
We arrived early for our 8 am tour and Josh was already setting up for our tour - hot coffee and aussie bites to keep us occupied and warm. It was a nice grouping for our family. Josh gave us good information on our tour and how to paddle effectively. Weather was a little undecided but we still saw elk and bald eagles. We covered 5 miles in total and our family was thrilled with our experience. Lunch was well-received on our return. Josh was so helpful, communicative and friendly.

      Awesome Experience
My wife and I took the kayak trip on Monday September 18th. It was a little chilly in the AM but warmed up to be a beautiful day. The scenery was gorgeous, we had the lake to ourselves. The group we were with was great. Our guide Josh did a wonderful job. He was extremely knowledgeable of the Yellowstone Lake and Park as a whole. He was very personable and made the trip very enjoyable. We ended our 4 hour trip with a bag lunch on the beach that couldn’t have been nicer. I would highly recommend this trip.

Do Not BE AFRAID - it's AWESOME.
I did the 8 AM kayak tour last week. I'm 68 and none of the concerns I had about going were worth worrying about. The temperature had gotten up to about freezing by the time we left -- but I never got cold. I only had 1 pair of shoes with me (hiking shoes), and they never got wet. I had never gone 6 miles in a kayak and never kayaked at this altitude. I didn't get winded or even break a sweat. The views were stunning and totally unique from the water. Josh was extremely knowledgeable. I tried to stay within earshot of him most of the time. Excellent trip. I would recommend getting there an hour or more early and going to the West Thumb geyser basin (<10 minutes away) for sunrise and then going back afterward. It looks totally different in the morning fog, from the kayak, and with the noon sun.

      Amazing day in Yellowstone!
What a great hiking tour! We went on the Lamar Valley hike last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was a beautiful day, the other hikers were very pleasant, and our guide, Mark, was very professional and a wealth of knowledge about the area! When we arrived, he offered coffee, provided everyone with lunch and snacks, gave water, sunscreen, binoculars and backpacks to those who needed them, and off we went! Since I had not been to Yellowstone previously, I really appreciated the educational part of the hike. There was just the right amount of peaceful hiking, water/rest breaks, fun facts, and interactive discussions. We saw pronghorns, lots of bison, and even a bald eagle! What a perfect day! I highly recommend booking a tour with Yellowstone Hiking Guides and Mark!

You HAVE to Take This Tour!
Jackie was phenomenal!! She was bright, chipper, and so knowledgeable and informative! It was an all day tour but never felt it. Even during one of our stops, she sought our more information to share while we checked out the sights. Everyone on the tour was so nice, like we all were old friends. The beauty was astounding. We had never in our lives seen anything as beautiful as the falls at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. This tour was totally worth the price!!

      Highly recommend this hike
Emily Jo was knowledgeable, flexible and fun. She pointed out wildlife that we would’ve missed had we gone on our own, and also talked about various cultural and historical aspects of the land we were passing through. She altered the route of our hike at the group’s request so we could get up a bit closer (but still at a very safe distance) to watch a wolf. She was fun and easy-going and attentive to everyone in the group.

The hike exceeded our expectations because of Alex.

She is very well informed re: the geology, history, animals of Yellowstone and shared stories and her personal experiences with us.

The hike was well-paced and Alex managed the group of 14 who ranged from 10 to retirees with good humor and grace.

Following her advice, we drove 2 hours to Slough Creek the next morning to arrive at 0530 to see wolves frolicking in the water and then to the Lamar Valley and saw a grizzly grazing among bison.

Would go on any hike with her as the guide!

It was great to get away from the crowds and hike across the Lamar Valley. Most of the time we were following game tracks as Josh led us past bison herds and along the River for lunch. It was a fun day. There were only four of us on the hike, apart from Josh, and all in our 60's (or so I gathered) and the level of difficulty was appropriate for us. In addition to bison we saw pronghorns, sand hill cranes, mergansers, a bald eagle, a hawk, and wolves (in the distance). All of the gear recommended on the website was appropriate for the hike, but one thing Josh mentioned was not on their list - long pants. Since much of the time was spent walking through low scrub on narrow paths it was important to wear long pants to protect us from being scratched by the low branches. I had long pants and was glad of it. As far as Covid is concerned, Josh was careful to maintain separation distance during the hike and wear a mask when speaking to the group. Since we each had our own gear we could personally confirm that it was sanitized.

Our guide was great! Lexi took the time to know everyone in the group and was informative about the area , foliage etc. We felt the advantage of this type of tour was to be able to see an area off the beaten path - we never would have ventured that far on our own. The bonus was while we ate lunch (well supplied) an elk decided to bathe in the lake in front of us! Highly recommend this experience. My husband is 63 and I am 53 and we are in fair shape. It is doable. Go for it!

Beautiful scenery and amazing canyon views with the waterfall. Aaron was very informative but the pace was way too slow. He stopped the group every 2-3 min and with the cold weather in the morning it was hard to enjoy with our bodies not being able to warm up. The group were all able bodied and it seemed that everyone would have appreciated moving faster. It was more of a slow walk than a hike. Even so, we did thoroughly enjoy the day and we leaned many interesting facts from Aaron. The bag lunch was very fresh and tasty and was enjoyed at Clear Lake which was a nice, peaceful setting. The mud pots were a very interesting part of the tour. We did not see any wildlife on this tour but it was worthwhile to see the Canyon and Yellowstone Rim.

The Lamar Safari Hike was one of the highlights of our visit to Yellowstone. It was an incredible opportunity to get off the beaten path and get an intimate sense of the area's eco system. Josh was a super guide: very knowledgeable about the fauna and flora of the Park and surrounding region and very personable. I also appreciated his laser sharp focus on safety. I highly recommend this trip for those that want to experience the Park in its natural setting.

If you had never been to yellowstone before, like me and my wife, we highly recommend this tour. Our tour guide Alex was fun and very knowledgable of Yellowstone history. She made the trip really enjoyable, at a good pace for everyone, and she answered pretty much all the questions our group had. Overall, if you had to choose a hike from all the ones offered, I would hands down pick this one. The price is very reasonable and the 6-mile(ish) round loop gives you breathtaking views of the canyon and the falls. Many thanks to Alex for making our time in Yellowstone so memorable!

Fantastic hike! In a little over 5 miles, we saw the canyon, fumeroles and mudpots, wide open meadows, and small lakes. Our guide, Emily Jo, was so enthusiastic and fun. Many stops along the way to make it easier for less experienced hikers, but sill great hike for those who have hiked a lot. Lots of great information provided along the way, and our group was so friendly too. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time on the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone day hike with our guide, Chris. He was extremely knowledgeable and humorous and made the hike enjoyable, especially for my two sons (9 & 11). We learned a decent amount about the geology and the flora and fauna shaping the canyon region. Lunch by Ribbon Lake was gorgeous, well packaged and satisfying. Would recommend the day hikes if you are looking looking to acclimate to the park and gain some insight.

Definitely recommend if you want to escape the crowds and go off trail in Yellowstone. The change in landscape in just a 6 mile hike from canyon to mud pots to forest and meadow was really cool to see. Our guide Kim was very knowledgeable and prepared us for every possible situation which allowed for an enjoyable experience. We did get caught in a thunder storm for a few minutes but our guide was calm the whole time and told us what to do and it ended up being a learning experience. If you enjoy hiking you have to do this hike in Yellowstone it was our favorite thing we did.
