We totally loved the tour right from the start when Sway (the official photographer) briefed us on what to expect. The crew consisting of Captain (Jeremy), Tour Lead (Caden), and Ben, Jerry the swim experts helping with the Kayaks and Snorkel experience made us feel real comfortable during the entire tour. They even threw in a surprise Hula dance which was really good.! And yes, we saw Dolphins and Turtles, Flying Fish and some breathtaking scenry (land and water). Captain Jerry was stellar. He found us so many active pods of dolphins and it was really amazing to see. Sarai was an amazing tour guide. I loved talking with Kayden and Alex. Kayden gave me so many cool historical facts about the island and its culture & Alex gave me so many cool facts about the reefs and sea life. He also gave me some recommendations about where to visit on the island that is a little lesser known to tourists. Bernard the bus driver got us to and from in an incredible amount of time and safely no less. I will 100% be recommending this to all of my friends and family.Written September 24, 2024

Honestly I can't believe how many great reviews this company has. This was not what I expected. You HAD to wear flippers in the water along with your life vest & snorkel equipment. Then when they spot dolphins they rush you to hurry & JUMP into the water. There was NO ladder to get into the water slowly....only to get back onto the boat. Well, this was way too overwhelming for my 8yr old. She did not get into the water & honestly I don't blame her. It was difficult for me. They herd you into a very tight pod & therefore you are getting hit with peoples arms & flippers constantly. There is no personal space. There had to be about 50 people on our boat so it was A LOT! We made 2 stops to see the dolphins & by the 2nd stop I decided I would stay on the outskirts of the pod which I did, however, this also did cause me to miss the dolphins this go around. Although it totally makes sense why we have to stay in a tight pod, doing it with 50 people just wasn't reasonable. My daughter unfortunately never touched the water & stayed on the boat the entire time. Honestly I wouldn't have felt comfortable with her in the "pod". We then went to a 3rd spot to snorkel & do water sports. There were hardly any fish in the snorkel spot! They had 1 paddleboard that was attached to a line on the boat for people to use. Then by the time the water slide was set up we only had 15 minutes to use it. I will say it was very fun though! The last 10 minutes they let people jump off the top deck into the water which my teen enjoyed. On the way back they did a hula dance & taught everyone some hula moves. That was pretty awesome. Overall, I would not recommend this tour. I would 100% say it is worth it to pay extra for a tour company that takes smaller groups.

Aloha Lauren,
We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the hula dancing and time with our crew.
We do require everyone to wear fins and jump into the water for the swim with dolphins. Believe it or not, climbing down a ladder in fins is near impossible. On the way back into the boat, our guides remove the guests fins within the water so that you can climb up onto the boat safely without fins. But getting into the water requires a jump. This is standard with most snorkel tours. We will pass on your feedback to the management regarding the tour capacity. Thank you for joining us!

I initially thought I made the reservation with Wild Side Specialty Tours (after reading great reviews), but it turned out to be Dolphins and You. I am not sure whether they are the same company but I thought I’d mention it. As far as the tour, it was good but I would suggest that you adjust your description. We were lucky to see lots of dolphins (we had to make two drops because the dolphin pod veered off on our first drop) but the second stop was only to go down the inflatable slide, not to snorkel. We were in a sandy area so there was no coral reef and no fish. For $200 p/p, I would expect to be able to snorkel too or to have a much much smaller group; there were 50+ people on board. I understand that Hawaii is very expensive and that we are experiencing the post COVID rush but still. I went with my teenage child who was lucky to see the dolphins underwater, and I was just as happy to view them from the deck of the boat (I was a bit out of breath after the first drop :-D). I also recommend that you rent a wet suit (it’s only $10) so you’re not cold in the water. They offer transportation so take advantage of it so you can take Dramamine and avoid getting sea sick. The staff on board is young and friendly.

Aloha Marie,
We are trying to locate your booking so that we can figure out what happened why there were some inaccuracies in our listings. We are confused about where you found us listed as "Wild Side Specialty Tours". I believe I might have found your full booking name, so we will use that to try to reach out to you personally to learn more. If you don't hear from us, please email digital@andyoucreations.com with your name and book date. We do want to make sure all of our listings are accurate. We're glad that your teenage child was able to see the dolphins and that you enjoyed seeing them from the boat. We're also glad you enjoyed our staff. We'll pass onto our management that you were not satisfied with the price and the number of people on board. Thank you for your time and feedback. Aloha and safe travels!

I was super hyped and this was the activity I was looking forward to the most when planning my trip to Oahu, but I didn't feel very satisfied at the end of the tour.
Here's what was good:
The company seems to be well organized. We were picked up on time at a place not too far from my own hotel, I think we even waited for some late people so they're very accommodating.
The shuttle bus and boat were clean. Felt safe at all times.
The staff was very kind and entertaining.
They provided all the gear, snacks, drinks, and did a few dances as extra entertainment.
Water slide was fun!
Didn't feel pressured to buy any additional items
And what made me sad - the actual experience :(
I took the morning tour thinking this meant higher chance of seeing dolphins. I really wanted to see dolphins and interact with them, like A LOT of them. I picked this looking at all the amazing pictures and videos people posted, some obviously lucky than others getting to see a whole bunch of them. I know, it's in the wild and we have to chase them, but we only saw like 6 (2 groups of 3) and they seemed so far away it was like I was just watching their shadow!
It also seemed to happen so fast and you're trying to catch up to them or move to where the guide tells you to go. To add on that you will be kicked and shoved by people trying to rush to the spot as well. I think to alleviate this they may have to consider bringing a smaller group on board, because I'm sure all that frantic splashing and moving (even though they tell you not to do it) does not help.
I know we were lucky to see those few if any, but the timing also was not good. It felt like we spent a good 1.5 hour searching for them, then when we finally did I think we were only in there for 15-20 minutes until we had to go back up to let other boat groups in.
Next, at the snorkel spot, there were hardly any fish! I was hoping to even see a turtle based on other reviews/pictures and nothing! The water was beautiful and clear but it was like I was just staring at sand. Our time was limited here as well since we spent so much of the beginning searching for dolphins. At least the slide was fun, but yea, just didn't live to my expectation..
After that you pretty much boat back to the dock and you're on the shuttle home!
At first I chose this because I was originally going solo and thought it'd be better to go with a big group rather than a smaller group which my introverted self thought might be awkward and lonesome, but I managed to get my brother to go with me and I felt bad cause he didn't really enjoy it either. We were literally so pumped in the morning and we hardly do anything together and after it drained our energy for the rest of the day.
I think if I ever decide to do this type of activity again, I'd go with a smaller and cheaper company. I did not feel that this was worth the $180. There are other companies charging less, which seems more feasible given the chance of actually seeing dolphins/marine life and how many!

Aloha Tareesa,
We are glad that you found the tour organized, enjoyed the time with our staff and felt safe at all times. We do appreciate your feedback on our capacity and will pass this onto our operations manager. We work to find a balance between helping as many people as possible who dream of swimming with dolphins in their natural environment fulfill that dream, while still prioritizing safety and comfort. Thank you again for your time. We wish you safe travels and Aloha.

This tour is not at all covid safe. They take you on a boat that they claim can fit 100 people in normal times, but I have a hard time believing that. We had 40 people on our tour. The guides were wearing masks half the time, did not require guests to at all on the boat. There was absolutely no space on the boat to keep people 6 ft apart as is stated in the listed, and it was in fact discouraged. We were forced to stay close together to exit the boat - all unmasked before getting in the water.
Covid aside, the tour was mediocre at best. We were consistently forced to herd near one of the guides in order to follow the dolphins (a nearly impossible task). We only saw them from above the water really, and a small group of them. If you can imagine 40 people trying to snorkel within 10ft of one guide, you can understand the number of kicks I received and how uncomfortable it was. If I ever got uncomfortable and wanted to stray from the group slightly (max 6ft away) to not get kicked, I would get yelled at by a crew member telling me to get closer. I had to skip out of the second time we went with the dolphins because it was so terrible.
The second location they took us to for turtle snorkeling did not have any turtles. They told us we would have free time to swim, but again forced us to stay within 10 ft of the guide or we would get yelled at. Overall, a super uncomfortable and irritating experience for experienced snorkelers who wanted a relaxing swim.
The hula show was cute, and the children around our group seemed to enjoy the experience. For young adults, definitely do not recommend this tour.

The trip starts with a long bus ride, you are rushed the entire time. You get on the boat packed with way to many people you can’t even move around. They practically push you off to ‘find the dolphins’. You stay at that spot for 20+ minutes, then go to the next spot to find the turtles and have free time. It takes them 30 minutes to air up the slide and then they give 50 people 15 minutes to use it and use the paddle boards... then your done. Time for the long wet hour back to your hotel... this was terrible!

Aloha Kayla,
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. While estimates of timing are outlined on the Schedule page of our website, some days we are more time-pressed than others to deliver on the marine life sightings and entertainment our tour packs into 3.5 hours. We sincerely apologize if you felt rushed or uncomfortable at any time and would love to hear your ideas for how we could improve our scheduling and still deliver the expectations of our experience. We've reached out to you directly to talk more with you about this. Safe travels and Aloha.

First, I want to say the staff at Dolphins and You were fantastic! Everyone was super friendly and the hula dance they performed for us was a nice surprise.
We didn’t have the best weather (it was super windy), but even with that we only spent 2 hours on the water and everything felt very rushed. We snorkeled for about 20 min and they barely left the water slide out long enough for anyone to enjoy. Given the wind was so bad they should have just canceled the cruise all together. We also didn’t see any dolphins - I know that’s not Dolphins and You’s fault since they can’t control where the Dolphins go.
Not to mention, the shuttle bus that picked us up had all the windows covered with advertising so we couldn’t even enjoy the beautiful scenery on the 1hr drive each way.
My recommendations for the company: Make this a longer cruise, cancel trips when weather is bad and guests can’t safely get into the water, remove the coverings on the shuttle bus windows.

Thank you for joining us, and for your kind comments about our crew. We are sorry if you felt that the tour was rushed. As a tour company that gives guests sustainable experiences in nature, parts of our tour are also at the mercy of nature. Wouldn't do it again. Even though it says enjoy lunch there was no lunch. We were gone from 10am until almost 4 pm water, powdered lemonade and chips was all that was provided. So if you are a person who needs to eat periodically please keep this in mind. We didn't see any sea life whatsoever oh except a little bit of a sea turtle. They also tell you AFTER!you are on board that a few days ago it became illegal to swim with spinner dolphins
That's fine but they should not sell the package and then let people know after the fact.
I gave it three stars because everything was on time, staff was professional and doing what they could to keep the visitors happy. Sadly it wasn't enough. Many people I spoke to said that it was basically a really expensive boat ride. Just keep this all in mind before booking.

Aloha:
Please reach out to digital@andyoucreations.com to let us know where you saw a reference to "enjoy lunch". We have updated all of our marketing materials to "complimentary snacks", rather than full lunch, due to COVID restrictions. We try to keep all profiles up-to-date, but sometimes one falls through the cracks, so please do let us know where you saw this incorrect information.
On the note of swimming with dolphins, we are closely in contact with NOAA and they are aware of our operations. It is illegal to approach dolphins, but we let the dolphins approach us – as has always been our protocol. We also encourage sustainability on our tours and share information about how to preserve the dolphins' environment, such as avoiding sunscreens that are not reef-safe.
We hope this helps to explain and welcome you reaching out if you would like to learn more. Mahalo and safe travels!

I felt that this activity/trip was extremely lacking for 450$ for two people.
For the money spent we got-
3 hours (there and back) on a bus ride
1 1/2 hours (there qnd back) on a smaller, jammed boat with 40 other people
Snorkling, without any sea life, for about 20 min
All you can nature valley bars and a jug of lemonade and water.
Just cant help but shake my head

Aloha Philip,
We will pass on your feedback to our leadership that you feel the cost of the tour was too high. The cost of our tour helps to support the income of our crew and captains, maintenance of our boat and equipment, and more. We pride ourselves in offering more than an ocean experience, with cultural information and hula performance and Oahu's best crew. We're sorry if you did not feel that this added to the value. Mahalo and safe travels.

This was hands down, an utterly life changing experience. From the first pickup to the last drop off, I felt truly inspired from start to finish. One member who made the trip even better was Koby. She used her fun personality to really make the whole boat feel special. Through her leadership, we were able to see many amazing animals such as dolphins, turtles, and many many different kinds of fish. She lead the charge when we went snorkeling and made sure everyone stayed safe and did it in a fun and loving manner. I highly recommend this trip to anyone who loves the ocean, anyone who is in Hawaii for the first time, and anyone who loves to explore new places in a fun, energetic manner.

Is there a difference in likelihood of seeing dolphins and turtles with the 8am tour vs the 12pm tour?

If your pregnant let’s say 6 months to be exact Can you still go snorkeling?

I think you can but I wouldn’t risk being in the ocean that far along. Check with your Dr.

They def try to pack in as many people as possible (even people who don't have swimsuits). I think we had 40-50 people on our boat. We saw no dolphins, the water was very choppy, and since there were so many people on the boat we continued to swim around in the same little circle they block off for us. So basically just bump into the people on the boat as you try to look for sea-life. We saw nothing on our excursion. To distract from the crowds, lack of any sea life, and long boat ride they inflate a slide for people to go down.

Isn't swimming with spinner dolphins now illegal? According to the October 28 issue of the Hawaii Tribune the National Marine Fisheries Service has prohibited "swimming with or getting within 50 yards (45.7 meters) of a spinner dolphin that is within 2 nautical miles of the shore of the main Hawaiian Islands. The rule applies to persons, boats, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, drones or other objects."

It’s illegal, they take you further out in the hopes of finding bottlenose dolphins instead, which is a long-shot.

Hello!
Where would be the address of the location? We would like to drive there by ourselves but couldn’t find the address anywhere.
Thank you!

I believe we met on a beach. The place to park is in a nearby shopping center lot. Then you walk to where they meet (on the beach). I forgot the name of the shopping center.

Yes it will make the experience much more enjoyable. If you can't swim, I believe they have floaters for you but it will be harder to keep up with the group as the dolphins can move quickly.

What is the exact name of the location and address? We might prefer to drive to the place because we're going somewhere else after the activity.
