Overview

Join a local guide for a 2-hour walking tour of Salem, Massachusetts. Hear about the city's history as you visit landmarks such as the London Coffee House, the Salem Witch Trials Memorial, the Burying Point, the Witch House (Corwin House), the McIntire Historic District, Hamilton Hall, and Pickering House. You'll hear about the New England city's past as a Native American settlement, the witchcraft trials, the American Revolution, and more on this leisurely walking tour.

What to Expect
This two hour Salem history tour is an eclectic, conversational and unscripted walk through Salem with Kenneth.

He begins the tour with a description of the founding of Salem as Naumkeag in 1626 and winds a narrative of an important New England seaport that is often only remembered for the Salem Witch Trials but the trials are only a portion of Salem's Story Kenneth has to tell.

There have been a few unexpected surprises on the tour.  Kenneth has been studying and learning to sing the songs as they were meant to be sung from The Bay Psalms Book.  This is the first book printed in America in 1640 for the Congregationalists in The Massachusetts Bay Colony.

Kenneth is a plain dressing member of the Society of Friends (Quakers) whose unorthodox predecessors once comprised ten percent of the population of Salem in the 1690's and was born and lives across the harbor from Salem in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Great place to visit

Went here on a day trip and it was raining and cold. The tour was still good and we saw a lot. Enjoyed the whole town.

So interesting and a super-friendly guide!

Kenneth was an absolutely brilliant tour guide. The tour was very in-depth and interesting, and we learned not only about Salem's witch-related history but also about the more general history of the village, seeing some of the oldest buildings and some other beautiful scenery and...More

This answer may help others. I find that transport wheelchairs are not the best for getting around because the front wheels are small and do not move over brick sidewalks. They can make it around but can be a challenge from... More

I believe there are two tours daily. The first one is 11:30am, so this is the earliest one you can take. It looks like there is also one at 4:00pm on some days. When you enter a date you would like to take the tour, and the... More
