Great views but if you could drive yourself and want to save money, visit on own.
The views were amazing, and Cody the driver/guide was great. However, I am not sure if it was worth the price, though. In total, we saw 3 spots, and only one had a cover charge of $10. Obviously, it’s nice to have transportation, but for about $150 a person, I can’t seem to justify the price just because transportation was provided. The one thing that was nice (which was by chance)was that we were the only ones on the tour.

        Great time !
My wife and I had a great time on our tour! Our guide David was the best! His knowledge of the stops and the state of Utah as a whole was impressive and very informative. This trip was so worth it for us and I would highly recommend it!

Florida tourist first visit to Utah
David was fantastic in showing me and the family the history of Salt Lake City. He was very patient with all of the questions. I'm extremely happy we chose to do the tour! Had we not done so, we would have missed out on the rich history the city has to offer. Great job!!!

If you are a local, book through the Lodge Itself, not this company
Southwest Adventures charges $145 per person for this tour, while the lodge itself charges $20. When I questioned the difference in cost after our experience (I didn't initially know you could book directly through the lodge) they said "We have many people local to the Salt Lake area take our tour because they do not like to drive in the dark through the mountains." I promise, this drive is not treacherous, and not at all worth $125 per person to have them drive you (if you consider the Lodge's $20 your cost). Obviously you wouldn't want to drive up in a snow storm, but that wouldn't be a good day for stargazing anyway. Scott was awesome and so was Michelle who drove us, but please learn from us and don't get ripped off, this is an insane cost for what you're getting. We spent 45 minutes in the observatory and the rest of the time was spent touring the inn, which they don't outline in the itinerary. Absolutely do not recommend and will not utilize this company again. Although I would recommend driving up to the lodge (it's adorable) and taking the tour for $20.

        Ticked all the Boxes
We were able to visit all 5 National Parks in Utah, hassle free. Our Guide Kim was very knowledgable and also very flexible. On any day our hikes would vary to suit the weather conditions and the fitness of the group. This made us feel like we were really getting the best experience we could on any given day. We saw so much amazing scenery. Highly recommended

        Wonderful Northern Lights Tour!
We went on the Northern Lights Tour in Fairbanks, Alaska and we had a magnificent time. Everything went beautifully, we saw the Northern Lights 3 nights in a row and the activities such as ice fishing and dog sledding were a blast. So well organized and our guide was fantastic. Met great people and truly had a blast.

        Highly Recommend Southwest Adventure Tours
We had a small tour group which made it really easy to make friends with the other tourists. Our tour guide was great! She had interesting information to tell us along the way. She offered us little containers to collect a small amount of salt to take home. Because of the small group, she was able to offer us options for our time spent in each place. I would definitely recommend Southwest Adventure Tours while in SLC. We could not have asked for kinder people. I lost my wallet while out on the tour and our tour guide and the company went to great lengths to help me. You cannot beat that kind of care.

Driver was great but could have chatted less. Also insisted on clicking pictures as he apparently was instructed to do
The tour was good but I could have been advised better as I am a tourist. I did the Arches national park only to be told on my return that I should have taken another tour which supposedly was better. The driver insisted on clicking a picture of me as apparently he was instructed by his boss to do so. He mentioned that his boss had asked for 4-5 pics per tourist! Bizarre ! Also tour was super expensive $1500 for 1 day!!!

        Great trip. Cantons were amazing
Amazing Canyons. Great trip and our guide was very knowledgeable. A lot was squeezed into this trip which on one day lead to a large amount of time in the van but it was worth it. Most of the time the communication was great but on the first day we got a phone call to ask where we were because they were waiting for us at our hotel, we had been told a different pick up time. At the end of the trip we were told there would be hotel drop off, there was only hotel drop off for 2 hotels so you had to find your own way from there. This wasn’t a problem but would have been good to know when we book the trip, then we may have booked to stay at one of those hotels.

Awesome Mighty Five National Park Tour
My husband and I had an awesome time on our recent 8 day Mighty Five Utah park trip this November! Our tour guide Cody was outstanding and well versed on each park and its natural beauty. I enjoyed taking pictures with some tips from Cody's photography background. Most of all, he ensured that our small group enjoyed what each park had to offer according to varying capabilities of the group. The restaurants were very unique and in Cody's words "only got better". The "pie stop" was outstanding! We also enjoyed the accomodations. I must say that even the visitor centers were educational as he would quiz us before hand on the landscape origins. We would highly recommend this national park adventure this time of year! Thank you, Cody!

        Amazing Northern Lights Alaska trip
We participated in The Northern Lights Alaska trip. We were really impressed by our tour director, Shybree! She was an absolutely amazing communicator, and she made sure we were able to see and take pictures of the Aurora Borealis on 3 separate nights. In addition, we experienced museums, Reindeer (up close and personal), dog sledding, an Ice Palace, hot springs, ice fishing, and a Santa House in the town of North Pole (with a real Santa Clause - he legally changed his name). Also, this was a small group tour, and we all enjoyed being together on this trip. We have a lot of memories and photos that we will cherish forever. Seeing the Northern Lights has been a dream of mine for many, many years, and I was more than grateful for this experience!!!

Good trip, with one major exception.....
The van that was allocated to this trip was not what anyone expected. It was more of a "day trip" van and not one to travel in for a 5-day trip. There was no leg room; no room to place any carry bags; no cup holders. It was VERY tight getting to your seat. What made it more apparent we had the least of the least vans was seeing two other groups, from your company, in vans that were what we had all expected to be in. Why were we charged the same amount as others, tripped was booked in February, and then given a very uncomfortable ride? Personally, I would love to take another trip with your company, BUT with the price paid for a "day use" van I'm not confident in the transportation options.

        Extraordinary Utah Majestic National Park
Our five-day Utah National Parks adventure was extraordinary in an unforgettable Might Five Utah-Las Vegas adventure through Utah's National Parks. Eleven of us, traveling comfortably in a Mercedes minivan, embarking on a five-day odyssey through Utah's Five majestic National Parks. October's crisp air painted the canyons in hues of amber and russet as we explored Zion's towering cliffs, Arches' otherworldly formations, the hidden orchards of Capitol Reef, Canyonland National Park, Goblin Valley State Park, and Bryce Canyon's ethereal Hoodoos. Our group, a wonderfully friendly bunch, bonded over breathtaking hikes and stunning vistas. Lee, our exceptional guide, whose intimate knowledge of the region stemmed from a childhood spent exploring its wonders, went above and beyond to ensure a seamless and joyful experience. While the unexpected snow on day two added a touch of adventure, the remaining days were filled with crisp sunshine, stunning scenery, and memories we'll cherish forever. This trip, a testament to the power of shared experiences and the beauty of the natural world, exceeded all expectations.

        Exceeded Our Expectations
This trip to Utah's Mighty 5 National Parks (as well as Goblin Valley State Park) exceeded all of our expectations. We were able to experience highlights of each park within a compressed time frame. Hikes, both challenging and easy, focused on the best each park had to offer. Photo stops were frequent. The hotel choices were good, however the "new" hotel in Springdale was very far from town so we couldn't explore it. Group meals were at well-chosen restaurants. Last but certainly not least, our guide, Wynn Hall, was tremendous. His local knowledge was outstanding and his gregarious nature facilitated in making the travellers a close-knit group. Wynn made sure we were well taken care of in every way. I highly recommend using Southwest Adventure Tours.

Fantastic Experience, Book IT with Southwest Adventure Tours!
Best decision we could have made choosing SWA tours! Our guide, Aaron, was friendly, accomodating, and made sure everyone was included. It exceeded our expectations. Had we tried to drive ourselves we would never have experienced such a great trip.

Our tour guide, Cameron, turned a simple day trip into a memorable expedition. Cameron was not only knowledgeable but also exceptionally friendly and intentional about making our tour enjoyable. He was attuned to our interests, shared fascinating fun facts throughout the journey, and even played great music to enhance the scenic drives.

We saw an impressive array of wildlife, including bisons, pronghorns, coyotes, and various stunning birds, even owls! Cameron’s ability to spot wildlife and his knowledge about each species enriched our understanding and appreciation of the ecosystem around here Moreover, he was very helpful the entire tour even helped take amazing pictures, along the way.

I highly recommend booking a tour with Southwest Adventure and you will be very lucky to have Cameron as your tour guide, he will make your Great Salt Lake and Antelope Island tour a fantastic. Thanks to Cameron, we came away with great photos, new knowledge, and wonderful memories. Don’t miss out on this incredible adventure!

This tour is a great way to explore Antelope Island, being shuttled from one point to another stopping to admire any fascinating wildlife.

The day before the tour, our tour guide, Bob, left a message on my cellphone confirming the pickup details. I couldn't pick up, but I had previously communicated with Southwest Adventure Tours' reservations desk. They told me where to wait and what the van would look like. I had no issues getting picked up.

After picking up the other four people just outside the convention center, we proceeded to Antelope Island. It was about a 45-minute drive from downtown. On the way there, Bob provided a lot of commentary about our surroundings and its history. The van had no PA system, so people sitting at the back had difficulty hearing. But after moving up, they had no issues.

Once on the island, Bob carefully and skillfully guided us through the itinerary. He was flexible in offering to stop alongside the road to take photos of the various wildlife. He knew where the animals would be (e.g., bison bulls & owls), and he was definitely on the ball. The main bison herd migrates all the time, so you can't always expect to find them, but we were able to spot them and get plenty of photographs from a safe distance. We also bumped into a volunteer with the Utah DNR at Fielding Garr Ranch and got lots of extra tidbits (for example, the modern round Bison round-up with horses takes

Unique opportunity to see free roaming bison up close!
Island is a short drive from the city but feels like you have left civilization and are on a remote island in the South Pacific.
Lots of great photo opportunities. Plenty of hiking and camping. They even have small cabins to rent.
This is a must see for travelers to compare to downtown Salt Lake City.

Our tour guide Cody was amazing and we got to see so much! The hike was not bad at all! Cody gave us so much information during the tour that was so interesting. The views were beautiful, this tour guide a must! My dad and I loved it. I would recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray, and a protein bar in case you get hungry.

We had never been to the Salt Lake City area and signed up for this tour. Our tour guide, Michelle, was friendly, fun and professional. She showed us Antelope Island, an old ranch and also gave us some practical tips about SLC along the road. She even helped with taking pictures, which was greatly appreciated. The scenery was beautiful and calm. We highly recommend this tour!

My husband and I recently did the Antelope Island tour. Ann did a fantastic job providing history of the area as well as Antelope Island. Her “tool kit” of items to make the trip better and explain the tour was great; a map, magnifying glass, salt crystals, and bug spray. Just a note if she offers bug spray, use it. 5 stars

Trip was wonderful! Our guide, Vicky, was knowledgeable about the Salt Lake area & provided interesting tidbits on our way to the island as well as information about the island & its history while we toured sites. We did a short hike to a beautiful lookout point! We would highly recommend this half-day tour.

I found this a really enjoyable and informative trip. The vehicle was comfortable and the length of tour was just right. We were warned that the various types of wildlife might not appear, but we were lucky and saw huge numbers of bison as well as an entertaining family of pronghorns, some pelicans and even an obliging coyote! But the star of the show was our guide who told us all about the history of the area, including how the herd of bison came into being. Yes, we were lucky with bright, hot weather, but the scenery was stunning and it was a great experience.
