- kellis8240 contributionsGreat Tour and Stunning ConcertTaking a tour of your destination city is always a good idea since it gives you an overall picture of the landscape, industry, history, food, shopping, activities, etc. But this tour had an exceptional draw: the Tabernacle Choir performance. Matthew did an excellent job presenting a lot of information in a relatively short tour. He was clear, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and dressed to impress. He was also right on the money when he said the concert would be a highlight of our stay in SLC. The concert is not available for all the city tours, but taking one with it is a high recommendation!Written December 11, 2024
- DONS400 contributionsOutstanding !!A most amazing concert !! Also, the BEST narrated bus tour we have ever been on. Guide and driver were both amazing. Do this !!!!Written December 11, 2024
- villagepantryotr0 contributionsSLC 101Very good tour with Matthew our most excellent tour guide! Learned so much about SLC, and was spiritually uplifted by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir!Written November 26, 2024
- tommybG8106ZG0 contributionsGreat JobDespite the inability to see a few things because of snow and cloudy conditions, the tour was great. Our tour guides did a great job of explaining all that Salt Lake has to offer and gave many interesting tidbits that peaked more research after the tour. Recommend to do the tour early in your stay and plan the rest of your trip based on your interest. Also great for those like me who had only a few hours before an afternoon flight to catch a glimpse of the town for future visits.Written November 18, 2024
- Gina C0 contributionsAmazing guide, we visited so many places and ended up at the tabernacle watching the choir rehearse. Our guide was super sweet and knowledgeable. He took time to truly show us everything. The only downside about going when it gets dark is you can’t see some amazing views but our guide still took us all over and flashed high beams on statues so we could see.Written November 15, 2024
- adventurous330 contributionsHighly Recommend!Amazing trip! The tour guide provided delightful information about the Tabernacle choir and Salt Lake, while riding along in the bus or at each stop.Written November 13, 2024
- 716kimberlyu0 contributionsNice way to spend a held day in SLCThis was a nice overview of the Tabernacle Salt Lake City. Although the tour is by his, there is just enough walking to keeps things interesting. We also got some nice photos.Written November 11, 2024
- 215pams0 contributionsA little priceySeemed high priced when every stop had free admission and over an hour of the tour is with the tabernacle choir. Hard to see some attractions from the van if you are not seated by a window located on the side of the attraction.Written November 10, 2024
- T9460KYbrendab0 contributionsRecommended tour of Salt Lake City.great way to see the sites of the city. The Tabernacle Choir performance was spectacular. We did get to take many pictures of sites and scenery. Wonderful experience. Knowledgeable tour guide, named Matthew, so accommodating for participants with limited mobility.Written November 8, 2024
- 605JaneD0 contributionsWell worth it!Great experience seeing a variety of important city sights with and end at watching the Tabernacle Choir during rehearsal (which was amazing!) Tour guide was a lot of fun and even dressed in character There is a decent amount of walking and stairs Well, worth it and not too challenging, but definitely not for someone who has A lot of mobility problemsWritten October 25, 2024
- katieoC4787XX0 contributionsFine Experience - Not Fully Worth ItThe tour itself was operated well, however in hindsight the price was steep for what we experienced. I didn't realize the Choir itself is free to the general public so the price is really just for the bus tour. The tour was fine, but not spectacular, so the price doesn't seem quite worth it to be truthful.Written October 23, 2024
- V9779GRelizabethc0 contributionsSO FUN!!My 16 year old daughter and I had a BLAST on this tour! We learned really interesting and fun facts about Salt Lake City and the state of Utah. Such a great tour and an awesome guide- very humorous and kept the mood high throughout the entire tour. We loved all the stops and the organ recital was amazing.
I marked one star off because the bus escape hatch in the roof was leaking due to rain the entire last half of the tour. The guide did his best to mitigate the water coming in but 3 of us got soaked and the bus was full so there was nowhere else to move to.
To the tour company- please make sure you are managing your buses care so the next time, your participants don’t get as soaked inside as they did outside in the rain.

So sorry about the water dripping from the roof hatch. It had not been closed tightly. We wish the guide had noticed that before the end of the tour.

Very enjoyable. Felt very private because in early Jan it was not crowded and the van had one other person besides me. The Capitol, Tabernacle in Temple Square were interesting. The narration by our guide of the history of Salt Lake and how the Mormons settled here was very informative. Lunch at Lion House was homestyle cafeteria with very comfy food after walking . The This is the Place Heritage Park was quaint and the gift shop lovely. In wonder and especially after Christmas, things are very quiet there as well. The day I went Christmas was coming down and inventory being done. In Temple Square we had a bit of a walk around because of renovation, thus the 4 Stars .
A nice time, if you have about 4 hours , it’s worth it .
Park across from Plaza Hotel at City Creek Mall.

If it is your First Time to SLC, definitely highly recommend this Guided Bus Tour on your first full day; they fetched us from the front of our hotel and offered to bring us back about 2 1/2 hours later. Since we did the 10 AM tour, we opted to stay around where the last stop was and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon in mid city. The tour was extremely informative, it gave us a directional bearing on the city, gave us some history of how the city has evolved, a little religious background on LDS and evolution to the current day.

The tour itinerary was aggressive, but should have provided a good overview and history of the area. It was apparently too aggressive.
Items not seen or not discussed:
1. Gardens with 500,00 plants
2. Fountain with 294 jets rising 50 feet
3. White Memorial Chapel
4. Memory Grove
5. Pacific Union Depot
6. Trolley Square
We were given 15 minutes at the conference center to listen to the organ rehearsal and no mention of the rooftop gardens or observation levels. The organ playing was very impressive.
We were given 15 minutes to explore the Capital Building on our own - no points of interest were highlighted or history imparted while there. There was some history given on the way to the capital.
A lot of the history of Salt Lake City is related to the LDS (Mormons), but we felt the LDS history was emphasized with very little imparted about the non-LDS history. Our stop at the Pioneer Village was long for what was actually there and geared for the gift shop. (Thank you to the gift shop employees for their singing performance.)
Our tour guide, Jim, was very nice and pleasant. Unfortunately, it must very difficult to give a tour and drive in city traffic at same time, as he did both. Thank you, Jim, for pointing out the Family Search Library. We went there later in our trip and it was well worth the visit. Your insights about the Great Salt Lake was also useful in planning our activities.
Overall, the price was not worth it, especially after ticket price, tax and 20% tip to offset how little the tour guide is paid.

Overall it was good to see the sights and learn about the history of SLC. Our tour guide was very informative. It was good to see everything in one tour because SLC is a sprawling city, and it would be difficult to see everything on foot, and renting a car is too expensive, so I recommend this tour if you have a few free hours in SLC

Not being familiar with the city, we decided to book a guided tour. Our guide proved to be very knowledgeable and friendly. The bus was very comfortable. We saw the highlights of the city and were delighted with the running commentary. Some areas were closed due to Covid concerns, but our visit to the State Capitol Building was truly eye opening. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to visit the sights of the city.

A good way to get an overview of Salt Lake city. We met at the Radisson and had a helpful commentary as we drove through city streets up past the winter Olympic stadium on to the heritage village. This was interesting and we had a short stop before driving back to the capitol building. We were lucky to see a meeting room and this tour covered main sites including the Catholic cathedral and its architecture and was an informative tour. Once completed you could consider whether to return to venues as its about 20 minutes in each but very well laid out. Our host was informative and explained a lot and also answered questions for our group. Would recommend

We highly recommend the Salt Lake City Guided Bus Tour aka ULTIMATE Salt Lake City Tour with Jim. Jim really made all the difference. He was very welcoming, knowledgeable, engaging, funny with all of his relevant jokes to the sights visited and historical people who made the sights and history of SLC unique. Jim is also a retired math and science teacher which his teaching repertoire showed. This tour was a highlight of our trip. Thank you Jim and City Sights. It's $10 cheaper booking directly at their website.

We had an excellent guide named Wynn (hopefully I spelled correctly) who was both knowledgeable and personable. The tour was a great overview of the city with history included. We stopped to listen to part of the organ recital at the conference center, did a brief tour of the Joseph Smith building and state capital. We drove by several areas that we made note of to go back and explore further. I recommend this tour as an ideal way to be introduced to SLC.

I rate the tour and tour guide a 5 out of 5. Sites we passed and visited were very interesting. The parking directions on the website, however, were terrible. 0 out of 5. I parked in a public lot right next to the Radisson hotel. It was a Saturday. the pay kiosk said parking was free. when I came back 2 1/2 hours later after the tour I had a $45 ticket from the city of Salt Lake City. the fine print said that the free parking was for two hours only. the directions on the website sent us to a location that had no parking. Just beware.

We are happy that you enjoyed the tour. We will certainly contact Viator again and ask them again to change their description of parking. Their description is not acceptable and we will correct this issue as soon as possible.

On TripAdvisor the description is out of date and does not match the itinerary posted so I want to confirm if this tour (10am & 2pm) includes "live recital at the renowned Mormon Tabernacle". I read in the reviews that the description is incorrect about allowing time to have lunch at the Lion House. Thank you

Is this a hop on hop off bus? If so, how often do the buses come to the stops?
Written July 17, 2022
No this was not a hop on-hop off tour, however before we returned to the hotel pick up site, the driver parked and we were given the option to hop off and go to the mall across the street and walk back to our our car; approx 2-3 blocks away. It was so hot we chose to return to the hotel.

I know it says wheelchair accessible, but wondering if it you can wheel in and out of the bus. Also are most of the stops wheelchair accessible?

I am sure that this company can accommodate your needs. No one on our tour needed that availability.

Hi,
Do you have a city tour that starts at 5pm on 4 June Sat? I touch down at SLC airport at 2 pm on 4 June.
I am not interested in the haunted tour - don't like stories of dead people and spirits.
I depart early on 5 June.
Thank you.
