Misleading picture
Aug 2019
Picture not at all what we found when we arrived by dilapidated school bus. Food was better on the cruise ship including the baked salmon. Two historical figures put on a poor presentation. Only fun thing was the gold panning where we each found some flakes of gold.

Delicious
Jun 2019
Took an excursion to Liarsville Camp the food was delicious. Slabs of fresh salmon cooked over fire. There was also many sides and beverages to choose between. While eating there was live music that was awesome. After our meal we walked through the makeshift town. Very nice experience.

Salmon Bake is Excellent
Jul 2019
This was included in the Yukon Suspension Bridge tour that I took and it was definitely the better part of the tour. The venue is like a campsite and the cooks are preparing the salmon on large grills. They serve it with a very tasting sauce along with salad, corn, beans, cornbread, etc. You won't be disappointed. The rest of the site is rustic with a small waterfall and more gift shops.

A look into the past ...
Jul 2019 • Couples
We went to Liarsville as part of a tour we booked through our cruiseline, otherwise we would have missed it ! It was a quick look into what a goldrush camp might have looked like, back in the day. Staff were very friendly, dressed in period attire. The lunch was filling, with as much as you wanted to eat, including the fresh salmon. Definitely include in your Skagway stay if you can fit it in.

Something different
May 2019 • Friends
It was a good lunch - plenty of food with delicious smokey salmon and plenty of other dishes on the buffet, including some excellent corn bread and a delicious sweet slice. Beer at $8 and wine at $9 was a little high considering there was the minutest amount in the glass. There was a great welcome from the actors well dressed up and entertaining, but the promised show did not seem to happen or we were just enjoying our lunch too much to notice that the show had started.

Entertaining Show
Aug 2018 • Couples
We had a great time at Liarsville. Lunch was really good; plenty to eat and the salmon was excellent. I noticed in many of the reviews that other people were complaining about the entertainment. Well, it may not be to everyone's taste, but it is like an old style melodrama and the three young women who performed. for us were very talented and we just went with it and enjoyed it all very much. Finally we got to learn how to do some gold panning. Everyone got a few flakes of gold if you did it right. That was really good fun. Overall, a great day, entertaining and good food and you might just learn a little bit of history as well.

Entertaining show and you get to pan for gold as part of one of the cruise excursions
Jun 2018
It was an entertaining show and you get to pan for gold as part of one of the cruise excursions. The salmon baked was pretty good. As with most fresh fish watch for bones when eating. A bit smoky so be aware of where you are sitting downwind from the fire.

It was just Okay for me
The food was tasty. Delicious salmon. The entertainment was cute, but very hokey. People were in costume and in character. The small “town” was also in period. There was a bullwhip performance, a little history, stories and singing etc. The mining for gold was very fun for some in our group, but I found it to be very put on / phony and a waste of time. Substitute a gold rush village for very small renaissance festival and you will get the gist of it. It just reflects the differences in preferences for entertainment. There is just so much else to see while in Alaska, I would budget my time elsewhere
