This past Friday we ( parents with son and daughter-in-law) took the private carriage ride . I pre booked and our guide Jonathan with his mule Cloudy were right on time to pick us up. The weather was brutally hot last week but Jonathan kept out trip light , friendly ,animated and informative . We would definitely recommend Jonathan (Cloudy) if you’re planning a trip to NewOrleans . We stayed in the French quarter area and it was nice to hear about the history of the area and how the areas came to be . We love the history , culture and colors of the city . Thanks Jonathan for a job well done!

The history we received along with the guide hitting specific spots was really interesting.

Our guide, Fiona, was super friendly and had a lot of relative information to provide us. She talked about the local history, the best places to visit, to eat and explained a lot about the lifestyle that our sweet mule Chicory enjoys as a beloved employee of Royal Carriages.

Both Chicory and the carriage were in tip-top form and presented beautifully!! Chicory was a very good girl and the ride was perfectly paced and comfortable.

We LOVED our experience and would absolutely recommend the activity to anyone who wants a bit of relaxing and romantic NOLA charm!!

We had a wonderful private tour. It is a little extra, but for the private tour I highly recommend paying a little extra to be a little more private. My wife and I loved it. Lofton was wonderful and Shine was very good at his job :). We were very happy and learned way more than we could every take in on our tour, but it was relaxing and wonderful. Would do it again if we came back into town.

It honestly was about as expensive as a 3 hour city tour and the guide was not interested in what we wanted to hear. I felt as though it was rushed and we did not get the experience we were hoping for. IMO i would go with a 3 hr limo private city tour. Thet provided us with more information and taylored the experience to our liking. Also, 3 hours vs 1 rushed hour. We also were looking for a more involved history on the voodoo information and oyr guide was not very interested in providing that.

t’s been a long time since we’ve been on a carriage tour in New Orleans. We visit the city at least twice a year and really just wanted to enjoy the streets on a private carriage tour with a knowledgeable driver who could provide some interest facts about the sights and the city.

Boy, did we find one! Fiona S and her mule Chicory took us on a tour catered to what we were seeking. She was fun, very informative and also gave us an interesting education on mule behavior, We fell in love with Chicory too!

Great tour and a thoroughly enjoyable time! I strongly recommend this tour and suggest that you seek Fiona and Chicory out!

We had a fun time on the carriage ride. Our guide, Mark, was humorous and didn’t fill our heads with too much in the way of facts and meaningless data. In spite of the fact that he wasn’t born in NoLa he captured the sense of the French Quarter in an hour mule and buggy tour.

We got married on 5-14 in NOLA and booked 4 carraiges to take us from the Renaissance Pere Marquette to the Natchez dock for our wedding onboard. They arrived on time. All 4 carraiges went in a convoy for a French Quarter tour and then delivered us right on time for our Natchez entrance. They were great and we highly recommend Royal Carraiges for your needs while in NOLA

My girlfriends and I recently visited New Orleans. The private carriage tour was our favorite experience! Lofton and his mule, Shine, were our guides. Lofton was very knowledgeable of the sites around New Orleans. He spoke to us by name and made sure we had every opportunity to see all we could on our hour tour, even catching quick glimpses into the beautiful courtyards beyond the fences of the beautiful city. Lofton was entertaining and seemed to connect well with our group.

I would recommend that you book this tour as one of your first experiences of New Orleans. Lofton will provide you with sites you may want to incorporate into your visit and can provide suggestions of the best places to go. Atta-boy, Lofton! Thanks for an experience of a lifetime!

We went on the 30 min. private carriage ride with Fiona S and Chicary. For the 30 minute tour you need to walk up and check for availability instead of getting a reservation. We went about 9 AM and were able to get right on. Fiona was very friendly and knowledgeable about the French Quarter and was able to give a lot of insider knowledge.
