I have visited NOLA about a half dozen times over the past 5 years and wanted to get more familiar with some other parts of the city outside the French Quarter and this tour really hit the spot. I actually wish I had done this sooner because our tour guide Derrick turned over all the stones. Even having been to the city a few times there wasn’t one fact or stop of the tour that I had heard or seen before! I have at least 10 more things to do the next time I come. I would recommend the 8:30 am tour, once it ended I had plenty of time to go back to some of the spots and enjoy them for myself later in the day and it was a smaller group of people. We also did the ghost walking tour the night before and it was definitely better quality than a previous ghost tour I had been on. The tours are a bit more expensive than others, but we got a discount for booking multiple tours at the visitor center and even aside from that, I felt like it exceeded my expectations. I wouldn’t hesitate to take another type of tour from Cajun Encounters!

Our city and cemeteries tour was great, thanks to Derrick. We had a really bad tour with Royal Carriages where we payed the same amount for 1/3 of the time. Cajun Encounters and Derrick did such a better job. Derrick kept the history coming with his own insights and answered our questions. We went through the city in order of development, stopped at the St. Louis Cemetery #3, the authentic Cafe du Monde experience in City Park, not that crap cafe in the French Quarter. We love what we learned from Derrick about the city and its people.

Karen, our bus driver was great! She was full of knowledge. We learned a lot about New Orleans. After, the tour she dropped several of us off near our next destination. In the days following the tour, we went back to City Park, the garden sculptures park, garden district and Frenchmen st. We would highly recommend this tour and company.

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to the whole time. We learned so much from him. It's a nice overview of the city and gave us ideas on places we should go back to explore on foot. The cemetery visit was the highlight. Our guide gave so many interesting details and explanations. I wish we'd had a bit more time there to look around but traffic delayed us a bit that day. However, that's not on the tour company - they can't control traffic, and it was still worth every penny! We still had plenty of time to look around a bit after the guided portion.

We got picked up on Canal Street across from the hotel we stayed in. Renee, our tour guide, is very knowledgeable about the history and the locations in the city. I did not care about the cemetery too much (still a very nice to see)- what I liked about the trip is to see all the beautiful houses in the different districts of New Orleans and listening to Renee explain the history and anecdotes around them! After the cemetery, we went to Cafe Du Monde and grabbed some beignets. Thank you Renee for showing us around! Would definitely recommend the tour for tourists who are not very familiar with the city!

What a great bus tour of the city and the cemetery. Our driver Butch was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and made the trip interesting and fun. This is good to do if you’ve never been here so you can decide where to spend more time later. I definitely recommend this tour and they are open and social distancing so it was also a safe trip.

My husband and I went to New Orleans for my 30th birthday and was told by our family and friends to take a bus tour of the city. We heard about this company when we went into one of the visitor centers. There were multiple pickup locations for the tour which was very convenient. The bus was very clean and air conditioned. They took us around town and we were able to see things that we probably would have never gone out to look at ourselves. Our tour guide Rob was very knowledgeable and we were able to learn a lot of history about New Orleans and hurricane Katrina. My husband and I really enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend to someone who has never been to New Orleans

Amazing tour. Well worth the money. Our guide Butch was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. It would not have been the same without this guide, he was awesome. We felt as if we knew the city when the tour was over and would take this tour again in case we missed something. Best deal in town for those on vacation.

We did the City Tour with Cemetery tour and our guide was fabulous, I do have to apologize we did three tours today and I forgot the tour guides name. We were driven around the city in a comfortable bus and our guide was so very knowledgeable and told us things I didn’t even think to wonder about to be honest. We visited St. Louis cemetery No. 3 and were taught about the burial process and why the people of New Orleans are buried in crypts. We drove through a small section of the 1300 acre City Park and visited a small Seven Three distillery for a break and bevie. As we drove back to our hotel stop we were taught about a New Orleans specialty, the infamous beignet, and how “any beignet in the city” is better than those at Cafe du Monde...challenge accepted.

I chose the first tour of the morning to start my sightseeing day. Butch, our tour guide, was knowledgeable on the city history, cultural landmarks, and attractions. The benefit from the first tour is the beignets and coffee stop toward the end. Once the tour was over, now I had a list for future sightseeing in New Orleans!
