Great guide with lots of great knowledge about the swamp, area nearby and animal life. He couldn't bring the gators to us so we had to wait for them to swim to us. It happened three times. I do understand they can't tease the alligators...More

Once you arrive at the launch site, step aboard your airboat (small boats accommodate six to eight passengers; large boats are limited to 25). Hold on to your seat as the fast, light boat takes off through the tidewater cypress swamp, which borders Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. The flat-bottom airboat allows access to even the shallowest of water, where many tidal birds and swamp creatures make their homes.
Your guide narrates the sights, such as tupelo-gum trees and cypress trees covered with moss, as you whip through the water.
