Explore Louisiana’s beautiful and mysterious bayous on this covered boat tour departing from New Orleans. You’ll visit secluded Mississippi River swamps—keep an eye out for alligators and other wildlife—with a guide who’s familiar with the area and its Cajun culture. Included round-trip transportation from the French Quarter saves you time and money.
What to Expect

Your tour starts with pickup in New Orleans’ French Quarter. Relax on the bus ride out to the bayous, leaving the navigation and driving to someone else.

Once you reach the area, board a covered boat with your guide, and take to the swampy waters. Listen as your guide informs you about the area’s history and ecology, and get the opportunity to spot alligators and other wildlife native to the bayous.

Learn about the local culture, such as the origin of gumbo, and how the area’s residents work hard to guarantee the survival of the wetlands. Snap pictures of the swamps to take home, and gain a better understanding of this beautiful, often-misunderstood area.

Your tour ends with a drive back to the French Quarter.

Oh then Gators 🐊

Great information told and like how gators respond to movement in water. Throwing ice cubes gets the babies to come over closer. Big gators seem to just relax with full bellies on the shore. They blend and you don’t want to be out there without...More

The only Gator Tour to do in NOLA

I've done 3 gator tours and this was by far the best. The guide was fun and informative, the pontoon boat kept us shaded and the gators close, and the trip was very relaxing. Oh and did I mention we got to hold an actual...More

I opted for this tour dire to the chance of rain. Being on a covered boat, I was assured the tour would still be good regardless. I also liked that that this tour included transportation, it was very convenient to just walk to the meeting...More

Very intertestikng tour even in a down pour of rain.

I was beginning to wonder if we would see any alligators. But then we saw a lot of them. I wish I had thought to buy cheap rain poncho's in New Orleans and when we got to the place they charged about $7.00 each but...More

You board your tour bus at the Gray Line ticket booth. If you are starting near the French Quarter, just walk to the end of Toulouse. If you are getting dropped off, the corner of Toulouse and Decatur.

In my opinion your best bet is to call the company as the status can change from day to day. It also depends on your party's requirements. Does the person use a walker or wheelchair? A light wheel chair that can be lifted... More
