Overview

Go beyond the French Quarter on this sightseeing bus tour of New Orleans. Learn about the city’s long history and hear tales of voodoo, piracy, and wartime heroism as you drive past Creole landmarks, Jackson Square, Garden District mansions, crumbling cemeteries, and the shores of Bayou St. John. This guided bus tour is a stress-free way to see parts of the Big Easy that many visitors miss.

What to Expect

Board a comfortable air-conditioned coach at a convenient meeting point in the French Quarter, the historic heart of New Orleans. See famous landmarks such as Jackson Square, the Cabildo and Presbytere museums, and the Pontalba buildings while learning about the city’s French, Spanish, Creole, and American heritage.

Venture outside of the French Quarter to the banks of Bayou St. John, once the site of voodoo rituals and a notorious pirate waterway used by Jean Lafitte. Visit one of New Orleans’ so-called “cities of the dead,” St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, to see unusual above-ground burial practices. Follow the route of the historic St. Charles streetcar to the leafy avenues and southern-style mansions of the Garden District, and then cruise past the campuses of Tulane and Loyola universities that border the Audubon Zoo before returning to the French Quarter.

Interesting and Informative

Jude was funny and knowledgeable; he obviously loves the city in which he has spent his entire lifetime. The statues in the City Park were fascinating. Insightful historical discussion of Garden District and pre and post Katrina facts. Linda

Enjoyable tour

This tour is just over 2 hours. Our guide Midge was quite good. You'll stop at a cemetery first. I did not know until that day that mausoleums are popular in NOLA because they are below sea level. So you get some history out of...More

Yeah it was about 2 hours and 15. Are you eating dinner at 6? You will be right across the tracks from the boat kiosk, 3 minute walk.

I don't remember but the driver said we could get off for about 5 minutes, but we didn't think it was worth getting off for that. It was also pretty warm even though we took the am tour.
