Overview
This family-friendly airboat tour of the wetlands near New Orleans includes round-trip transportation from the city to save you the hassle of planning your own rides to and from the French Quarter. Once you’re out on the water, catch sight of wildlife such as alligators and nutria with help from your guide, who knows the ins and outs of this natural Louisiana landscape.
What to Expect

Meet for this airboat ride in New Orleans’ French Quarter. Once you board your air-conditioned bus, ride for 30 minutes to the fishing village of Jean Lafitte. This town, deep in the Louisiana wetlands, is a great place to begin to understand Cajun culture.

Before you head out on your airboat, your guide takes you to an albino alligator exhibit. You also have an opportunity to pick up some food or something to drink (own expense).

Board your airboat and take to the water through a bayou. Your guide stops along the way to show you native wildlife such as alligators and nutria. Hear stories about the area’s history and culture, as well as some swamp folklore.

Your tour ends with a car ride back to the French Quarter in New Orleans.

Please note before booking that children must be five years old or above to take this tour.

Fun Time

I wish we could have seen more action between our tour guide and the gators, however it was a fun experience. The small alligator we got to hold was a cool experience and the views were amazing.

This is Louisiana

We had a great tour guide who had an actual baby alligator for us to hold. He lives and grew up on the bayou, so his information was accurate. He was funny and honest and made the experience worth the sheets of rain.

Very cool!

Nice high speed ride with a bit of drifting :-) Crocodiles (sorry, gators) are included however they are very calm and lazy so don't expect any aggressive behavior.

Swamp trip

We enjoyed the fan boat ride. We were staying in the French Quarter so the transportation was very convenient. The tour was organized and the Captain was very knowledgeable. I was surprised how the alligators didn't shy away as the boats drove by. It only...More

It rains off and on in Louisanna. It started to before our trip on the boat. They waited it out. Once the "sheet of rain" passed we went on the boat. It started back up while on the tour, but it's rain that does not last... More
