A great way to explore Brooklyn
A wonderful tour, splendidly guided by our host, Mickey. We weren’t really sure what to expect, but we had an excellent time exploring Brooklyn, with food stops ranging from bagels to pizza to chocolate sorbet - all excellent. We’d highly recommend.

    Fantastic Tour
I’ve always wanted to take the time for a tour and I’m so glad we did. Our tour guide, Micki (?), was so knowledgeable a shared great stories on the history of the LES and the neighborhoods we toured. Saw parts of the city I’ve never seen. And the food was amazing! I’ll take another tour in the future.

    Excellent Tour.
Mickey was great, taking us to areas we’d not have visited on our own. She was informative and interesting, the food tasting was a bonus.

    Engaging history!
Well presented history of the immigrant neighborhoods of the Lower East Side. Small group size added to the relaxed but informative tour.

Excellent afternoon of food and history in Brooklyn
Mickey's tour was thoroughly entertaining, educational and very delicious. We experienced a wide variety of specialty foods along an interesting walking route. Mickey recounted many great stories along the way. The tour was well-paced and truly a terrific way to spend an afternoon!

A pleasant walk with a thoughtful guide
This was the only reasonably-reviewed tour of Brooklyn that suited my schedule and that I was able to find before leaving my country. It turned out to be fun. It was a hot day, but our guide made sure everyone got to stand in the shade while not getting in the way, providing enough time to sit. She spoke slowly. She often provided an extra portion of food (to which we mostly declined in order to save space for our stomachs). She made sure we knew where the restrooms are and where we could get free drinking water. Being sort of a senior person myself, I was afraid that the food may be too heavy, but it turned out to be a nice balance of light snacks often with a sour taste and the sweets were sophisticated. Our guide had an interesting habit of getting the 2nd digit of 4-digit years wrong, so some of the historical events she explained was exactly a century incorrect. But I soon caught that habit and was able to look it up myself later to find out facts. Since her 4th digit was always correct, it was easy to learn from her many hints. Perhaps there were places/food/drinks she skipped and questions she couldn't answer properly, but her storytelling was magnificent, and our group became a friendly bunch creating a pleasant atmosphere. The one thing I feel can be easily improved is the meeting spot. Although the address is clearly stated, no landmark was informed to us in advance, and it's not that there is a sign for the tour. (As our guide explained as part of the tour, it was a new shop that opened after the pandemic, and Google Street View showed nothing.) Upon arrival, I asked a boy standing next door to the address, and as he went back and forth trying to help me, it took some time until I asked a group of people if they happened to be the tour. This could be prevented if the guide held up a small card, or if our last-minute voucher showed the name of the shop. Overall, it was a great way to spend lunch time tasting bits and pieces of a variety of local food while consuming it through a walk in ordinary residential places, learning cultures and history old and new.

    Great Guide, love Brooklyn
Our Tour Guide, James Scully, was excellent! His knowledge & passion for the history & culture of Brooklyn was spot on and it was clear that his historical studies and active interest in creating stories, podcasts etc made him an ideal guide. Very personable and interested. We visited Brooklyn food outlets that had history & made their own ingredients & learned about the history of the area. Next time, I would stay in Brooklyn. I highly recommend this tour!

    Memorable Tour of Brooklyn
Our guide Brian met us on time and showed us around the Brooklyn neighbourhoods as advertised in the Get your Guide Tour. He was friendly, knowledgeable, generous and engaging. He had great relationships with the business proprietors we visited who were in turn friendly and generous with their time. We tasted the best salmon and cream cheese bagels ever, beautiful chocolates, excellent artisan bread and pastries as well as coal oven pizza and more. Bryan gave is an insight to the community and we felt a part of it for the three hours of the tour. Which I have to say passed too quickly. Thanks Brian!

Fun and tasty walk through Brooklyn's history
We had a great time with Mickey during our walking and eating tour of Brooklyn! It was fun to stroll through the various neighborhoods and learn the history of how they have changed or stayed the same over the years, and taste a variety of yummy bites from the curated local shops, delis and restaurants. We have done a number of Manhattan-based food/walking tours, so it was a treat to break out and learn about another borough all while filling our bellies! Mickey had a lot of great stories to share which made the history of Brooklyn come alive, and we visited places that our kids who live in the city never knew about! We'd definitely recommend this tour!

    Extremely enjoyable and knowledgeable
Micaela was a perfect guide! She is extremely knowledgeable about the history and delicious spots to go to in the area. She also gave us advice about how to get more involved in the local community, as we are new residents of the area. We couldn’t recommend this tour and Micaela highly enough!!

    Bruce Loves LES
A guide makes or breaks a tour - Bruce is a real maker! His knowledge of NYC runs deep, and his passion for the LES and its quirks and stories runs even deeper. I have never seen a man so passionately in love with Grand St, and oh boy does he make his case. He has a trove of at-the-ready anecdotes, but he also can address any random question with a just as good an anecdote and story. Last not least: he takes care of the logistics in a seamless stride, "buy water here", "here's napkins for the pizza", "what's your empanada order for 20 min from now" etc. Thanks Bruce!

The tour guide was amazing! He was very knowledgeable of the history concerning Hamilton. There was a broad age difference throughout our group and he did an astounding job at keeping children, teens, middle aged, and seniors attention and he added interesting general history facts as well. Give him a raise, he is the best!

We were in the City to celebrate our son's 18th birthday. He's a history buff so we thought this tour would be something fun to do before meeting up with the rest of the family for dinner.

Our tour guide Michael only very briefly asked where the 3 of us and the other party of 3 were from and didn't even wait for me to finish my sentence past we're from Long Island because I was going to elaborate that I work in the City and have spent all of my career in Manhattan. My wife, who is a teacher, felt he wasn't at all looking to connect with the audience and just wanted to stick to his script.

We didn't follow the itinerary in the order it is laid out above but did hit all of the stops. The one bathroom break was 1.5 hours into the 2 hour tour. I unfortunately had to go from the very beginning having run into a lot of unexpected traffic on the way in so we didn't have time to stop for a restroom and thus my walking pace was a bit slower but Michael just kept up with his pace so we sometimes fell behind.

There were fun facts we weren't aware of along the way and spots like Stone Street we didn't actually know about. Our history buff was having a bit of trouble hearing everything through the mask Michael had on so he admittedly tuned in and out.

The other area of improvement, especially with only 6 people, would be to offer a few photo ops along the way. The only time we were invited to stop for a picture was at the Stock Exchange by the Fearless Girl. The other party wasn't interested and Michael stayed over by them so we felt pressured to hurry up and couldn't really wait for folks to clear from the background. On most tours the guide offers to take shots for you and it's so much easier for them to ask folks to kindly step aside for a nice memorable shot. Trinity Church definitely would've made for a good picture along the way as well.

This tour has potential to be a nice outing for anyone interested in a bit of history and or more background for the musical. With the right approach from a guide who seeks to connect with the audience and deliver a little bit of what they've come for we'd recommend.

Hello Melissa, Thank you so much for bringing the issue with your tour leader to our attention. We apologize if this negatively impacted your trip to New York. We have arranged for additional training for Michael to help him improve as a guide and to prevent further issues from occurring. With thanks,

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour because it not only covered details about Alexander Hamilton but also about the history of New York City too. I don't think there was one question that our tour guide, Sam, didn't know the answer to! He provided those extra little details and made us think about looking up (and down!) wherever we were walking. The tour finishes at a tavern and Sam very kindly had a drink with us - he even recommended a brilliant drink + oysters deal. As a New Yorker, he had a huge list of food/day trips/sites he'd recommend which we found really helpful too.

We originally booked this tour thinking it would be linked to an interest in the theatre show and a desire to learn more about the real history. The tour was in fact not about the show, but rather Alexander Hamilton himself - the fact that one of us had not seen the show didn't hinder the enjoyment of the tour. Alex (our guide) was very informative whilst being friendly and professional, giving us loads of extra information throughout the tour, including recommendations of where to eat after the tour!! A very enjoyable way to spend a few hours learning

As a Hamilton mega-fan, this tour was a must for me. Booked through the ‘New York Pass’, the booking process was very straightforward and I managed to get a tour for the next day, which I was pleased with (prebooking more in advance is obviously advised, but I prefer to be a bit more spontaneous on my travels).

Our tour guide, Josh, was incredibly knowledgeable on all things Hamilton, and answered everyone’s questions thoroughly- as well as leading a great tour! What cemented this as a great tour for me was how friendly and inclusive he was with the group; Josh really made an effort to get everyone talking and pay special attention to things that may interest each person. He even gave me some great thrift shop and nightlife recommendations, which goes above and beyond a Hamilton tour!

Overall a great experience, which I’m sure would interest even those who aren’t a fan of the musical (yet), as it really illustrated the tale of America’s birth and the introduction of their financial system, within which Hamilton was, of course, instrumental.

Thank you for a great tour, Josh, it’s definitely been a highlight of my trip!

We booked this trip for our party of four which was hopefully going to be one of the highlights of our New York trip. Greg our tour guide didn't disappoint. Starting at Trinity Church and walking around many other pivotal locations we learnt the history of Alexander Hamilton which was well presented and educational. Greg our guide was like the fun history teacher you wish you had, he engaged well with all those on the tour and was entertaining and witty whilst remaining professional. The tour lasted around 2 hours which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and Alexander Hamilton. Unfortunately, as he told us, New York does not have places Hamilton lived/worked labeled. It was a lot of pointing out "he lived here" or "he worked here, but the actual building is not here now, this building was build 100 years later". The guide did a good job but aside from the cemetery/graves we did not see a lot directly linked to Hamilton. I guess we just wanted/expected a little more Hamilton.

We thank you for taking the time to write your feedback after coming on the Hamilton Tour. We are sorry this was a subpar experience and will always look to see how we can have the most conversational and engaging guides imparting Hamilton's story. Typically, people love this tour along with dynamic guides who have read Ron Chernow's Biography of Hamilton. And we will ensure our guides' level of enthusiasm matches their level of knowledge.

Hannah Levine was one of the best tour guides I have ever had! And I have been on a lot of educational tours. I have read Ron Chernow's entire book about Alexander Hamilton, and saw the movie too (of one of the live performances), She knew all the details about Hamilton's background, and about the causes of his duel with Aaron Burr. She also has training in theatre, which made our tour more exciting.

I recommend this tour to anyone who is already interested in learning more about Hamilton and his years in New York, AND to anyone who is looking for an introduction to Hamilton.

My friend is obsessed with the Hamilton musical and on his recent visit to NYC asked to go on this tour. I was nervous since it was a particularly cold day and we had a member of our party who needs pretty frequent breaks while walking. Not only was Mickey a great guide (funny, knowledgable, and personable) she made sure to stop in sunny spots to combat the cold and where there were benches so that we could rest during the two hour tour without even being asked. Highly recommended!
