Any city I travel too, I always try and find a food tour and after having a spare day in New York after I finished my work commitments, I booked myself on this tour. Not only do you get some immense food included in this tour, but you hear fascinating stories on immigrants that came to city many years ago. The guide was really informative, answered all my questions and provided on some tips of other restaurants to try on my next trip to NYC. A fab tour that I'd recommend to anybody that wants to get away from the normal tourist haunts and learn about something slightly different.

One of the best food tours I have had in any city! Alex, our tour guide was great - super knowledgeable and friendly! We learnt some interesting facts and history about New York from him with photos from across different periods, which I otherwise wouldn't have learnt of. The choice of food spots was interesting - it's not the typical NY food or places you would expect to be taken to, which made this tour unique for me - the selection of restaurants and food items too was inspired by the history of the city and how it has evolved over time. The tastings/portions were small, especially considering the tour price, but the focus on NY history, facts, and generally how interactive and fun the tour ended up being, made up for that!

I've taken many tours of New York (and other cities) and this tour was the best I've ever experienced. Micaela was knowledgeable, giving anecdotes of different neighborhoods, but she was exuberant and excited; her love of the city came through and we all felt happy.
The different foods were good and the neighborhoods interesting, but it was Micaela's enthusiasm that won the day.

Amazing tour through the lower east side, where I have lived for 34 years but did not know these culture hot spots, with incredible tastes and intense histories. I took my twin sister and it blew her mind too.. We both said that we have never had a better tour guide. Micaela was remarkably knowledgeable, energetic and totally passionate about NYC history. Every step we took told a story and she was able to illuminate it. THANK YOU!!

Astrid was fantastic! She has great local knowledge, interesting historical stories, and is generally just a pleasant person to hang out with for a few hours. She gave us lots of extra information and suggestions for the rest of our stay. The tour was diverse, interesting, and there is LOADS of food, arrive hungry!

Bruce was the perfect guide for our tour of the Lower East Side. Knowledgeable, interesting, and fun, plus he lives there! The food was great with samplings from the Irish, Jewish, Chinese and Italians. Bruce answered all of our questions and gave wonderful recommendations for the remainder of our trip, as well as a written account of all we did with him. He interacted with each member of our group and made sure all of us could hear and knew what others had asked about. This was a great tour and my family learned a lot. Definitely recommend Bruce and this tour.

Fabulous, interesting tour! Our guide Astrid was incredibly knowledgeable about the area. She wove a wonderful web of stories, anecdotes, and history as we walked through the Lower East Side. The food was all very tasty, though not as unusual or unique as I had hoped for (though I’m sure the pandemic has made this part of the tour more challenging). Still, I would recommend this tour for anyone interested in learning more about the history of New York and the LES.

Ace's, narration of the waves of immigration that have taken place on the Lower East Side was our favorite part if the food tour. Her knowledge of each of the ethnic group's history, challenges, and neighborhood story was fascinating. We enjoyed her sensitivity to different cultures and the care she took with us.

This was a great tour. I got to eat some delicious food and learn a lot about the history of New York. The tour guide, Bruce, did an awesome job of keeping the tour moving, but making sure everyone was together when he started talking.

We signed up for this tour because the Lower East Side is so rich in history, and truth be told, I pride myself in studying the history of places - especially NYC. So I was pleasantly surprised at the depth and breadth of our Urban Adventures guide, Brian Hoffman's, knowledge of the area. He was so approachable, so keenly interested in our group's questions about the immigrant experience and the foods tied to their stories. He also spent time at the end of the tour patiently answering everyone's questions about where to go to the best of NYC (fill in the blank with a food item). I learned a lot, I had a great time and will definitely look for more Urban Adventure tours when I travel.
