9/11 Memorial tour with private guide Rob Maass
What a great tour, Rob knows his story, but moreover a great storyteller. The impressive story already starts at St Paul Chapel. And Rob kept our attention the full tour. Thank you Rob Maass in sharing and giving us a lifetime experience.

    Informative and fun!
It was a wonderful tour. Our guide Anthony was very nice, caring and informative. The highlight was Statin Island: It is super interesting and important(!) to learn imigration history - especially nowadays. The view on the islands/ferry was awesome and the sun was having a party (making me and my brother sweaty as hell). P.s. Rembember the sunblock (50)

    Family History tour
Owen Thompson was outstanding as our tour guide. He is very knowledgeable and made the tour fun. He has a great sense of how to keep the group engaged with the historical information. There is so much history about the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. This was my favorite tour in NYC. I wish we would have had Owen in Italy last year when we were touring Rome.

A very informative and enjoyable tour around an area steeped with interesting facts
Really good. Justin was really eloquent and informative. He considered the heat of the day by ensuring we were in the shade as much as possible. Loads of photo opportunities abd a real insight into the history of the area, culminating into present times. Well worth it.

    Pretty good, pretty good
Pretty good little tour for the price. Did visit prime location in all boroughs yet the visit in Harlem seemed rushed verses other locations. Only drawback was wishing the bus was around for it was very hot outside.

    Excellent tour!
This was a fantastic tour, especially on a really hot day when you do not want to have to navigate the city alone. Jim Q and Alan were an excellent team. I enjoyed Jim’s humor and as a native New Yorker he was full of information. The day flew by and I enjoyed it immensely. Highly recommend.

State park ferry and tour of Statue of Liberty and Ellis island
The New Jersey side is really good if you’re staying in New Jersey. We checked out our hotel and drove to the parking lot about 11am. We paid for parking because the free lot has a 2 hour maximum. The ferry was nice. Ellis island really took 2-3 hours for us to do a deep dive into the history. Both my 9 year old and my 15 year old really enjoyed the tour. Wait to eat at the Statue of Liberty. The cafe is much better there. Food was fast and delicious. We bought the pedestal tour months earlier and the crown was sold out. LOTS OF STAIRS! I rode the elevator and the kids walked up. We saved the statue museum for next trip. Left about five o’clock. Worth it and a nice getaway day activity!

Awful customer service

So we missed the beginning of the tour- totally our fault- blame the jet lag. We accept that was our fault.

However there was absolutely no way of catching up with the group or even just getting the museum access that we had paid for as part of the tour.

Customer services on the day were appalling and we spent over two hours just hanging around outside the museum in the blistering heat.

To be honest the actual museum official tour looked excellent and if I had my time over, I would just do that

You were booked on a tour of Lower Manhattan which does visit the memorial but does not go inside the museum. You did not have museum tickets with us. You also did not reach out to the office at any point. We are always available by phone or live chat to help guests catch up to tours and to arrange for tickets they have purchased. If you had contacted us we could have clarified what you had ordered so you wouldn't have stood in the heat outside a venue you did not have tickets for.

It was a very enjoyable and informative tour. Our guide Ray was able to strike a good balance between humor and seriousness when it comes to the heavier topics. I was able to learn a lot especially about 9/11, and have come to appreciate the city’s long history and its resilience. The itinerary was also well designed so that we don’t waste too much time walking around and still get the chance for photos or exploration

We did this tour of the Wall Street area, 9/11 memorial site guided by Paul from ExperienceFirst. He was very informative, knowledgeable and entertaining…he managed the group with enthusiasm and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. He explained everything clearly and ensured that everyone was included. He ensured that we had our tickets and information for the self guided part of the tour to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. He is a credit to his organisation and it was a pleasure to meet him - in particular his memories of the events of 9/11 as a NYC resident who was here when it happened was very emotive. Thank you to Paul for a very interesting morning. John & Mo. Jersey, British Channel Islands.

My son and I did the 9/11 tour with James. Highly recommend James. This tour perfectly covered the events of the day in a manner that was respectful. James was thoughtful to the needs of our group, kept an eye of keeping everyone together and offered humor when times called for it. So much was learned during this tour.

Our tour guide Tim was great! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and most all entertaining! Others would turn to our group just to listen to the history he provided to us on our tour around the city. The tour took you to just the right spots you wanted to go and when you wanted to be there with over crowding. Furthermore, the tour did not make you feel rushed and as if you couldn’t enjoy all the sites and sounds. Highly recommended, and will definitely feel as if you received your money’s worth.

Our tour was the 9/11 Memorial and a prelude to going into the museum itself. Our guide Richard did a terrific job on a horribly rainy day! This tour is a tough one already with a subject that has deeply emotional connections to everyone in different ways. Richard gave us his off personal perspective that helped frame the day in a way that was safe without triggering anyone into tears. This allowed us to listen to interesting historical and architectural facts about the area while also appreciating the context of how the area fit into this tragic day. Our tour group was a mix of tourists from other countries as well as young and old Americans and Richard did a good job finding dry areas for us to stand in while still being able to proceed with the tour and view the area. I wish we had been able to enjoy the tour on a warm sunny day with great weather but at least we were still able to complete the tour which was a great lead in before going into the museum itself.

Justin, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable of the city. He explained the history of Wall St, and 9/11 memorial amazing well. The tour was very interesting and he offered restroom breaks and opportunities to take pictures. He had so much enthusiasm that you focused on everything he was saying. I will definitely book another tour next visit to the city .

The Lower Manhattan Walking Tour: Wall Street and 9/11 (2 hours with Tim) was an incredible experience, by far the best of all the activities I joined in New York City. Not only did Tim weave a grand historical story that crossed centuries, but he conveyed the spirit of the City in a way that brought together all its depictions that I had seen in music, cinematography, literature... This tour was a fabulous glimpse at what the "New Yorker" identity means.
I enjoyed the second part of the 4.5-hour package (ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, with the option to access the respective museums), yet I would have preferred to spend an extra hour (or more) walking and listening to Tim. (On the day of my tour in April 2024, the wait in line for the ferry was extra long--just over an hour.)

Tim M. was a phenomenal (9/11 Memorial and Wall Street) tour guide. He is not only extremely knowledgeable, but he also effectively shared very powerful and meaningful stories of survivors and victims and interspersed them throughout the tour. He shared interesting information at each stop and spent a perfect amount of time explaining what we saw and letting us t absorb the experience. He also shared several visuals to elucidate his stories and focused not only on the tragedy but also on the heroism. He highlighted the resilience of our nation in the face of adversity. Tim M. was excellent tour guide!

Tim M. told such amazing relatable stories to share the tragedy that has been turned into this beautiful memorial area. He really spoke to all ages and group members and found a way to connect with everyone. We were traveling with my 10 year old daughter and he made all the stories relatable even to her.
