Overview
An independent trip to the beautiful Muir Woods National Monument requires advance reservations, and finding parking in Sausalito can be difficult. Easily visit both must-see locations with this guided tour from San Francisco, which includes skip-the-line access at Muir Woods and a hassle-free stop at the charming waterfront town. At each destination, enjoy free time away from your group, so you can explore at your own pace.
What to Expect
Start your Muir Woods National Monument and Sausalito tour with pickup from Union Square. Drive over the Golden Gate Bridge and catch sight of Alcatraz on the way to Muir Woods.

Upon arrival, bypass the entrance lines and head inside to wander the forest grounds at your own speed. See California’s old-growth redwood trees, and take in the fresh air.

Next, get back in your vehicle for the ride to the Sausalito waterfront. Again, you can explore at your own pace as you walk the waterfront. Pop into art galleries or snag a snack or a drink (at your own expense).

Afterward, your tour ends with a ride back to San Francisco. If you’ve upgraded to take the ferry, you’ll ride enjoy a boat ride back to the city.

Sorry, cannot answer this. Our tour left hotel at 8.30. As its half day I would presume departures will be fairly early as the tour companies will use the buses for afternoon tours. Also our particular tour had to drop... More

Yes! I didn’t rent a car the entire time. I used Lyft when going to and from the airport only.
