      Great experience!
We went on the tour out of Edmonds, and would highly recommend. The crew was friendly and knowledgeable and we saw gray whales actually socializing, which we were told is rare as they are solitary animals.

      Great people, amazing experience.
It was foggy, and I spent one hour looking for wildlife. BUT... The staff on board was amazing, the huckleberry buckle was fantastic, and the boat was excellent. A big shout out to the blond lady from Minnesota (I'm sorry, but I can't remember her name) – very knowledgeable and friendly. Despite the bad weather and poor visibility, the captain did his utmost best to find the whales, liaising with other boats to get to the right spot. When we found them, we saw FIVE. Among them was a female with its calf. Near the coast of Canada, we saw a male orca and lots of sea lions. Unforgettable experience.

      Very accommodating
We were scheduled to go out on a Sunday but the weather was bad so the trip was canceled but we were able to reschedule for Monday. I had been fighting a cold/sinus infection for a few days after our arrival in Seattle, and by Monday morning I was coughing and sneezing something terrible. My wife and I didn’t think it would be fair to the other passengers to spend 4 hours around me. I called the company, explained the situation and they were nice enough to refund our money even though we were not within the 48 hour cancellation period. Unfortunately we were leaving the area the next day, so we missed out at going on the trip.

      Incredible experience!!
We were a bit worried if we would get to see any wildlife this late in the season, but I'm so glad we took the chance and booked anyways!! It was a beautiful warm fall day on the water, and we were able to see an orca, humpback and minke whale, along with seals/sea lions, a bald eagle, and other birds. The crew and naturalists were welcoming, knowledgeable, and gave the experience an all-around great vibe. Love that there is a comfortable interior area out of the wind and plenty of room for everyone to view wildlife on the outer decks. 100% worth the money and would come again if ever in the area.

      Saw some Orcas!!!
A friend and I took the cruise. It was a really nice, comfortable experience. The ship is great with warm indoor seating or deck options. Everyone goes out when there is a sighting. Hot coffee, cocoa and snacks. We saw two separate pods of orcas, one actually feeding on a seal. It was a once in a lifetime experience. would definitely recommend to others.

      Amazing trip on Glacier Spirit!
We loved our trip on the Glacier Spirit! The captain and crew were excellent. Very knowledgeable and friendly. They were happy to answer any questions we had. That day we saw 10+ humpback whales, sea lions, otters, and seals. I also recommend the homemade blueberry buckle they make! Super delicious!

      SPECTACULAR VIEWS: AWESOME PEOPLE
Beyond AMAZING!! I had not been to the area we covered, although my companion had; thought perhaps she had embellished the spectacular beauty somewhat, but, if anything, it was understated! Combined with the awesome folks who ran this trip, it was truly a once in a lifetime trip: great food; great service; and awesome views of wildlife and the spectacular Pacific Northwest!!

      An "Unprecedented" Experience of Play
Totally amazing experience!! While no one can predict where the wild whales will be, our Captain found them! We were fortunate and got to "hang-out" for an hour and 15 minutes straight with a mother and baby humpback who were just breaching and waving and generally having a grand old time - for 1:15!!! Staff said this was unprecedented. Seals, sea lions and otters were "bonus sightings" that day. :-) Staff was knowledgeable, professional, and Capt. Carl made himself totally approachable for curious questions. Was a great experience from one end to the other! Thanks so much - will definitely ride with you again on future excursions!! - SB

Puget Sound Express is by far the best Whale Watching Tour I’ve ever experienced from the Seattle area. This was my second tour with PSE. My sister and I took the half-day tour from Port Townsend. This was her first whale watching experience. PSE took great care with social distancing with assigned seating. They also offered an optional lunch you can prepay and order ahead of your trip. Don’t forget to also order their amazing homemade Blueberry Buckle (coffee cake) that is so delicious. What an experience: The crew was so professional and narrated everything we were seeing along the way. They gave us all ample time to come out on deck when they were approaching a whale siting. We saw Grey Whales and then, we hit the “Mother Load” when we came upon a pod or two of 7-10 transient Orca whales!! We spent about an hour around the Orca’s!! They were able to identify the Orca pods they located by the markings on their fins. I was able to check seeing the Orca’s off my bucket list! I HIGHLY recommend this company for your whale watching experience. It was amazing!!

I have done an excursion with PSE before, but this time was rather disappointing. We did the 8 hour San Juan Island tour and quickly realized at our first stop that the outdoor speakers on the boat were not working. We reported it to the staff right away as you literally could not hear anything when they were supposedly telling us where to look and what we were looking at. No one did anything to fix this issue even after our 2-hour stop at Friday harbor. This proved to be even more disappointing when my husband and I spent a reasonable amount of time outside on the deck, actively looking for whales, but because we weren’t inside and couldn’t hear the announcement of a sighting, everyone else rushed over to the correct side before we even knew what was going on. It didn’t really seem fair that the people who had been outside freezing on the deck got the worst viewing spot just because of the boat’s broken equipment. Any information our guide provided was pretty much worthless unless you were inside the cabin to hear it. It’s frustrating to have paid $500+ for 4 people to enjoy what was pretty much a glorified boat ride. If I just wanted to see whales from a distance with no info/guidance, I could’ve stuck around closer to home. That being said, we do not plan on going back to PSE again.

We had signed up for the 8 hour whale watching trip out of Port Townsend on a Thursday which got moved to a Monday because of engine trouble then the 8 hour got canceled because to many people had canceled due to the smoke from the wildfires and moved to a 4 hour instead. Even though we only saw the fin of a Minke whale towards the end of the 4 hours the crew was AWESOME a special shout out to Wendi and Chris. The company always kept us up to date on what was happening and trying their best to accommodate us with all the changes we had to make. We received a voucher for a return trip, which we will use when we return next year.
We highly recommend this company for your whale watching experience.. none better

Our group of six (friends/family) took the 8hr (w/2hr stop at Friday Harbor for lunchtime) whale watching tour on July 11. We debated on a shorter tour but were so glad we took the full day tour. Time went by fairly quickly and it was a beautiful day! We loved the time at Friday Harbor. It's a cute town w/lots of good restaurants, shops and a charming feel. We saw lots of different groups of Orcha Whales on our way to Friday Harbor and a Gray Humpback Whale on our way back to Port Townsend. We also saw Puffins and other wildlife. It was great! Our captain took the time to spot and follow the whales so we could get lots of pictures and enjoy as much time as we could being near them, which was perfect! I loved the crew, they were so nice, accommodating and very informative. The boat and facilities on board were very clean. We wore masks and social distanced at the booths w/tables on board. They put plexiglass up between the tables due to COVID19 and had lots of hand sanitizer. They split our group of 6 into 3 across the small isle in between so we were close enough to visit. The weather was so nice we were able to spend lots of time out of the cabin on deck. I would highly recommend to anyone booking with Puget Sound Express! They are all around great at what they do!

I booked the all day whale watching tour from Port Townsend to Friday Harbor and back. The check in location was very easy to find and very walkable from all the downtown historical district hotels. Check-in process was simple inside the gift shop. Captain Colleen and her crew were fabulous (sorry I am forgetting your names crew!). The lady quickly noticed I was getting sea sick and supplied to me tools and tickets & tricks to help calm it down. I am immensely grateful for that.

The two hours on Friday Harbor was the perfect amount of time. However, do plan for about 90 minute to be taken up by getting lunch at a sit-down restaurant because it does get busy and quick.

We ended the trip by seeing about 3 pods of whales for about 1 hour roughly 10 minutes from Port Townsend. Puget Sound Express worked hard to locate the whales and they definitely delivered on the viewing experience. I will always recommend this company to friends, family, and followers on social media

Grey whale watch was fabulous! We saw a female grey whale, and later a pod of three male grey whales. Later we saw a group of transient orcas. The cabin of the boat was heated so warm and cozy! The deck had plenty of viewing room. The guide works in research and was very informative. I learned so much! What a joy to see these magnificent creatures, and then to hear knowledgeable experts explain the habits and behavior by name. One of the whales came to the Saratoga passage early this year and was alone for a month, then the others joined him and he was playing with them this day. This was a great day and I will definitely recommend to friends and family.

My husband and I took our family of four, with two young girls! They had an amazing time! We made sure to bundle up as suggested in the itinerary, although it was needed, the Captain did an amazing job of maneuvering the vessel away from the wind while we watched. We did spot several Grey Whales which were amazing and breathtaking, we also had a special surprise of feeding Orcas and a preying Eagle! The Crew was amazing with cleanliness and knowledge. They were very polite and we EXTREMELY recommend the Blueberry Buckle and Signature Coffee Mug as we will definitely be back!

From making our reservation to disembarking this is one classy operation that is committed to making the customer feel special. Captain Colleen and Crew Wendy were superb and attentive and informative and clearly happy to be sharing a day on the water with 40 passengers on an all-day whale watching cruise. Not only did we stare in amazement at a pod of Orca for an hour or so, but viewed bald eagles, sea lion and seals, and one (wish there would have been more) puffin.

Be sure to make your reservations well in advance. Highly recommended.

I went on the full day Whale Watching adventure from Port Townsend to Friday Island. The Captain was so much fun and the crew was very informative and welcoming. We were able to see 3 Killer Whales hunt, pursue, and eat their prey! Crazy cool! Also saw many sea lions and even a Puffin! The Captain worked hard and made sure to get us the best view while maintaining a safe and respectful distance from the animals. Would 100% recommend going on this adventure and I would hands down go again!
