About the operator
- Anlewi00Highly recommended! The tour is just perfectly we'll organized and all people involved are soooo kind, responsive and helpful (managers, drivers, guides, restaurant staff). I ended up going on the 3 day tour alone, because no one else booked it and after I worried at first, I felt soooooo comfortable after a couple of minutes because every step is so well organized and communicated that you just feel comfortable and safe. My driver Reza dropped me at the Java Port and made sure I got on the correct ferry and in Java Aly the driver was already waiting for me and communicating with me via Whatsapp. From then on it's a lot of driving, but made as comfortable as possible and the reward of the stunning volcanoes is just amazing. Bromo just blew my mind. The guides Untung, Pur & Hary we're just perfect as well and had a lot of knowledge and took care of the whole group safety wise. Accomodations is simple on this trip as announced and the staff is so nice. Food is always local and good, especially the dinner and breakfast at Ijen which is provided in a restaurant run by Aly and his wife. Highly recommend it and again thanks to everyone and special thanks to Aly for driving me for hours across Java!
- cherrakm202300One of the Best experience in my lifeAmazing trips to Bromo and Kawah Ijen. The organisation or everything (trips/hotels/lunchs) was perfect, everything is excellently rounded. Thanks to all my guides from Bromo and Ijen. Also thank you to my drivers Aly and the other one from Bali. All of them were so friendly, kind, and professional, i couldn’t expect a better experience than that. Merci beaucoup IndoTravelTeam.
- Shalini V00The magical trip to Bromo and Kawah IjenI could say a million things but the success of any tour is how they ensure a great experience for every traveller and that's what Info travel does. They work with the locals as well and ensure that they are well compensated. Our trip manager Archer is the bestest. He is soo awesome and kind. I am a vegetarian and he ensured that I had my food managed at each locations.also I was the weakest link on the group in terms of fitness and he did everything to ensure I was comfortable. They are the best 😊
- 90accccc00Book Bromo and Kawah Ijen, but with a different companyI did 3D2N tour to Bromo and Kawah Ijen. THE GOOD: this is a must see in Indonesia. On this tour the local guides were incredible: Epi personally adds value to the time spent on the road explaining about the culture, plantations, etc and ensures there are breaks while on the roads; the guides on Kawah Ijen make you feel safe and share their knowledge too. THE BAD: The tour is nearly 2X more expensive vs others and the value for money isn’t there. The manager (Pierrick) is rude towards his customers, not open to feedback, and should really not work in tourism. In retrospect, I would book with a local tour operator in Bali. I just hope most of the money goes to the local guides and driver… Good Karma guesthouse at Bromo is terrible: I had no hot water in my room (and was not fixed when mentioned to them) and some other rooms didn’t have water at all. The walls are super thin and the rooms incredibly humid and cold - they don’t even provide electric heaters which they do have in other accommodations. Pierrick will tell you this is the best you can get in this area - don’t believe him. They do have heavy clothes you can borrow though. Finally, the whole group needed a shower and change of clothes after Kawah Ijen, which is a basic need: everything will smell of sulphur + sweat from hiking, and you will have to sit in a van for another 7-8 hours! Since we had 1.5h between arriving at the hotel after the hike and departure, and it was well before checkout time, it seemed like a natural request to ask to take a shower before/after breakfast. Apparently it was not: Pierrick was rude towards us, cursed us in French and in English, practically shoved our breakfast plates in our faces, and told us to ‘let him do his job’. I’m glad that other customers like me don’t accept such behavior, because we finally talked some sense into him, and grudgingly he let us shower 😅. I hope he now includes this in all his Kawah Ijen overnight tours.
- Nadine-Yvonne-H00Worst tour - would never recommend to anybodyWe were looking forward to this highlight of our Indonesia trip seeing an active volcano and the blue flames, but we turned out to be the worst spent days of the whole trip. Travel time: The travel time listed on the trip can never be the exact time. Even without any traffic it took as minimum 1.5x of the written time. But due to a national holiday & school holiday travel time went up from 8 hours to 19 hours on the first day and on the second and third from 4 hours to 9 hours each. We expected a heads up information about such specialty, but instead we got no information and even worst we were told by the boss he didn't know. Driver and tour guides told us different. Weather: Same for the weather situation. It was raining for 2 weeks straight. Boss told us he didn't know, but all other people told us different. Tour guides: At the Bromo Tour we had one tour guide with us. Due to rain, the ways being slippery and the darkness one girl of the group was too afraid to go further. The tour guide left her alone on top of the volcano without even talking to her. At Ijen the rain started to be even heavier which made the hike up very dangerous (said by the local tour guide). And even if we went up, we started the tour too late to see the blue flames or a sunrise. Btw it was days before we started the tour that the highlight (blue flames) cannot be seen due to the rain and the late hike up, which nobody told us either. Food and accommodation: Food is very very basic, meaning you get the cheapest fried rice and noodles. There was rather no fresh food and for breakfast we got eggs and a toast. The advertised local food was just the cheapest food to get in Indonesia (even in our jungle tour we had better food). Accommodations are also the cheapest of all. We looked it up and the ones we stayed in costed 10EUR per 2person room per night. The question arise where all the money we paid for the trip was spent on. Operator: Of course for weather conditions and traffic the tour operator is not to blame, nevertheless we expected a more active communication approach before the tour or at least a cooperative and honest during the trip. He could not understand our frustration and blamed us because we did not hike up Ijen. Once he told us everything is safe, the next sentence he talked about all the dangerous things that could happen. At the one hand he didn't know about traffic, weather, etc., next moment the tells us we can be happy because the tours the days/weeks before took even longer than us. We felt really uncomfortable during the trip and where just happy to be back in Bali. Even after two months now looking back to the trip I am disappointed how the operator only looked on the profit he could make and not on the guests he es accommodating (or at least he is giving that feeling to myself and the rest of our tour). I expected different after reading all the good comments here.
- 75vladj00Amazing volcano experienceA truly wonderful experience. Everyone was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful, especially our guides and driver Eppi. A must do if you are visiting Bali!
- 396vitalinam00Amazing experience!Unbelievable! Definitely exceeded my expectations! We had an amazing experience! The trip was well organised and everything was prepared, we literally didn’t care about anything, even worm clothes! It was a pleasure to spent this 3 days with professionals! Special THANK YOU! To Alex and Oppy! U made our trip unforgettable!
- darenauguste00A credit to everyone involved with particular thanks to Fani making this a memorable tour.Fani and her team were nothing short of perfect. A lot of planning goes into this trip and Fani told me that Pierrick and the local guides went to great lengths to ensure that the driver, food, accommodation and the volcano tour guides all worked seamlessly. We started our journey in Ubud as the first couple in the minivan and along the way picked up other travellers until we all got to Bromo. Along the way we stopped and had some of the most delicious locally cooked food you could imagine. Forget the surroundings, heat, flies, (and toilet facilities 🫣). The food is simple but tastes divine. During our very long trip (around 10-11 hours with breaks) Fani gave us some excellent information about the areas we passed through, the customs and celebrations, the culture and respect of the different religions all living in harmony, the lifestyles of the Javanese and Balinese and her own beliefs. As me and my partner were by ourselves during this early part of the tour it was wonderful to listen to Fani as she told us about her early childhood and how it’s shaped her into doing what she enjoys and her own connection with Bromo. We both love hearing about other cultures and any opportunity we have to learn both culture and language goes a long way in understanding our own. The first stop in accommodation at the base of Bromo was a little bit unexpected. I expected a pretty rundown room with all manner of problems. I also expected noise. It had neither. The shower was hot, the toilet was not a hole in the ground (see earlier) and the room although basic was clean. There was no noise. It was peaceful and I slept as well as could be expected on the eve of a volcano tour. Dinner at a local restaurant was delicious, chicken and vegetables with rice. The early start up Bromo was not difficult although I did get a chance to ride a small horse for the first time in my life, part of the way. The views at the edge of Mount Bromo are nothing short of spectacular. Fani explained that going at this time allows us to witness the sunrise, something that many tourists do not or are unwilling to do. Trust me, get up early and witness this! It’s a photographers dream and anyone with a mobile phone is a photographer!! Our next stop was to the Kawah-Ijen region. The accommodation here was upgraded from the original itinerary, a very nice surprise as this was the type you’d happily pay good money for. The climb up Kawah-Ijen is far more arduous but no less spectacular. There were a lot of people this time as a warning was in place due to the volatility of the volcano earlier on. For this reason we did not see the blue fire. However, the acid lake is something to behold, as one other reviewer stated, it’s like being on a different planet. Hary the local volcano guide and his team were amazing, helping both myself and my partner up the steep paths which also included (at very little cost) a ‘taxi’ all the way to the top. There are picture opportunities abound if you’re prepared to wait a little. The journey down is much easier. After a few hours, which included breakfast, dinner and some more of Fani’s extensive knowledge of Java and Bali our tour ended. These are memories that will stay with us forever. My partner was apprehensive but Fani and her team, including a very commanding Hary who was determined to guide my partner up a particular difficult part of the path, made us both feel comfortable throughout. We could not have asked for a more engaging guide in Fani and a more well planned and organised and exhilarating tour. Thank you.
- Yan Yu C00Wonderful experience with great people and amazing sceneryOur 3-day private tour with Indotravelteam from Surabaya - Bromo - Ijen - Bali was an unforgettable experience filled with mesmerising memories, laughters and surprises. Pickup, transport and local guides were seamless and catered to our needs. Clear communication before and during the trip. Simple and decent food provided. The meals prepared by the local Java family at Ijen were fantastic (shoutout to the jackfruit dish). Special thanks to Organiser Pierrick, patient and skilful drivers Rudy and Mashal, dedicated guides Samsi and Monot. And to Onggat, Roi and Ali (forgive me if I spell wrongly). Their deep knowledge of the landscape, excellent photography skills, passion for the land and their work, and lovely personalities truly inspired us. Will travel with them again for sure.
- G2301GRjuliend00Fight Gunung Agung !Very challenging climbing by night but reaching the top for sunrise is much worth it ! Amazing view on all Balinese volcanoes as well as Rinjani from Lombok! Technical path but very skilled local guide that will always keep the good words to achieve it. Great experience for all trekkers in Bali :)
- Liam_Hobkirk00Just great. Amazing tripSo our trip was excellent everything was provided from ferry’s, all the food and accommodation, best of the best tour guides and drives. This is a very well set up tour down to the T. I can’t rate this enough. As a solo guest the company and laughs with the fellow drives and guides made it well while. We skipped all the busyness of other tours by going at different times and what a difference this makes. Thanks guys I would recommend this to anyone, solo, couples and groups
- daveaY4640QE00Breathtaking !!The guides were amazing and very friendly. The views were breathtaking. The accommodation were simple but worked for me ! I definitely recommend and would do it again myself !! Thanks Fani, Harry & the rest of the team for the Amazing experience 🌋
- Jialatsia00Highly recommendedVery well organised 24hr trip to ijen from bali. Even though the other people of the tour cancelled, they still proceeded with the tour for me and conducted it so professionally and smoothly I cannot imagine it having gone any better. The blue flames at ijen is closed at the moment so we only get to start the hike at 4am but it was worth it and the landscapes were epic!! Thank you team for organising this amazing tour. Highly recommended as a side excursion on your trip to Bali!!
- ryandN7749BT00An epic proposalPierrick and the Indo Travel Team planned an amazing proposal for me. My girlfriend and I got engaged at the top of Kawah Ijen. The team organized a photographer and a drone videographer to meet us at the top of the mountain. They coordinated with the entire tour team, so the photographers were already at the top when we got there, making for an incredible surprise. Our guide on the mountain, Harry was great and helped ensure we got the best photos possible. I would recommend the Indotravel team and you're looking to organize a special, unique memory!
- AnaG472100The best hiking everIf you are in doubt if to do this tour or not. Just go for it, yes you will be a bit tired but nothing impossible. The organization of this team is very good. Everything is explained in written, without any hidden fees. Is a life experience and I couldn't be happier :)

Our local guides were friendly, solicitous and very helpful. They made sure that everybody got to the crater and knew all the best places to take the perfect photos (and were more than happy to take them for us)!
However, it should be noted that the tour was conducted mostly in French, except for relevant safety information which was translated into English. There were five of us (out of sixteen total) who did not speak French, and this was very awkward for us, because we could not participate in any conversations. The tour was not described as French language tour when I booked, so this was a bit frustrating.
If not for the French fiasco I would happily give 5 stars. What a great hike! Sublime views at the top.

Wow, thank you so much for your heartwarming feedback on our epic expedition to the volcanoes of Java!
Here at our adventure hub, we celebrate diversity and embrace the beautiful tapestry of cultures that our participants bring from all around the world. We don't select based on origins, languages, or religions because we believe that the magic lies in the vibrant "mixtures" of backgrounds that make each journey unique and unforgettable.
It's incredible to witness the beautiful symphony of languages and the camaraderie that blossoms when adventurers from different corners of the globe come together. Whether it's English, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, French, or any other language, we cherish these linguistic encounters as a true adventure within the adventure.
And guess what? For some participants, these multicultural exchanges become an inspiring incentive to learn new languages beyond their own! The power of travel extends far beyond just exploring places; it also opens our hearts and minds to new possibilities and lifelong connections.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey, and for embracing the spirit of unity and discovery that binds us all together. Your presence and enthusiasm make every expedition shine even brighter, and we can't wait to embark on more unforgettable adventures with you in the future!
With heartfelt appreciation and endless wanderlust,

Amazing tour, my best experience in my 2 weeks Bali trip, Rian is the best driver ever:) The tour guides were very professional taking care of the whole team, helping with showing the best photo spots and taking photos as well. To get to the top is like 1,5 hours but if its too hard for you, you can take a “taxi” for IDR800.000. Take some warn clothes because when you get there you will be freezing pretty much. Thanks guys!

This was an epic trip to Kawah Ijen! The organisation of the tour and the guides were excellent. For example, the guides were receptive to the needs of the hikers by taking breaks on the way up and checking in when descending into the crater. As others have written in their reviews, if leaving from Seminyak or Ubud be prepared for long journeys to and from Ijen (+5hrs) but being in the crater when the sun comes up is a memory you won't forget fast - truly amazing experience. And if your memory isn't great, the guides are excellent at getting the spots and taking the best pictures. Do it!

Blue fire is happening because of the heat of the crater of lien combined with sulfur to create the effect of blue flame on the surface. This phenomenon can only be seen before sunrise.

We really enjoyed the Ijen crater tour. The indo travel team we’re fantastic. We travelled from Ubud, Bali on the 24h trip and our driver was lovely. It was a long day but worth it. Unfortunately we couldn’t go down into the crater or see the blue flames for safety concerns, but the trip was still worth it. Our tour guides were ex-miners and explained how the conditions were in the mines and what it was like to work in them. Pierrick met us at the hotel and was great to chat with him. The hotel and food provided was really good. If you’re looking a for a bit of adventure, this is the company to go with!

I really liked my trip to Kawah Ijen.
Our driver and our guides were really kind, helpful and it felt like they really wanted us to have the best experience.
It is a pretty long ride with the van but totally worth it.
The local dinner and breakfast were really good and came at the right time.
I can recommend this trip :)
