This museum was very interesting! We have been wanting to do it for years. We are so glad we finally went. They do offer a military discount or you can find discount tickets (ex. Groupon). You can purchase tickets ahead of time or at the door. Before going in you get a "boarding ticket" that gives you an identity of a real life passenger. At the end of the tour you get to see if your passenger survived or parrished in the accident. If your passenger survived, you can learn about the lifeboat in which they escaped and thier life after they were rescued. The tour is self paced with pre-recorded audio. There are many pictures, replicas, and some original artifacts in the museum. They even have a brand new exhibit related to the Titanic movie. You can sit in a life sized replic of a lifeboat. They have a simulated iceberg that can be touched. You can plunge your hand into 28 degree water to simulate how cold the water was the night the Titanic sank.

They handled the virus issues very well, letting in small groups at a time. The listening devices are fine, but the content isn't always paced well. The price was very fair. The exhibits are well done, displayed nicely to allow a lot of people to look at once, and very well labeled with some good historical information.
I don't know that I would recommend this for pre-teen and younger kids, as it's not terribly interactive and kids today get bored easily.

Of course, we'd seen the movie and had our kids watch it before we visited Branson. I'm glad we did. When you arrive, you are greeted by staff in period costumes that inform you of which passenger you are, which makes the whole experience a bit more fun as you learn their fate.

Before going in, the staff explained the listening devices and I kept waiting for "...and they are only $20 dollars), but that didn't happen! I recommend grabbing one since it was nice to hear more information on almost anything in the exhibit.

As you enter, there is a model of the Titanic, which is really incredible.

Farther in, some highlights as you progress take you from the 3rd class (those rooms! oh boy, I would not have fit.) up through second class, and finally first class and beyond. There are tidbits to learn all over, and it is well worth stopping to learn what you can. They had a Jewish kitchen?!? Who knew?

The exhibit ends on a really cool high note with the captain's view (and beyond). I don't want to give it away, but when you see it, there is something out there that I just don't understand...at least its purpose and what they are trying to convey to us.

In any case, this was really great I'd suggest trying to go as early as possible. We were there right when it opened and I think that probably works best.

Well, my review is completely opposite of most reviewers. This museum is filled with SOOO MUCH INFORMATION!! Good thing and a bad thing. The listening guide was helpful to a certain extent. I didn't get to listen to the entire guide on the audio player. It is practically impossible to read everything and learn everything about the titanic in one day. I became extremely overwhelmed as there was just too much stuff, info, and people in the museum. iIf you have a short attention span this museum is not for you. If you want your money's worth, you have to stay there all day, go by yourself so you don't have to worry about your family leaving you. I am not sure when is a good time to go to avoid the crowds if you do not like crowds. Some of the facts were interesting, the pictures, and memorabilia was nice. The museum and tourist attractions in Branson are so not worth the price. They do not offer good discount or coupons like Gatlinburg, St. Louis, or other tourist attractions I have been to. I must warn you, they charge an extremely high, unexplainable amount for sales taxes and tourist taxes (2 taxes for 1 transaction). Forget inflation. This is beyond inflation! I am so unhappy with my visit to Branson. I will not support them with any future visit. I really do not see what the hype is about. Looking at all the attraction buildings on the strip (West Highway 76) is more exciting than the 3 museums I visited today (July 13, 2022. I am so disappointed in the attractions for today. See other reviews on Wonder works and The aquarium at the boardwalk. You definitely have to read those. I have spent soooo much money out here and I could have had a disney vacation possibly for cheaper... I am kind of disappointed with myself for spending this kind of money but I wanted the experience, and it was a trip planned for my Mom for her birthday and I just wanted to show her and my sons a good time. She is enjoying herself. Me, not so much. The best thing so far, Butterfly Palace. Review will be posted on that.

Military and home school educator discounts available. We had been to the other Titanic museum in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Between the two, you really get the whole story. This one in Branson has artifacts pulled from the floating debris and focuses on many of the groups that were on board. The owner has done a fantastic job at honoring the memory of the lost and tell the rest of the stories of the survivors. The museum is interactive and great for all ages. I highly recommend visiting here for many facts you probably never knew about the Titanic and then watch the movie again to catch all of the historic relevance James Cameron got into the movie. It was all fascinating.

We had visited the Titanic museum in Belfast, Ireland where the Titanic was built and the museum was great. We weren't sure if this could top that or even compare. But we felt it was better in many ways.
We absolutely LOVED this place. The guides are dressed in period costumes and are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. From the time you buy your ticket to the very end, you are immersed in this experience. We were really impressed by the emphasis on the personal connections and artifacts. There are so many more artifacts than the museum at Belfast.
The creators of this museum have totally vetted and researched every artifact here. There are special spaces which appeal to kids, but we loved them too. There is a container of water set to the temperature of the ocean at the time of sinking and a meter to see how long you can keep your hand in it. I lasted about five seconds. There is a replica of the grand staircase. Even the elevators are made to look like those on the ship.
I cannot say enough about this place - I'm a docent at two museums and I usually walk through with a critical eye. This passed with flying colors. Merlene was an excellent guide and we loved hearing her share her knowledge with us in several areas.
We will definitely go again. Absolutely entralling!

We loved it! Many of the artifacts here are a result of the museum owner’s own expedition to the Titanic ruins. It is chocked full of information, photos, audio accounts, interactive exhibits, and museum docents dressed the parts. The boarding pass received at the entrance makes the experience more personal - were you a survivor, or not? One of my favorite rooms was the music room. The docent played a song on the piano that passengers heard on the Titanic.

The only complaint I have is certain rooms NOISE levels made it HARD TO HEAR either a speaking docent, an exhibit video, or the audio wand we held to our ears. Some patrons turned the volume up so loud & just carried their audios out from their face - which meant we ALL heard theirs too! Plus, taking babies & small children is not ideal as their short attention span and loudness or restlessness added to the distracting noises. Our 12 & 14 yr olds enjoyed it, but even for them there is much to see & read.

We arrived at opening time on a weekday to try to avoid crowds, but there are just a lot of people. We spent nearly 3 hrs here. Every room has alot to see. Gift shop is at the end. Photography allowed on the 2nd floor only, not the 1st floor.

If you are a Titanic buff, this is a must-see. In fact, if my wife and I had been by ourselves instead of with our three energetic teenage grandkids, I would have rated it a five. Currently, you must have a reservation time to go into the museum. Everyone gets an audio receiver to listen to the info about exhibits. They recently changed their policy to allow flashless pictures to be taken with your camera once you leave the first floor. They have a nice 3-D model and a lot of White Star Lines stuff. The recreated Grand Staircase is nicely done. They have gone out of their way to make the museum somewhat child-friendly (with their own child audio on the audio devices and emphasis on dogs on board, the ship's wheel to turn, and slanted deck to show the pitch of the deck before sinking.) But teens believe vacations are best not spent in museums, so they buzzed on through while I could have spent a couple of hours there...

The tour and museum was spectacular! My youngest (10) loved the audio tour and it was awesome they had a version for kids vs adult narrative. It was very informative and fun to learn about your passenger that was assigned to you on your pass.

Only complaint was the exhibits of WW2 Jewish holocaust, which happened many years after the titanic, so historically inaccurate and probably confusing to many not familiar with historical timelines. Would be better to separate the exhibits. As a granddaughter of Holocaust victims, I can appreciate that they want to honor their past and educate the public, but we paid for the Titanic museum, not the Holocaust museum.

We are pleased you took the time to bring your family to the Titanic Museum in Branson, MO. Just a clarification, each year we pay tribute to different passenger groups. This year we paid tribute to the 69 Jewish passengers aboard the ship. We found it interesting to have connections between the Holocaust and Titanic. One of the passengers aboard the ship had a nephew aboard, who got off the ship before her maiden voyage but died in the Holocaust. Plus, First Class passengers Ida and Isidor Straus had a nephew that went to college with Anne Frank's father, and that nephew was best friends with Anne's father throughout the war and helped Anne's father get Anne's dairy published. There were also several Titanic passengers who fought in World War II or had children who fought in World War II. Overall, the Holocaust was a very important part of the lives of many Titanic passengers.” Thank you for your comment. Our Best, Titanic Crew

We purchased our tickets online and received instructions to arrive at our booked time and await a text to come aboard. The process was easy and the text arrived at our appointed time. They have created a great ambiance that immerses you into the experience as soon as you enter the museum. After a brief intro on how to use the audio device we were off. I would highly recommend listening to all of the audio stops to take in the information. Photos are allowed on the grand staircase and second floor, but not the first floor (aside from the entry.) My 12 year old son and I both loved this museum. He said it is his favorite one yet and has already asked to come again on our next trip to Branson.
