Informative Food walking tour with good food.
Despite the rain, we had a great time. Our tour guide was very friend and extremely knowledgeable. We have been on 40+ tours in Kentucky and we seem to learn something new with each new tour we take. They accommodated my boyfriend with his gluten allergy with each stop which was an added plus! I wish they would have offered umbrella's as the description did say they would have extra in case of weather. The other wish was that the meet place was explained better. It just had an address, no name and no name as to who you were meeting. We especially enjoyed the underground speakeasy, very cool!

    Fun time on Prohibition Tour.
Thoroughly enjoyed my evening with Greta. She was very professional, informative and fun. If we are ever back in Louisville I already have her information and will book another tour. Hopefully, they will be able to add on tours of churches.

Tour Canceled but Got Amazing Recommendations
Giving these guys a 5 Star review even though our tour was canceled. Not enough people booked, which happens and we were warned about ahead of time that the minimum is 4. They did offer us other tours to jump on but unfortunately the timing didn’t work out. They were nice enough to share some of their favorite spots with us and we went to them on our own and had a great time. So, bummed we didn’t get to officially experience the tour, but appreciative that they were still willing to help us have the experience!

If you like your bourbon…. !!
The tour was a great introduction to the food and bourbon scene in Louisville! As a first time visitor, our tour guide Cathy definitely taught me a lot about the city’s history and I would recommend others take part in this experience!

I took friends from Europe who were visiting Kentucky and wanted to experience local history and cuisine. This was the perfect choice!!

Loved this exploration of the interesting and fun neighborhood of NuLu; I was staying right on the border in Butchertown and the meet-up was simple. Learning the history of the city accompanied by some great eats was a wonderful way to start my first full day in Louisville. The food was amazing and served me as both lunch and dinner; I'm still dreaming of the pulled pork "cake" with sorghum. While I didn't drink any alcohol, there was water available and a local soda as well, but for those who wish to sample the more adult beverages there was a nicely balanced sampling. (Unlike another food tour I took in a music mecca *coughnashvillecough* there was nobody getting drunk.)

The pacing was very good and I truly enjoyed the history from the guide, Jeremy. The perfect autumn weather made everything even better, but altogether I would have been happy to do this tour in any weather. Great way to see some of Louisville and taste more than you might otherwise!

Cathy gave many historical tidbits of Louisville history, its cherished food and beverages, and the emerging neighborhoods, like NuLu. The tour does not shy away from unsavory parts of Louisville history. The food samples were great - pretzels, beer cheese, pulled pork, chicken tenders, etc. Non-alcoholic alternatives were offered if bourbon and vodka slushies are not your thing.

Kathy did a great job. We liked her nice disposition and the facts she shared along th way. However, we were
Disappointed that for what we paid for a food tour, we got pretzel bites and cheese (which were delicious), but then mini biscuits with gravies, very salty fried pulled pork with tater tots, can’t and and then ice cream right after too many sweets- one or the other would have been just fine. Felt like a lot to pay for what we got. But Kathy was indeed quite nice.

My wife and I greatly enjoyed this walking tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Louisville and the NULU area. She took us to delightful eateries where we sampled foods that originated from this area. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who would like to get a taste of Louisville.

Cathy was wonderful. She was nice and I was so impressed on the delivery of her presentation at each stop. She did an awesome job at keeping us engaged. Overall I would for sure do it again and request Cathy.
As for the stops themselves.
First stop was Goodbrew and that coffee beer was so good! The lighter beer was good too and the pretzels and cheese was a great start. Don’t eat too much! Because you will get full fast.

Second stop was Biscuit Belly. You have a bit of a walk before you get to this stop so prepare for that. Stop along the way about some pretty cool things and people that helped shaped Louisville and/or Kentucky.

The biscuits were kinda hard. Even the guide said they weren’t at their best and the gravies were good too, aside from the mushroom one. My husband was a fan, I was not. The Hot Brown was my favorite for sure.

Third stop was Feast bbq. After this stop the restaurant stops get a lot closer.
Feast was probably my favorite stop. I loved both things we tried here. We got a taste of a bourbon slushy and the most amazing thing I have ever tried in a pork croquet. Nothing bad to say about it and if you are a bbq pork fan it is a must try.

Fourth stop was Please & Thank you. I have been here before and they are amazing. We got a derby pie bar sample and it was pretty yummy.

Fifth stop was Royals. Good chicken, nothing spectacular and I was so full at this point I didn’t eat much.

Last stop was Muths candies and the cute story of how one of the candies was created.

All in all an awesome experience and would for sure recommend and will do another tour.

This was a nice tour of NuLu and some great little places to eat in downtown! Our tour guide, Cathy, was awesome. She even went out of her way to add a little something extra for my twelve year old son who was being a bit more picky than usual. The food was great, the stories were interesting, and we (mostly) dodged the rain, so it was a great afternoon on Lewahvul, or however you say it!

Cathy was a fantastic guide. We learned a lot about the city and had some yummy food that spoke to the authenticity of the city. They were able to accommodate our gluten free daughter, which was extremely helpful! Highly recommend!

I’m conflicted with my review because I want to rate this higher because this tour was fun, the guide was informative & attentive and the food was good. Great stops and variety overall. I also loved the alcohol and non-alcohol option. My issue was how the food was served. Have we learned nothing from COVID?!? At more than one location food was served communally with shared dipping containers!!! Yuck! For example, guests had to stick their fingers in a shared pretzel basket with people you just met and then use the same dipping containers—not all strangers have clean hands nor are they guaranteed to not be double dippers. This happened at more than one stop! Why would you do this?!?Not only is it gross and unsanitary, people don’t necessarily get the same portion. Then, even when food was plated, it was done by reservation pair. My reservation was for me and a colleague not a spouse, but our pork cake came out two to a plate—I’m sorry but I don’t want to eat like that with a colleague. Even if I was with a friend, I wouldn’t like that. This would have been a five star review had stops served food per person.
