This was a fantastic tour with some really interesting stories. Our guide was nice, she was very knowledgeable and answered everyone's questions without hesitation. We went about 7:30pm so it had just gotten dark and we were with a pretty big group. They split us in two groups to make it more personal. Everything about the tour was perfect. Loved every minute!

David is a great guide! He has a passion for storytelling and does it so well. We forgot to ask him what he teaches at the University - we wondered if it's creative writing! He's written a number of books. He was very engaging on the tour and in talks with the different groups of people on the tour. If you have a little time in Louisville, I recommend taking this walking tour to learn a little about the city and the unique stories that have come to light in this old neighborhood.

A great experience! Well worth the money. The area of old Lou has so much history which was nicely woven into the ghost stories. Lovely old homes dating back to the 1870s. Beautiful gas laterns and lawns. You can tell the area is coming back to life and folks are working to restore the historic homes. My only complaint would be if the tour guide could provide mini flashlights that could be used during the tour. It was hard to see even with the light on my phone and the uneven brick made the walk tricky.

The topic, sights and stories would likely have been very interesting if presented by another guide. Jamie needs coaching on her presentation skills. The stories were drawn out, redundant and timelines were occasionally askew. She took >20 min at one house. The phrase “as you can imagine” and the word “ironically” were used so frequently it became an annoying distraction. Positioning at 2 locations was poorly planned. We spent 15 min with our backs to 1 building as she faced it and talked about events in the building. At the other, the house was across the street and behind a tall tree. We could only view a small front corner. At 100 minutes (the scheduled tour length) we still had 2 stops to go as well as return to our start point. I have no idea how much longer it went, because we left.

The tour was well organized and ran smoothly. David, the guide, was welcoming and punctual. He has a wealth of knowledge and many entertaining stories.. The homes in the neighborhood are impressive. We were a group of four and all enjoyed the experience. There was one issue, but that was out of David's control...noise. A few times during the tour an airplane flew over and we couldn't hear him and toward the end of the tour we walked through a park and stopped at the corner. There was live music happening in the park which also drowned out David at times. Again, not his fault Our tour did run over by about 15-20 minutes which made us late for our dinner reservation and the restaurant almost didn't seat us! Lesson here...eat before the tour. Definitely recommend this tour...just eat first and stay close to the guide!

My wife and I love ghost stories and visiting haunted sites. This ghost tour exceeded our expectations! This was our first time in Louisville and we had no idea what to expect for the ghost tour because we knew nothing of the city prior to visiting. David our guide, gave us some unforgettable stories about the paranormal side of old Louisville. He was one of the best story tellers I’ve ever listened to. We really appreciate and love the city along with its haunted buildings. I would recommend this to anyone who wants the real experience of Louisville.

I absolutely loved the whole experience! Not only is Old Louisville fascinating, the rich history and drama comes back to life during this tour. I was immediately impressed with our tour guide Angelique! Not only is she a wonderful guide, but her enthusiasm was equally matched by her encyclopedic knowledge of the area. I highly recommend asking for her to guide your tour…
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Louisville, KY. The neighborhood is lovely, and the houses are stellar. This is a wonderful way to stroll around and learn something at the same time. Whether you’re into spooky things, architecture or history, this tour has something for you.
Loved it!!!

The ratings and reviews for this tour are well deserved. We have taken guided walking tours all over the US and world- David’s storytelling ability and subject knowledge are among the best we have experienced. The walk alone is worth the tour price, but when David’s narrative and fun guidance are added in it becomes an absolute must for any visitor to Louisville or for that matter any locals wanting to get in touch with their city’s history. Thanks David - we will be back!

We really enjoyed this walking tour! Jamie was our guide and she was extremely detailed, entertaining and full of historical knowledge. You can tell she loves the area and wants everyone to know and love it, too! We went on the 7:30 tour and she was very good to warn us of any uneven steps in the dark and showed us where to point our phone lights when concerned about safety of the sidewalks. Super fun and a little spooky to do at night, but I wish I could have taken the day tour, too, to see more of the beautiful houses in the neighborhood. Worked great for our teens, too, who were hanging on her words. Great tour!
