Beware - Will take $ Even Tough Event Should have Been Cancelled Due to Rain
BEWARE - Half hour before the tour it was pouring rain and all day it was raining. Your requires 100 minutes of walking outdoors. Listing indicates event dependent on weather. After contacting both trip advisor and the organization that was conducting the tour was told my money was not going to be refunded. I asked them to send proof that the entire event was rain free like I did of the downpour just prior and was sent nothing but a no - we won’t refund your money. If it’s raining that day - don’t risk it because they’ll steal your money and say the event happened even though the rain won’t allow it to happen. No way am I’m going to walk outdoors in the rain for 100 minutes. Also live out of state and will not be back anytime soon to enable event rescheduling. Only risk booking this event if the weather is forecasted to be stellar.

Great tour! ANGELIQUE was one of the best tour guide we have ever had! Do the day tour if you want to just look at the house, after sunset they are kinda hard to see or get pictures.

      It’s almost with the money.
Be ready to walk. The guide was well rehearsed and gave a great presentation. His name Doug Friday and he was very informative. Do some research 1st and come prepared with questions. I do not recommend doing this in a wheelchair. Yes, the sidewalk is old and is definitely not up kept by the city. This is no fault of the tour.

I had such a wonderful time on this walking tour through Old Louisville. We started our tour at the visitor center at Central Park and our tour guide was exceptional. I can't remember her name but she had a great knowledge of the history as well as a funny personality to go with it. My friend and I really enjoyed learning about the history of the architecture and residents of the beautiful homes. 10/10 recommend doing a walking tour of Historic Louisville if you're in town.

This is a walking tour of old Louisville which is about 2 miles south of downtown. Our guide Gabe was very knowledgeable and interesting; gave us lots of history of the city, especially the wealthy people who built these homes. The gardens were especially lovely. Would recommend.

While this is a large collection of homes from the late 1800 / early 1900 era, at least a quarter of them were in very poor condition. Our guide did a great job of relating the history of many homes, so in that sense it was enjoyable. But from an architectural perspective I wasn't overwhelmed.

The New York Times recommended this in 2016, in their "36 Hours in Louisville" travel piece. In fact, it was the very first thing they recommended. We're glad you found the history of the homes interesting. If you were underwhelmed by the architecture, you're in an itsy-bitsy-teenie-weenie hard-to-please minority. There aren't many places in the U.S. where you find such a wide stylistic breadth of late 1800s and 1900s residences on display in such a compact area. Unlike our competitor/imitator daytime tour company, we do not focus on just the picturesque residential enclave of St. James Court and the environs. We start from the transitional edge of the neighborhood and take more time, working our way through several different parts of the historic district to give a broad overview of what the area is, has been, and will be. This is clearly stated in our tour description.

The tour was an informative and entertaining introduction to noteworthy houses in the historic residential section of Louisville. Our guide Val was knowledgeable and funny. You see many impressive houses and learn much interesting history. The walking pace is relaxed. I recommend this for someone who likes architecture or history, and has 90 minutes to spare.

The tour guide has taught at the unversity and authored numerous books about Louisville's past. While strolling through these neighborhoods I learned a lot about the history, commerce, politics, and cultural development of the area. I had stereotypical ideas about Kentucky in general and was surprised at how interesting and diverse a place Louisville is.

This was an incredible tour. David has a wealth of knowledge on history, houses, people, "hear says", etc. I can't recommend it high enough. Ask him any question and he has researched it some time or another. I am really looking forward to taking his ghost tour as well. He can be serious and/or funny. I loved it!

We did the 1pm architecture tour. Our guide was passionate and engaging. I don’t know much about architecture, and I’m not sure she knew much more than I, but she knew the history of the neighborhoods and buildings we saw and told very interesting stories. The homes are beautiful, and it was a beautiful day for a walk.

This was magical, and I'm a local and even learned new things. The research and historical details are weaved in with wonderful stories about the families that lived here, and it's basically like walking through a multi-faceted novel. I mean the creator IS a novelist, so maybe that's why.

I booked the tickets thinking the price was a bit steep but I went ahead anyways. But by the tours end, I realized I would have paid double! David was the best tour guide I’ve ever had! He is so passionate about the area. I immediately went home and researched him, his books and his career. He is an amazing person with an amazing knowledge on Old Louisville. It felt like being given a tour by a celebrity! He knows everyone in the area and has been published numerous times.

As far as the tour goes, it was beautiful. I live in Louisville and I had no idea this area was here. David took us to some secret areas that were amazing. I took my parents and they were blown away! The history, the story, the culture... amazing.

I would take this tour a million times just to see the area, ask more questions and learn more about the fascinating David. If you come to Louisville, this tour needs to be on the absolute top of your list!

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip! David was an excellent guide to a part of the city where we otherwise wouldn't have had a reason to venture. The houses and gardens are gorgeous. David also takes you through neighborhoods that, while public, are off the beaten path with some cool surprises. The tour is eye candy for architecture buffs.
