Chicago seen from the 103rd floor
I'm afraid of heights and thought that I can't do this: stand on 103rd class floor and look down. We had 90 secs time to stand on that floor and I sneaked there and looked down. Wow... I did it👍👍👍. Very proud of myself.. What a view.... I recommend this experience👍

Thrilling Views with a Glass Edge
Skydeck Chicago at Willis Tower offers breathtaking views of the city skyline. The iconic glass ledge is a thrilling experience. However, long wait times can be a downside. Overall, it's a must-visit for the stunning panoramas.

    Great view
The view is really great up there, and it is nice to learn about the (sometimes quite literal) rise of chicago whil on your way to the skydeck. So it is more than just a view. It is rather expensive though

    What a View!
This attraction is amazing to get a 360 view of the city. The ledge is an exciting experience that lets you stand over the city and get a picture of you above the clouds. Definitely get the city pass because it gets you into the expedited entry and lets you skip the line.

    Amazing - a must visit!
We visited at 9am on a Wednesday, it was quite quiet and we got up to the 103rd floor very quickly! We had expedited entry which I would recommend. The staff were all lovely! So friendly and helpful. There was no wait for the ledge and the staff allowed us to spend as much time there as we wanted! We were not rushed at all. The views are amazing and the whole experience is worth every penny! Would highly recommend if in Chicago!

    A pretty cool tour
The entry to this has quite a few cool things to walk through. The tower is quite fast to get up, you get a good look around and then head down

    A Chicago must do
Really well done. Lots of signage and lots of available clean restrooms. Plenty to see and read on your way to the elevators. Well organized. They will even take pictures with your phone! Felt like we had plenty of time on the actual ledge! A MUST DO when in Chicago.

    Cool experience
Worth going up and seeing the views. It’s organized but takes quite a while. Look into getting express passes if you can. You only get a short amount of time to take pictures at the top so know which poses you want ahead of time.

Worth the ticket upgrade to skip line
We had gotten the express tickets so had very short waits for elevator up and for the glass boxes. Great views and the signage puts things into perspective.

After having purchased regular tickets online we arrived at the tower and were told that the line would take 2 hours do we paid an additional $50 each for the fast pass. The lift was out of order so there was a fiasco of being directed to 3 different lifts. When we got to the top the views were brilliant as was the ledge. However, the queue to go down was huge and the fast pass didn’t give you priority to leave.

Thank you for visiting us at Skydeck Chicago! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the brilliant panoramic views from our 103rd floor. For future reference, to experience a shorter wait time, we suggest visiting first thing in the morning when we open to the public at 10 AM October through February or at 9 AM March through September, and pre-purchasing your tickets on our website. Thank you for visiting the Skydeck. Our express elevators are out due to annual service so we are using alternative elevators to get guests to the observation deck.

Make sure you go at the right time!!! Waited 3 hours to get into a crammed elevator when they said the wait time would only be an hour, the views are good at the top, but “The ledge” with the best place to be photographed you can only stay for 60 seconds and the staff will not take your picture with your phone only there iPad so they can sell it to you in the gift shop when you leave. The reason I’m giving this one star and what put me over the edge is the hour wait TO LEAVE!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Spent a total of 3 hours for actually only 15 minutes of viewing, would not recommend this unless you want to spend a lot on a fast pass or really are strategic about the time of day your going. Good luck!

PS below is the line.....TO LEAVE

Thank you for visiting Skydeck Chicago and for writing a review. Guests can spend 60-90 seconds on the Ledge depending on the group size. You are welcome to get back in line after you step out on the Ledge. For future reference, we suggest visiting first thing in the morning when we open to minimize your wait time—at 10 AM October through February or at 9 AM March through September. We also recommend pre-purchasing tickets so that you may bypass the ticket line. Thank you for visiting!

Warning! We waited in line for an hour and were only allowed 60 seconds to take pictures on the Skydeck. With Covid going on, the only group pics you can take are their professional ones which cost $30 each. Not worth the money in my opinion!

Last time we were in Chicago 5y ago we opted for the Hancock tower for only one reason - Willis (Sears) Tower is a Chicago symbol and I wanted it on my pics.
This year we went for the Willis and it was awesome.
We bought our tickets online for around an hour before sunset time slot so we could enjoy both, daytime and night views. Views are definitely better than from Hancock, and the night views are simply stunning.
The Ledge is absolutely amazing and unique. There's a wait time for it and you're allowed to stay in 1-2 min depending on your party size. That's quite understandable as without time limits people would wait forever until all before them finish their photo sessions. Employees by the Ledge are very kind and willing to take photos of you with your own camera after the official compulsory photo (not obliged to buy it). If you wish to repeat, you can join the line again as many times you want for the Ledge.

We pre-purchased tickets, not cheap, $74 for two adults for a timed entry. So what do you get. A nice walk through displays regarding chicago, it's history and architecture. Very informative, but not really what you are here for. The ride up to the 103rd floor is not the fastest and the lifts are quite packed with visitors and this is my first gripe, there are simply too many visitors allowed in at one time. Having just read another review, I wholeheartedly agree about buying expedited entry, because we queued some 30 minutes to get one minute on the ledge (you get a whole 2 minutes if there are more than 2). It's really not enough time, especially when I observed some getting a lot, lot longer, probably expedited entry peeps. Great views of the windy city, so do enjoy. It is worth a visit, so is recommended, but do better investigation than I did and pick a quieter time to visit.

This is exactly what you think it is. A clear box hanging off the Willis Tower. It is a $20 photo shoot. Still, you won't get much higher than this. If heights doesn't impress you, this isn't your attraction. If you enjoy being one hundred plus stories in the air, you won't be scared and it will be pretty exhilarating. r
It is three different elevators you will need to take. There are plenty of staff members around who will guide to where you have to go next. Once you make it to the top, there are four booths (one was closed when I was there). You socially distance yourself in a line and they call you to the next available ledge. Each party is supposed to only get about 90 seconds but if the line isn't long, it feels more like about three minutes. I got in there early and there wasn't much of a line. Make sure your cameras are ready as you don't want to waste any of your seconds turning your stuff on and off. Because of Covid, they are not allowed to take pictures of you so either bring a friend (they will have to pay admission as well) or get yourself a nice selfie-stick. Once they tell you that your time is up and you have to go, they sanitize the ledge so I felt like they were taking care of the cleanliness aspect. I don't know if you can go back into line after they tell you to leave. They don't take any tickets while you are in line for the ledge so it's not you have nothing to give them. You could always give it a shot and see if they remember you but the exit just puts you back on the same floor so it would seemingly be pretty easy to get back in line if you're able. The gift shop is right before you leave. A lot of Chicago souvenirs and stuff you could probably find cheaper on the streets but also there is stuff that is unique to Willis (Sears) Tower.
The staff is nice enough. I talked to a few of them on the way up. It isn't a terribly complicated staff position. It's not like you are giving a tour through the Art Museum. Still, they were nice and would talk about their position. They won't get you any bonus stuff but it's better to be nice and try I suppose.

103 floors up offers fantastic view of the city and Lake Michigan and is a once in a lifetime opportunity which shouldn't be be missed. Would recommend booking your tickets in advance. They are available on the day but, at odd times like 8pm in the evening. Before joining the lift an official photo is taken of your party against the background of the Chicago skyline. Keep the ticket handy as you'll need it later.

The lifts are smooth and takes up 103 floors quite quickly. When at the top you can wonder round taking as many pictures as you like. Definitely try the Perspex Sky Pods hanging off the side of the Tower. You can look straight down 103 floor! There are four but there are queues (the wait isn't too long). Hand the ticket to the Guide so it can be scanned for your official photograph. After that you are then allowed about 60-90 seconds depending on the number of people in your group to take your own photos.

When you get to the ground floor, hand your ticket to the Guide who will retrieve your official photos. You can buy the full set for $45 (expensive) but given that you may never return is worth the on-off purchase.

If you like city views from way up high this is for you. All ages were present but I would not suggest this for those with vestibular conditions or handicaps. If you have mobility issues they do have ramps but the elevators are packed like sardines. Also even with reservations (supposedly required but more for you because they sold lots of tickets to no reservations) the place was packed. Our original time (10:30am) was rescheduled due to no visability thanks to clouds The staff advised us before we checked in and was good about rescheduling.
The bottom part of the “tour” was cool with tons of places to take photos of. They have bypassed for some scenes for motion sensitive folks but the last bypass before the elevators ended stupidly with the lines going through the final exhibit. Fortunately my husband and I were together so I could get in line and he could wait at the bypass.
Elevator line took 4 elevators . By this time my legs and back were giving out from walking and standing . No Benches or Chairs anywhere not even for employees. That sucked.
The sky ledge where you stand on glass was a mess. We abstained due to an additional wait of about thirty minutes to stand on the ledge for a photo for 60 secs. Nope.

Photos were physical and 10 bucks each (about 6 bucks more than most location photos) Youhave a souvenir shop in the skydeck itself. Which honestly makes it way more crowded and ruins the experience. The huge gift shop downstairs is enough.

I’ll stop because the more I write the less happy with the experience I am. It’s sort of a money grab. It’s also fairly pricey for what you get . I would not do it again.

This is an amazing experience. I would advise coming in the morning about 20 minutes before they open and get in line to beat the crowds. They let you take your own pictures, unlike the Grand Canyon Skywalk where you have to buy the company’s pictures. This awesome experience is worth the wait.

I was hesitant to do this attraction because of the expensive price tag (over $100 for a family of four), but my family loved it. We bought tickets online in advance. The museum in the basement of the building was an added bonus - my kids loved taking photos with the giant deep dish pizza and life-size photo of Oprah. We had to wait in line to take an elevator to the top floor and wait in an even longer line to go out on the ledge, but we were not in a hurry. Overall, we spent about 70 minutes at the attraction.
