Overview

Peek inside Chicago’s storied architectural history on a 2-hour walking tour through some of the Loop’s iconic interiors. See the Tiffany & Co-designed mosaic ceiling of the Marshall Field and Company Building, the stained-glass dome of the Chicago Cultural Center, the underground Chicago Pedway system and more. Led by an expert guide, the tour moves at a leisurely pace and covers a half mile with frequent stops.

What to Expect

As your tour begins, admire the 'Four Seasons' mosaic by Marc Chagall at the Tower Plaza, then step inside the Marshall Field and Company Building to appreciate the Tiffany & Co–designed ceiling inside the atrium. Visit the colossal 50-foot-tall (15-meter) outdoor Picasso sculpture in Daley Plaz, then explore the subterranean world of the Chicago Pedway system, an extensive network of climate-controlled, underground concourses that connect buildings throughout downtown.

As you stroll along the central business district—also known as “The Loop”—learn about some of Chicago’s most famous buildings via shared iPads showcasing archival images of Chicago with maps, historic photos, and documentary video clips. Your tour concludes at the Chicago Cultural Center, a Chicago Landmark building, completed in 1897 and originally the city’s first central public library.

Say goodbye to your guide and head on to your next Windy City destination.

Sharing excitement.

The tour guide was amazingly detailed in sharing her own excitement as if it were her first tour. Comparing the various tone colors, shapes, and colorful history of Chicago's architecture were highlights as well as the surprising temple in the midst of skyscrapers.

Off the Beaten Path

We were only in Chicago for two nights, one for the Kansas/Kentucky and Michigan State/Duke basketball games at the United Center the first night, and to see Hamilton the next night, so we had time during the day to explore the city. As we have...More

It’s a lot of walking. It was easily a mile and a half and we had to take a couple detours for the protests that were happening!
