Hells Canyon Jet Boat Tour
From US$180.00
Explore the Wild River section of the Snake River in an exciting way with a jet boat ride through Hells Canyon, located on the border of Oregon and Idaho. Home to large rapids, this is where the canyon is at its deepest, providing scenery from rock walls to grasslands to alpine forest. As you speed along the river, listen to commentary from the captain about this region's Native American and ranching history. The tour departs from the south entrance of Hells Canyon.
What to Expect
This is a 54 mile round trip adventure and boarding the boat begins at 10 am. You will return between 3 and 4. Your captain will serve you lunch on the river at noon, lunch is served family style and accommodates most dietary preferences. Historical sight seeing stops are included! The location we stop and how long we stay there varies from day to day. Animal sighting are also an added bonus. This is not a rushed adventure. We want you to enjoy all that is offered throughout the tour so we don't put strict times on each activity included, that is why the tour is based on mileage covered and not times.

You will drive along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway to get to the south entrance of Hells Canyon. There are three ways you can access the south entrance, (1) Cambridge, Idaho (2) Baker City, Oregon (3) Joseph, Oregon. This is a remote location. Have a full tank of gas, snacks and drinks in your car. Be prepared to enjoy your drive. The drive into Hells Canyon is where your adventure begins. The jet boat tour is just an incredible addition to the adventure.

Lots and Lots and Lots of Canyon

We took the 5 hour Kirkwood jet boat tour. IMO, the Snake River rapids (class 3 & 4) are better for rafting. The jet boat pounds into/among the rapids. Rafting rides the rapids gracefully, up and down. Know what I mean? Although our guide, Dillon,...More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I have read your review, thought about it, and then read it again. It sounds to me like you did not enjoy the remoteness of Hells Canyon. You drove along the Hells Canyon Scenic Byway...More

The lodge is very comfortable/casual. It is also very close to the launch site so don't have to get up at 0 dark thirty to get to the tour, but rather get up at a decent hour, enjoy a wonderful breakfast and then be on... More

There is no age restrictions but everyone has to wear a life jacket. There might be a restriction on babies and toddlers but did not notice it on brochure. The cost for kids 11 and under is about half the price.
