- melaniesJ3892BA0 contributionsMillionaire homes, mega yachts & pirates…umm, yes!Totally recommend! We took the Brightline Train for a day trip from Orlando. After spending time at the beach, we crossed A1A to the marina and hopped on this cruise. With tickets in hand, it was easy boarding with plenty of good seats to choose from. It was so beautiful seeing the Little Venice from the river. Monica the narrator was very knowledgeable with a few good jokes to share. Oh, and we got water gunned by a pirate! After a 90 minute cruise, we even had time for a burger at Burgers & Shakes at Marina Village before catching Circuit, the City of Fort Lauderdale’s free answer to ride sharing back to the train station. It was a great day in Fort Lauderdale and the Jungle Queen cruise was a huge part of our fantastic day. Do this cruise if you can. It’s a great value and will leave a lasting impression.Written September 22, 2024

Being towards end of Feb it was dark by the time we got to the island and the whole cruise back so didnt "see" all the points of interest . We arrived 30min early should have arrived at least 60 minutes as the boat was almost full and we couldn't really see anything they were pointing out. Many seats were reserved for large groups too. If you want a seat on the rail and up on top (best view) I would arrive 90 min in advance and wait to get on. The cruise it self was interesting and informative about all the billionaire homes and yachts. The island was dimly lit so could. Not appreciate the decor. The buffet was ok. Food was delicious but the shrimp cajun and plain beans Cole slaw 2 rolls for 4 people and the potato wedges (cold) were on the table when you were told were to sit. No cocktail sauce no salt and pepper asked for never received. We had to ask if we should start eating or what was the procedure. Yes eat. Then they brought out ribs. Then a but later chicken thighs. After a bit they offered more ribs never offered more chicken or shrimp. But the food was good not really hot just warm. The variety show was ok. The comic magician was funny rest. The singer was good and enjoyed the polynesian fire performance
Would enjoy a day cruise more but that was us. There were some young children on the cruise which was ok but I dont think it was for younger than 14. My opinion

Karen, thanks for taking the time to write this in depth review. First off, i want to apologize for the less than stellar dinner service you received. We take great pride in getting the food to our customers in a hot and timely manner. The fact that you could not get the things that you requested and some hot fries is unacceptable. feel free to contact me in our corporate office to discuss your evening in more detail. Let's get you on that day trip.

Narrated boat ride down the scenic inter coastal with views of multi million dollar homes and yachts. So gorgeous. Then we were brought to a beautiful tropical island that blew the tv show Survivor's tribal council area out of the water. There were exotic birds, reptiles and animals. The dining area was spacious and the food was delicious. They served unlimited bbq ribs, chicken, French fries, coleslaw and buttered roles. There was also a cash bar on the boat and the island. After dinner we were treated to a show with a Tina Turner impersonator, a ventriloquist and a comedian. Far exceeded all our expectations. Excellent for all ages.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening and highly recommend this activity. The female host on the cruise was very engaging and informative. To her credit, she has done a lot of homework to be able to pass along information on the houses, the waterway and the city of Lauderdale and presented it with enthusiasm and made for a fun experience. The island is very pretty and the grounds are nicely cared for. The show was really fun and also very engaging with participation from audience members. A good family event overall.
My only negative would be that the parking situation is a bit challenging with the crush of people arriving and departing at the same time from the Jungle Queen on top of the guests at the hotel and the marina. Be sure to buy your parking ticket at the bar on the second floor of the boat otherwise, if you parked at the hotel and neglected to obtain a parking pass onboard, you will have to pay $18 for parking.
Additionally, my other two comments would be that it was distressing for me to see the parrots on the island kept in cages that don't permit them to ever be able to fly. These beautiful creatures should be given to a facility that would allow them to thrive in a healthy environment and permit them freedom to move. Given that the guests have little time to stroll around the island between dinner and the show, the absence of the animals would scarcely be noticed. My final comment is about the meal. It would be nice to have the option to do the cruise and show without the meal. We didn't care much for the meal which consisted of tiny bread rolls, a small bowl of beans and coleslaw and then the bar-b-que chicken and ribs. YES - you can have "all you can eat" but we felt that there should be at least one or two more sides offered to make the meal a bit more interesting.

We had an opportunity to go on the Jungle Queen All You Can Eat BBQ Dinner and Show at Tropical Isle with Sightseeing Cruise while visiting Fort Lauderdale with some friends. You knew you were in store for an awesome evening from the onset the welcoming staff were very friendly and helpful. The cruise host was very funny and built the up what was to be a very enjoyable evening. The organization of Jungle Queen staff to manage 100+ people into the dinning room where your meal awaited you was incredible. The food was plentiful and absolutely amazing. Entertainment during was very enjoyable and allowed for conversation at the table. As for the after dinner entertainment it was absolutely amazing, we are heading out on a 11-day cruise and can only hope the entertainment is half as good.
Thank you to all the staff for making the evening supper special.

We took the all you can eat dinner cruise and it was really fun! Charles narrated the trip and told us about all the owners of the large homes and boats along the New River. The food was delicious and more than enough and the show after dinner was fantastic! Lots of laughs were had by all. The benches at the show were a bit uncomfortable by the end of the show and it would have been nice to have had more time to see the island. Overall, it was a great trip!

We were offered discount ticket so decided to take advantage of the Jungle Queen BBQ & Dinner show. The hour long ride to the island was information. Of course it's after sunset so you can only see the light of the houses. Seriously, no one had curtains on their windows. Food was good, the guys loved the ribs, I'm a chicken person. Service was fast and speedy, the ladies who served us were very accommodating. Entertainment was a singer with good rock and rolls songs that got excitment rolling, a magician & a short polynesian show. If you've not seen one it's a good starter for a longer one.

Definitely hit all points on the value for money front. Steven the tour guide was very informative and funny on the boat rides to and from dinner. The boat ride itself was beautiful and took you down the canals, the bar on board was great and had good drinks for decent prices, including specialty mixed drinks. The dinner was held in a huge dining room so no one was cramped, service was prompt and accommodating and the food was good and more than enough to eat. The after dinner show was entertaining - fire dancers at the end were definitely the highlight. Overall it was a good experience for kids and adults. Would recommend.

The boat ride was great, and the host was very eloquent when telling us stories about the homes. Once we arrived at the island, it became an average experience. The food was OK, but I was expecting it to be a real all you can eat; I had to chase the person assigned to my table to get extra ribs, and when she finally brought them to me, they were burnt had tasted terrible. It takes them a while to do the round, so by the time the show starts, you have barely finished the first plate they served you. The show was OK as well, funny but felt rushed.

As a full time wheelchair user I can say it exceeded my expectations of accessibility! Crew was outstanding as were dinner servers and ALL!!! One suggestion would be to have ear buds or head phone for ppl to be able to hear the tour guide....the info seemed so very interesting but the “party” nature of many guests made it very difficult to hear him. It was absolutely terrific overall and will not be forgotten!!

One for the Bucket list! I am a native of Florida, my first time, this excursion is not only for tourist but for anyone seeking a dinner, show and evening cruise. This evening or day excursion is at a most affordable price for all that you received.
We had such a lovely time, and the staff is super courtesies. The food was good, especially the slaw and beans. You can eat as much meat (ribs and chicken) and the side items as well. The entrainment was cruise ship quality, which means GOOD! They also include members of the audience which always makes for a good show. Afterwards, you can take a quick tour around the island and see the many animals they have, with plenty of lighting and seating. Go! I promised you will not be disappointed!

How much does the dinner cruise cost
Written March 12, 2022
You are not showing open at all Dec. 23-30? We are in town and would have loved to do this.
Written November 30, 2021
I don't recall a vegetarian option. But you could skip the meat and eat all the side dishes. There was plenty and you can get more! Corn, potatoes, beans, bread, etc.
Written November 13, 2021
Sorry, Lois. I just received an email about your question today. The dinner area is covered. The show area is not. So if it is raining, I am sure that you can stay in the dinner area unless they herd you all back to the boat. lol. We loved it.

Sorry, I didn't know there were any questions. No, but they are available. It is a large ship. We didn't feel that it was necessary to have a life vest on. Like being on a ferry or cruise ship.
