Overview

In the warm and dark lagoon waters lies a natural phenomenon of glowing blue waters alive with activity. The swirling of your hand, every paddle stroke, and the rolling wake off of your kayak all sparkle throughout the darkness. Not only do fish leave trails, dolphins look like torpedoes, and manatees a slow and graceful submarine. Many guests compare the experience to Pandora of “Avatar.” Some even recall the bioluminescence scene in “Life of Pi”  as the gentle plankton leave a trickling glow when you hold it in your hands and let it trickle down your arm. Though some may jokingly blame this on NASA runoff, it is actually the biological response of microscopic algae called a dinoflagellate. The perfectly natural and harmless concentration of organisms produces light before your very eyes, often existing in millions per liter of water. Your tour will include a ton of information about these rare and exotic creatures with the most experienced guides in the area

What to Expect
What to Expect -
• No restroom facilities at the launch site (visitor center is the closest)
• Just under two hours on the water for a leisurely paddle
• Expect to get a little wet – depends on you (or possibly your friends)
• To see lots of wildlife and stretch those muscles a little
• To learn some basics about paddling and more about local wildlife
• To wear your life vest & whistle :)
• Great guides who enjoy their work and keep you safe
• Lots of outdoor fun and a desire to come back real soon

Great kayak experience!!!

We had an awesome time kayaking and seeing the dinoflagellates glow, catching comb jellies and watching mullet jump out of the water. Chad and Chandler were great tour guides!!! This is a must do if you are visiting or live on the Space Coast

Very Disappointing Bioluminescense - Way Too Many Kayaks

We heard great things about the Bioluminescense tours so my wife and I booked this and did the tour last night. The company called the day of and moved our location because the Bioluminescense was bad in our original location so we departed from Kelly...More

It was a magical night!

It was a perfect night for the bioluminescence kayak tour at Manatee Cove! The stars were out, the water was smooth, and the comb jellies came out to play! The darker it got, the better we could see the glowing plankton. Our guides were knowledgeable...More

Amazing experience!

Our guides Sara And Danielle were excellent at keeping us safe and knowledgeable of our surroundings. We played with friendly glowing jellyfish and, due to Danielle's persistence, found a great spot full of Dinoflagellates and jumping mullet! It was an adventure we will never forget...More

Clear kayak a must

Highly recommend this tour! The clear kayaks stepped it up a notch, must try/see! Saw so many flying fish. Tour guide did a great job at moving us to water that was better to see the bioluminescence.

I don't work there, but I would say yes. They need to be sure they have the right amount of kayaks and it didn't look like there would have been a way to pay if you just show up.
