Your guide shows you how to operate the e-bike so that you can pedal on your own or switch on the electric power for motor assistance. You’ll ride a Pedego beach cruiser, a classic Southern California bike that’s been modified with an electric motor. Your bike has six gears, high-end disc brakes, lithium ion battery, and a 500-watt motor. Follow your guide along bike paths, quiet streets, and the waterfront of Santa Monica and Venice Beach. Start by traversing Santa Monica's iconic beach, wheeling past the Santa Monica Pier and on to Venice. Pedal around the Venice Canals and soak up the scenery as your guide shares commentary about the architecture and history of the neighborhoods and beaches you see.

Amazing, informative and fun morning with Barb. So many great stories and photo ops. Loved it! Highly recommend for any fitness level, so long as you've got basic comfort on a regular bike. E-bike skills were easy to learn!

What a great fun day and SO informative...Barb was an amzing tour guide and she opened my eyes to parts of the Santa Monica and Venice Beach area that I didn't know exisited...I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour as a way to get to know this very scenic and interesting area...And the e-bikes are SO much fun to ride...Thanks Barb!!

Barbara was a warm and knowledgeable guide. The equipment was top notch. The content was varied and interesting. I’ve been spending time in the area on and off all year - I walked swaying knowing so much more and thinking about who I can recommend it too!! Water and a snack are a good touch, too.

Fun! Plain and simple FUN!
Barb was our tour guide and she took great care of us. The 4 of us had no experience with E Bikes in the past. Barb did a great job in teaching us how to use the bike and take advantage of the various options and speeds that the bike offered.
Our tour lasted several hours. Barb accompanied us the entire trip as she narrated the tour and stopped many times along the way to talk about points of interest. We visited Venice Beach, Muscle Beach and the Santa Monica pier using bike / people dedicated paths. We had a great time.
It was clear that the bikes that we used were brand new and very well maintained.
We had a terrific time. Give Barb a call and schedule a tour. You won't regret it.

Such a fun tour! We loved the electric bikes (first time riding) and Barb was so informative telling us about the area. Even my 14 yr old loved it! Highly recommend this unique and fun tour, it was a highlight of our trip!

We, like so many other reviewers, had a FANTASTIC time with Barb. We've traveled the world & enjoy active vacations, including eBiking and 10+ mile walking/hiking days.
We were a group of two adults & three teenagers who, after spending 3 days touring in & around LA, ended our California vacation on the beaches & canals of Santa Monica and Venice.
PROS:
- High quality eBikes for everyone in the group
- Barb is ultra-prepared, with snacks, water & windbreakers
- Barb is ultra-knowledgeable and flexible. We stopped for a bit longer @ places the teens wanted to explore
- Get in a great workout while taking in beautiful scenery
CONS:
- None. Seriously.

Barb from Pedal or Not was a GREAT tour guide. She is very knowledgeable of the history of the area and as you ride along the scenic beach, intriguing facts are noted along the way. I also like that the bikes are electric, so, you can pedal, if you like, or, if you prefer to cruise, you can rely on the bike's power. I highly recommend this activity!

Barb was such a great tour guide! Not only was she an expert in the area, but she was also incredibly kind. I toured a particularly windy day, and she lent me a couple jackets. Overall, the tour was a great way to see all the tourist spots and maximize my time outdoors under the California sunshine!

We were a group of 4 adults, two with e-bike experience and two newbies. Barb carefully fitted each person with the appropriate bike and had each rider demonstrate competence handling the controls. She clearly explained riding rules as well as etiquette. Off we went to the beach for a fun ride on Santa Monica and Venice Beaches. Periodically, Barb stopped the group to highlight notable landmarks providing just the right amount of commentary. As the weather cooled, Barb surprised us all with her supply of helpful items items (ie. protein bars, gloves and a wind resistant jacket)! With her “connections”, we met interesting people on the beach and heard of the society hostess and hostesses of the past. If you are visiting this area, do yourself a favor and take an e-bike journey on the beach with Barb!
