What to expect
Begin your day with pickup from your hotel. Make sure you are carrying your pre-purchased national park ticket (not included). Meet your guide, then settle into the air-conditioned minivan to head south.  Make your first stop at Ahu Huri A Urenga, a single statue with four hands aligned to the sunrise at winter solstice. Head farther south to the Ahu Vinapu, where skillful engineering suggests contact with the Incas, then to the coastal area of Hanga Poukura, home to rough lava rock formations and several statues mysteriously buried in a line, with only the backs visible. Take a break for lunch (not included), before heading for Rano Raraku. This crater functioned as a kind of factory where most of the island's statues were carved. Since the workers stopped, the hundreds of statues left behind haven't moved. The final stop is Ahu Tongariki, the island's biggest ahu with 15 mighty moais. Your day ends with drop-off back at your hotel. This tour does not pick up at cruise ship terminals.

Three Day Tour of Easter Island
Feb 2020
My wife and I had the good fortune of taking three different tours with Easter Island Travel in February of 2020. The first two tours covered the North and West highlights and the South and East Highlights. Franco was our guide and he was excellent. He was proud of his Rapa Nui ancestry and explained in great detail the history of the island and the special culture that led to the building and destruction of the Moai statutes. These were full day tours and each day we had the pleasure of a home cooked lunch served at the Hanga Roa residence of the tour company owner, Alicia Ika, and her husband, Marcus. Alicia, herself of Rapanui descent, is an accomplished dancer and singer/songwriter. She put on a lovely vocal performance at the end of one of our lunches. They treated my wife and I like family. Our third tour was another all day tour, this time covering hidden gems rarely seen by tourists. Maeva was our guide and she traces her lineage back to the first king of Rapa Nui. Again her knowledge of the island and its culture was truly amazing. Rapa Nui is such a special place and pictures don't do it justice. You have to go and see it for yourself and I highly recommend Easter Island Travel.

Definitely the way to go
This agency communicates really well. They accommodated me to link up with the group after flying in on the day of the tour. Frank was a great tour guide. As a local, he knew all about the customs and history surrounding the native Rapa Nui. This tour takes you to the key highlights that you see on every iconic photo of Easter Island. If you're short on time, then look no further!

An Unforgettable Trip
Jan 2020 • Family
Our tour guide Andreas has been doing research on Moai for over 20 years. Our trip had a very clear focus on structures/sizes/details of various moais which makes us to think what could be reasonable approaches, and how to move moai around Easter Island...In our small tour group, we have high school student, collect student, graduate school student, after the tour, we felt like we were following a professor doing reasearch on moai, on Rapa Rui history. It also leaves with us many questions to think such as why such an intelligent society suddenly left the island, or was it outside foce stopped Rapa Rui people continue building Moais, was there an huge Tsunami, drought, how reliable are the information from current published books??
We had lunch at tour company owner's home which allowed us to chat with owner in their backyard and learn current Rapa Rui people's life, and listened to owner's wife sang songs about Rapa Rui. It is a very unforgettable tour.

Deep Dive into Easter Island Archaeology
Dec 2019
Excellent tour led by Simon who really knew the material and was passionate from beginning to end. Lunch with the company owners at their home was a plus as well as the entertainment - Alicia Ika and her husband sang and danced some of the traditional dances for the guests some of whom participated. A very special day!

Fantastic guide and owners - South and East
Nov 2019
Maeva was a great guide, very personable and could speak good English. This was the second tour I took with this company (Easter island travel) and I was impressed. They again took us to the owners home for lunch. Alicia, the wife, told us a love story that have people almost in tears (of joy) and Marcos, the husband spent time with everyone, and spoke a multitude of languages. Everyone was sent away with hugs. It felt like the way families are supposed to be and they were perfect strangers, they were very genuine. And oh yes, the sights - the quarry, Rano Raraku, was absolutely fantastic, do not miss this one.

Amazing Tour with Great Guide
Sep 2019
For this one day tour, we met our English guide Kava. He is an experienced tour guide and he can speak English and Spanish very well. Kava told us a lot of knowledge about the history, story of the island and the background information of the Moai. He also give us more information for us during the visit, thus you can know what you are really seeing. It is definitely a good tour and you will learn a lot during the tour.

Great Educational Trip
Jul 2019 • Family
I am glad that my son insisted on getting a tour guide. Our Tour Guide, Maeva, filled in a lot of background knowledge which added extra context to seeing all of the various Moai in different sites.

So you should definitely book a tour with a local guide in order to maximise the value of visiting all of the sites.

Express Tour and Tongariki Sunrise
We had a great day on the Way Express tour with Marcus. The Sunrise tour with Petr was also very special - we were truly blown away by that. Marcus and Petr were both so knowledgeable and we learnt an awful lot about the Island’s history and culture as well as seeing some fantastic sights. We would highly recommend both tours. We can’t honestly think of anything that they could have done better.
