What to expect
  • Tigre Delta Tour: (Morning) You'll be collected from your Buenos Aires hotel by a coach that will whisk you from the center of the city out to San Isidro, with views of the beautiful Rio de la Plata along the way. Upon arrival in the prosperous town, your guide will give you a short tour including the San Isidro cathedral and the weekend homes of many of Buenos Aires' elite families. Board a catamaran at Tigre and cruise through the Tigre River Delta for 40 minutes to see how life works here. Pass homes on stilts and get a chance to buy something from the supermarket boat. Your last stop is at the home and museum of former president Sarmiento, before you return to your coach and to Buenos Aires proper. Buenos Aires Sightseeing Tour: (Afternoon) Start in Retiro, one of the city's most popular neighborhoods. Pass by many of Buenos Aires' famous landmarks, with historical and cultural commentary from your guide. Stop at Casa Rosada, the Argentine presidential office in Plaza de Mayo, which makes a great photo opportunity with its rosy pink color. Visit the the Plaza de la República and the Obelisco de Buenos Aires (Obelisk of Buenos Aires.) On the way to Teatro Colón, the city's famous opera house, see the Metropolitan Cathedral and the town hall, or Cabildo. Head to San Telmo, passing through Puerto Madero, one of Buenos Aires' oldest neighborhoods right on the water. Colonial architecture abounds in San Telmo, especially around Dorrego Square, which is a hot spot for amateur tango performances. La Boca, a historically Italian neighborhood, features brightly-painted buildings with Italian architectural influence on its main thoroughfare. Disembark and check out some local art for sale on the pedestrian streets. After hopping back on the coach, pass through the sprawling Palermo neighborhood and Palermo Woods, the city's largest green space. End your tour in Recoleta, location of the fascinating Recoleta Cemetery. The next two hours are yours to rest or explore the city before the evening's tango show. Tango Show with Dinner: (Evening) Enjoy Argentina's historic national pastime while you dine on delicious Argentinian and international cuisine. Accompanied by unlimited wine, this dinner and professional tango show can experienced at one of two tango clubs. Tango Option 1: Café de los Angelitos The tango show will teach diners the history and passion of the tango while enjoying exceptional food and wine. Café de los Angelitos has over a century of experience bringing tango to the public and their experience and polish is evident. Tango Option 2: Tango Porteño This tango show features music from some of the great orchestras of the time like Piassolla and Pugliesse, accompanied by enticing food and drink. Reminiscent of Argentine tango's golden era, this themed club recreates the elegance and passion of Buenos Aires in the 1940s.

Enjoyable tours, but segmental
Jan 2020
The tour, meal and shows are quite satisfying, but each of the three (morning, afternoon, evening) tours are all independent. I was surprised, almost dismayed, that the tour guide of each segment had no knowledge about the other. The tour description failed to mention that we're dropped off at the hotel after the afternoon tour, and wait for the evening guide.

Unacceptable lack of coordination and communication
Feb 2020
TripAdvisor left us hanging in Argentina with no way to confirm our trip arrangements. Only with the diligent help of our hotel concierge were we able to get through to the right Argentine company, and then only after hours of trying. The trip was really 3 separate excursions, one of which concluded with a drop off on the unfamiliar streets of Buenos Aires many blocks from our hotel. Fortunately, we — including one passenger with a walking disability — were eventually able to hail a cab (on our own).

A nightmare!!!
Nov 2019 • Solo
A nightmare!!!Very disorganised and impossible to contact via phone and e-mail regarding the pick up point. I was promised to be pick up at my hotel for the tango show, confirmed the pick up location via what’s app, however they didn’t show up! And denied that we confirmed the pick up location an hour ago! Very unprofessional!

The 2 tours were excellent and the tango show/dinner was over the top. This nwas a busy day, but well worth it even getting back to our ship after midnight.

Would not recommend Gray LInes
Jan 2019 • Couples
I have to say each of the three individual events were good (city tour, Tigre Delta River tour) to great (Tango Porteño). The communication, or rather lack of, from the tour operator Gray Lines was pathetic. We purchased the tickets via Viator and was then told future information would come via Gray Lines and to contact them directly. After many repeated requests for information regarding the pick up time I finally got a response only after involving Viator. Unfortunately we then learned they don't pick-up or drop-off in the Palermo area. Getting a time/place to meet for each of the items (they don't flow together and are handed off to others) was incredibly difficult. We were fortunate though that they did pick us up and drop us off at night at our hotel after the Tango Show. Gray Lines evidently is not responsible for each of the tours but rather arranges it with other operators. I think doing these tour options individually or directly would have been a far better option.

Outstanding Dinner and Tango Show, Nice river ride. Day trip stunk
Feb 2019 • Couples
The dinner and tango show were excellent. The Tigre Delta river cruise was delightful. However, the day tour stunk. The bus was late and rushed us through the tour, not stopping in several places. Then, the bus wanted to drop us off 15 blocks from the hotel. We negotiated five blocks from the hotel. It stunk.

Amazing
Absolutely amazing trip, got to see most of the highlights around Buenos Aires. Great way to knock off a few of the highlights in one day... Only issue it was a very long day, esp only arriving the night prior (15hrs flights) so was falling asleep during the show...

Tango show was great, day tours not so good
We were picked up at 9:10 from our hotel and spent the next hours picking other guests up. We drove for another 80 mins to a cathedral near the port of Fibre where we had a comfort stop.
Boat trip was enjoyable and worth doing, we went the quick way on the return journey and were dropped off in a hotel where we would be picked up 20mins later, hardly enough time for something to eat.
We were then picked up at 2:20 on our way to pick other different guests up, after 50mins we were bock within 50m of where we started and some of us were really tired of sitting in traffic especially after the mornings long trip. The commentary finally started an hour 10mins after we boarded, why they didn't pick some of the other guests up before us left us angry. We could have used that time to get a proper meal.
The firstst stop to see was strange because when we got back to the vehicle there were strangers sitting in our seats, I'm glad my wife didn't leave her handbag on the vehicle. The guide didn't tell us this would happen.
We got off the tour at the 2nd stop as we had seen most of the city on previous day's and the stop was adjacent to our hotel and the unecessary wasted time left us feeling tired and irritable.
This left us with doubts about the tango show.
The show made up for the trials of the day
We went to Cafe Los Angelitos, food unexpectedly good, the waiters kept our beer and wine glasses fully topped up and the show was brilliant - the day ended on a high

Brilliant Tango show
The daytime tours were just ok. We waited for an hour after the pick up time and wasted considerable phone credit calling the office to find out if we were going to be collected. The female guide was friendly but spoke so quickly and went from Spanish to English so fast it was really hard to concentrate. The city tour repeated a lot of the morning journey to the river boat. The boat was fully enclosed which was a bit disappointing. The river tour was a bit unnecessary as that stretch is not inhabited by any wildlife. Despite tge late pick up, the tour still ended at the appointed time so i suspect that all river tour guests are collected much later than the agreed time. However, that said, the tango show was fabulous. We were picked up promptly and taken to a beautiful old world style theatre. The food was fabulous, service great and the show was spectacular. This is what brought the rating up to four stars.
