Delve into cool ocean waters for an extreme adrenaline-inducing adventure you'll never forget: cage diving with great white sharks. Set out from Kleinbaai―about a 29mile (46km drive) from Hermanus―aboard the Apex Predator and cruise out to Dyer Island to set anchor. Then it's your turn to enter the cage and get up close to these magnificent creatures. Don't worry if the water's not your thing: you can also view the sharks from aboard the boat, scoring incredible photographs as they vie with one another for a better look at you.

What to Expect
The trip starts between 6 am and 12 pm in the morning from Kleinbaai harbour, which is a 2 km drive from the village of Gansbaai, but may vary due to the tides and expedited sea conditions. You will be personally notified, after 5 pm the day before your dive, about the time you must meet at our crew house in Kleinbaai. We will use the contact number you supply when making your booking.

After a continental breakfast (no greasy foods), a safety briefing is held and then you board the shark-chaser, Apex Predator for the 5-mile voyage to Dyer Island or an anchor spot where we have observed recent white shark activity.

When the boat leaves the harbour, the round trip usually takes 3 to 4 hours. After dropping anchor, the crew will begin attracting Great Whites Sharks with a specially- formulated ‘Chum’ mixture. With the exception of the recent ocra activity, we have seen white sharks on 99% of our trips.

(MANDATE AGAINST THE USE OF SHARK PRODUCTS - The local supplier do not feed the sharks nor use any part of a shark product in their ‘secret chum mixture’ and have signed a mandate to this effect.)

Once the Great White Sharks arrive, you will have the opportunity to photograph these majestic apex-predators feeding at the surface, right alongside the boat. This is when you get the opportunity to enter the cage!

Passengers are exposed to the open sea while travelling to Shark Alley where the boat will be anchored and chumming commence. The boat is protected with vinyl side curtains to give additional protection from the wind and water spray.

Yeah it hangs off the side but you can go down under, while in the cage, a few feet, holding on to the inner safety rails. Prob about 10-12 feet in height. Trust me you’d want to stay in the cage once you come face to face... More

No you don’t get scuba gear just full wet suits, boots and mask etc. You can go down under and come up for air all while safely in the cage.
