Overview

Rather than grapple with the metro and take your chances on the night, book in advance for this original tour. It combines one classic Shanghai experience—a Huangpu river cruise—with one very modern Chinese experience—a feast of Xinjiang (Uighur) food. You benefit from the services of a private guide throughout.

What to Expect

Meet your tour guide and private driver at your hotel lobby and transfer to the Pearl of the Orient Cruise Ship Terminal to embark on your river cruise. To your west lies Shanghai’s past, the Bund, the Peace Hotel, and more; to the east lies the city’s towering future, among skyscrapers like the Shanghai Tower.

After your cruise, your guide will accompany you to a Xinjiang (Uighur) halal restaurant. Taste foods like lamb kebabs, yoghurt, flatbreads, and “da pan ji”, a spicy chicken dish. Enjoy evening entertainment, perhaps a cultural dance or a belly dance show, before your guide drops you back to your hotel—or whatever central Shanghai destination you prefer.

Worth the float

Viewing the evening lights from land is not the same as floating on the river. With VIP seating, there were no crowds. I was free to take great camera shots. Ms Xin was focused on our needs and was great company.

Excellent evening tour

This was great, and Xin is amazing. She took all of the stress out of booking this trip, got us through rush hour traffic, VIP seating everywhere we went. It was all just perfect. We couldn’t be more satisfied.

This tour can be done in the rain. We traveled everywhere in a van, so rain would not be an issue, or in the restaurant. The river cruise would not be as pleasant. There was plenty of indoor and covered areas on the boat... More
