About
We don't just show you the sites on our walking tour; we tell you the stories. - Presidents J.F. Kennedy & W.H. Taft Memorials - Pay respects to the only two presidents buried here. - Tomb of the Unknown Soldier & Changing of the Guard - we'll learn what it takes to be a sentinel and witness the time-honored tradition of guarding the tomb. - Arlington House - visiting the Slave Quarters and Museum to learn why Robert E. Lee's house became a military cemetery. - Military Women's Memorial - learn how women have contributed to the American military. You'll also hear the actions of Medal of Honor recipients and understand why family members can be buried here. Learn about military funerals and understand the symbolism on the headstones. While we end the tour inside Arlington Cemetery, we provide a free self-guided audio tour for anyone who wants to complete the 15-minute walk to the Iwo Jima Marine Corps Memorial just outside the cemetery, with instructions on how to get back.

Spooky (but not too spooky) tour of Georgetown haunts
This tour was super fun and informative. I went with some girlfriends and it was a great pre- Halloween (or anytime) way to learn more about georgetown histrory.

    It's a yes from me
This was a fun night walk and we liked our guide. They were funny, well versed, and felt relaxed and natural. There was a mix of people like 30 to 70 in our group. I'd do jt again

    Great Creepy Walk Through Georgetown
The tour was well paced and had some great history of the area. Don’t go looking for horror filled jump scares - this is more on the creepy and macabre end of ghost tours. Georgia did a great job of telling the tales and keep us engaged.

    So glad we did this
We were pleasantly surprised at how entertaining our walking tour was. Our guide was funny, knowledgeable and engaging. The weather was perfect and the distance was reasonable. We learned so much and our 11 year old and college kids all loved it.

    Pretty good but lacking murders!
The tour was really good and our guide was actually really entertaining. I would have liked more spooky stories of murders. In the entire tour there was only 1 murder story.

    Great tour!
We did the Georgetown ghost tour with Georgia. It was a fun and informative tour! Not only did we get spooky ghost stories but quite a bit of interesting history thrown in too. Georgia is very knowledgeable and was also helpful with answering our general questions about DC. Highly recommend!

    Moonlight & Monuments with Katherine
My family (6 adults) took the Moonlights and Monuments with Katherine Thursday May 23, 2024. She was awesome! She had a great personality, loved questions and clearly has a passion for US history. Katherine shared interesting stories about the places and people that started the US. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and definitely recommend her and DC by Foot.

Guided walking tour of The Mall
Guided Tour of the National Mall. My 77 yo mother and went on a walking guided tour of the National Mall with John. We had 5 people in our group. John had a lot of really great history and facts about the memorials and monuments. It was so much more enriching than walking it ourselves. We really enjoyed our day. Great job John.

A friend and I debated taking the trolly tour of Arlington, which I have done before and was totally fine, but it was a gorgeous day so we opted for this walking tour. We were so glad we did! The trolly tour just gives you 2-3 bullet point facts at each stop, all pre-recorded. Our DC By Foot guide spent 10 minutes just telling us the fascinating history of how this former plantation home became the crown jewel of our American military cemetery system!! We learned SO MUCH at all the sites, but the incredible details we got before seeing the Changing of the Guard just made an incredible event that much more special for us. Cannot recommend this tour enough!!

Ingolborg (not sure of spelling) was an amazing tour guide with lots of information throughout the cemetery! And she let us linger in different places that were important to our group all while keeping us on time for the changing of the guard. We would highly recommend a tour with her!

Very education and emotional experience. The guide was thorough at explaining everything and showing us around, but also was respectful of funerals happening while we were there. The guide knew exactly where to take us and never got lost. I can only imagine where we would have ended up had we not had a guide. DC By Foot was the perfect choice for us! Highly Recommend.

I'm really glad that I toured Arlington National Cemetery with a guide as opposed to by myself. DC By Foot's guides are very qualified. I especially appreciated that we were able to find the best spot to watch the changing of the guard, because of our guide. This tour was so good I signed up for the Lincoln Assassination Tour, as well.

This tour was incredibly, incredibly informative (and fun!). The guide, Canden, knew so much and was a true pleasure! The cemetery is a real who's who of American history, but I loved learning about how Robert Todd Lincoln (son of Pres) and the son of Robert E. Lee worked together to create the cemetery. Its a cool way to reflect on the United States and the people who have made it special. Highly recommend!

John was incredible on this tour giving us the background and the context of Arlington Cemetery that we would never known on our own. One of the best tour for us and we have been to Washington DC many times but this one will remain our top favorite tour.
