Austin's Salt Lick and Winery Shuttle
US$54.13
Overview
Leave busy Austin for a 4.5-hour wine and barbecue tour in the Texas Hill Country. Your driver takes you to the outskirts of Austin to visit your choice of three venues: The Salt Lick, Fall Creek Vineyards, and Duchman Family Winery. Linger at one or two of the stops, or visit all three — it's up to you.
What to Expect
After making your own way to the Austin Visitors Center or the JW Marriott Austin hotel to meet your shuttle.

Travel about 30 minutes to Driftwood in Texas Hill Country. You'll have at least 45 minutes at each stop, giving you time to try some authentic Texas barbecue and go wine tasting without worrying about your transportation.

The Salt Lick opened in 1967, and became nationally famous after its barbecue was heralded on the Travel Channel in 2008. Salt Lick Cellars planted its vines in 2006 and served up its first bottles of wine in 2008.

Fall Creek Vineyards was founded on a cattle ranch in 1975 and has become a leader in making the Texas Hill Country known as a wine region. The Duchman Family Winery opened in 2004 and has become known for its award-winning wine made from various grape varietals grown in Texas.

Drinks and food are at your own expense. Expect the tastings to cost between $6 to $25; the Salt Lick is cash only, but they do have an on-site ATM. Your tour ends with return to Austin in the mid-afternoon.
