      Truly Unique and Insightful Tour
I lucked out with an impromptu private tour led by Jian, the owner and founder—what an incredible experience! Jian is not only super kind but also deeply knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights about Filipino history that made every moment engaging. I truly felt more connected to my history after having many conversations with Jian. The tour itself is well-paced, with manageable walking and plenty of time to soak in the beauty of Intramuros. I even discovered Jian runs ghost tours around Halloween—how cool is that? Hopefully, that is something he can offer year-round since we have plenty of spooky things in the Philippines. Make sure to explore Intramuros before or after the tour; it’s a treasure trove of stunning sights and delicious restaurants. This tour is a must for anyone visiting Manila!

The Best Street Food Tour Out There
As a Filipina who grew up in the US, this tour was a heartwarming reconnection to my roots. Every dish was phenomenal—easily the best versions of Filipino classics like pichi-pichi, cassava cake, banana turon, and puto. Chloe, our guide, was friendly, and knowledgeable, and made the experience so much fun. We even got to ride a tri-cycle or tuk-tuk and a jeepney! The lineup included a mix of comforting favorites and adventurous bites like pork BBQ, lumpiang toge, isaw (grilled intestines), and sisig dynamite. Don’t worry if you’re not up for trying everything—there’s no pressure, and leftovers are thoughtfully handled. This tour is worth every penny. It’s the perfect way to experience the best of Filipino cuisine and culture. Put it on your must-do list!

      Best of Manila
The street food tour was awesome. Our guide Chloe did a great job in providing us with a history of the food as well as giving us experience of what a local might eat in an area not seen by most tourists. Definitely come hungry to enjoy the great food.

Beautiful experience with Lola Oyet and her family, you will leave feeling like a new member of the family!
Loved it loved it loved it! Lola Oyet and her family are so very warm and welcoming and just full of amazing stories about their time in their beautiful neighborhood, sharing their experiences as a loving couple raising their children during times of change to the location. This was such a personal experience, and I can feel how genuine my new Filipino parents are about hosting new guest. They were so interested in knowing my wife's and my stories as well, it was just such a warm, comfortable, organic time. And the food, oh the food! The, Best, Meal I had during my entire stay in the Philippines (I did a one month tour through Asia for work and holiday, with my first week working in Angeles City, and my last week on holiday in Manila). The introduction to new foods, the best Adobo I've ever eaten, the most refreshing drink I've had in recent memory, everything was 11 out of 10. Her grandkids and daughter-in-law made an appearance and they were just as sweet and welcoming, not once did we feel like we were intruding on their day to day lives in the home. My next visit I will book again just to come say hello, food is not even necessary, I just love this family that much from this one booking and can't imagine being in Manila and not connecting with them again. You deserve to have this similar experience, please book now. Salamat po Lola Oyet ❤️

      A taste of local culture
A great tour focused around local food, led by a local person who practically grew up near the places she takes you to. It was just me, two other people, and the guide. The guide, Nel, speaks fluent English and has a very warm personality - combine that with tasting the local food and riding two local street transports (tricycle and jeepney) and you get a nice taste of local culture in just a couple of hours of time. After the tour the guide also sent us information about all foods we tried.

10/10 experience, super friendly and competent host, great preparation, stylish cutlery and a great cooking tent outdoor in a cozy alley surrounded by flowers and plants. I got some great cooking inspiration today, which is banana toron

      The Locals Experience
This was a fun way to spend the afternoon. We loved how it was in a neighborhood outside of tourist areas. We always enjoy having the opportunity to see daily life. The tour was well planned with great commentary. Some of the food was unfamiliar to us, but everyone felt fine afterward. We loved the chance to try the trikes and Jeepney. Ending the day with a local beer was perfect.

      A fantastic experience in Manila
I loved my al fresco cooking class with Chyl. We cooked a range of savoury & sweet snacks - a noodle dish, vegetable roll & banana roll sweets (more than enough food to keep me going for lunch & dinner) - & it was really nice chatting with Chyl about the Philippines & food culture. She also took photos on the day, always great to have as a solo traveller! Can’t wait to recreate these dishes for friends once I’m home

      Enjoyed so much ❤️
Amazing! We get to know how a Pilipino lives day by day. We know what flavours are very common in philippines. We weren’t sure before if we want to do this tour since we already tried some main courses that we didn’t like, but I am glad that we did it. We experienced some of the most common food and I find those enough friendly with people who are stomach sensible. We enjoy some sweets that were delicious

Jian is a great tour guide and really made my experience a memorable one. He was able to effortlessly connect and bring alive the history, the food, the connection to Filipino cuisine and so much more. It was more than just tasting foods; it was a history and cultural tour that tantalized my taste buds and piqued my culinary curiosity. We sampled at least a dozen foods and it was fantastic. As a restaurant professional, the vendors and restaurants we visited served safe and I saw no issues that would concern me to be able to freely sample the dishes. An incredible day to taste so many foods and learn. Thank you, Jian.

I did a food tour with Chloe and honestly it was my favorite experience that I had while in the Philippines! Her and her trainee did an amazing job walking me through the streets of Chinatown explaining the food, history, culture and everyday life in the Philippines. I never would have found all the cool eateries Chloe took me to on my own and everything I tried was delicious and a nice variety. A lot of people say to spend minimal time in Manila, but I disagree. Experiences like this tour make it worth it to spend a few days and soak in the local culture while learning something new. 10/10 recommend this tour and definitely come hungry!

Great tour! Really happy this company accommodates solo travelers, as I was in Manila for a short time and was a little nervous exploring on my own. Jian was a great guide, with lots of gems to share about Filipino food, history and culture. Wide variety of foods to enjoy and everything was delicious! The only troublesome thing at all was timing, as Manila traffic is so unpredictable. Highly recommend!

Jian was a fantastic, knowledgeable guide. His enthusiasm was unwavering as he took the group through Chinatown with delicious food that we would never have discovered without him. He also accommodated all dietary requirements, going out of his way to make sure people could sample everything. Highly recommend

I had a wonderful experience on a tour with Chloe. We ate at delicious hidden gems I certainly wouldn’t have known about on my own. I do wish there’d been a bit more history of the area and the dishes themselves, but highly recommend this tour while you’re visiting Manila - just make sure you pace yourself!

The food selection was excellent- fresh lumpia, empanadas at an old food house, dumplings, noodles - youngest restaurant we visited was 60 years old! That's how long they have been popular! Great guide had really interesting stories.

If you’re curious about Chinese-Filipino cuisine, look no further. Jian runs an amazing 3-hour tour full of delicious food and interesting trivia. We took our 2-year old son, and Jian was accommodating and made sure to adjust the pace to his needs. Highly recommend the fresh dumplings and bean curd rolls!

My husband and I were vacationing in Coron and heard about this great food tour of Chinatown in Manila and that Jian was a terrific guide. We signed up immediately for our return to Manila. Jian communicated thoroughly from the time I inquired about it, days before, to the moment we parted after the tour concluded. He was enthusiastic and eager to teach us all about Chinatown, it’s storied history, culture and the wonderful food. Come hungry! We ate so much food and we enjoyed it all. We stopped at least 5 times (or more) dining on a variety of things. I’m so glad we found out about it. It was much fun!! I highly recommend!!!

This is the second tour I’ve booked with Jian, and I have nothing but great things to say! Jian carefully picks out the food places he takes you to and has such great knowledge of the history and culture of the food. I would recommend this tour to any foreigners who are looking for a genuine and authentic food tour in Manila.

My wife and I did this tour while visiting Manila on business. It was a great experience although we weren’t expecting the sheer amount of different things we were able to sample! All of it was wonderful and we especially enjoyed that we were able to visit some very small family-run places that we probably never would have found let alone visited during our time in Manila. The variety of foods was good as well - we’re fairly adventurous eaters but I think the options offered would still be suitable for more picky tour participants. In my experience, it’s always a good sign when you’re eating at a place that is full of locals too, and that was certainly what we saw throughout the tour. Our tour guide Chloe was amazing and was full of great information about the history of Manila and of the Chinatown itself. In all, we’d certainly do it again and will recommend it to others

Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you and your wife had such a great experience with us while visiting Manila. It’s wonderful that you enjoyed sampling a variety of foods, especially from the small, family-run spots that often go unnoticed by visitors. We strive to offer an authentic local experience, and it’s great to know that even adventurous eaters like yourselves found the variety satisfying, while still being approachable for others. We’re also happy to hear that you appreciated the vibrant, local atmosphere during the tour—there’s no better sign of good food than seeing locals enjoying it too! Chloe will be delighted to hear your kind words about her guiding and insights into the history of Manila and Chinatown. We’d love to welcome you back on another adventure, and thank you for recommending us to others! Safe travels and we hope to see you again soon!
