Must do in Osaka
Feb 2020
This has been one of the highlights on my Osaka trip. Yayo is super nice and fun. She is generous with time and you can see during the lesson that great attention to details has been given. I find that cooking Japanese food is particularly fun compared to other cousines. Great way to taste food at highest quality and learn about culture. Highly recommended.

Best way to learn about a culture is through food. No better way than learning how it’s made. Both kids, 8 and 10, enjoyed our time here. Learn lots and eat lots.

Amazing instructor, fantastic food - highly recommend
We had a wonderful time at this cooking class! Yayo is an excellent instructor and we learned a lot about the local cuisine and traditions. Yayo’s English was very good and we felt very welcomed and comfortable during the class. All the ingredients we used for making the food were very fresh, and the dishes we made were delicious. Definitely come hungry because it’s a lot of food! It was a great time making food with Yayo and Akane! I would highly recommend this experience!

Fun cooking and eating
Four of us took this class and totally enjoyed the hands on and the eating. Yayo met us at the train station and guided us to her home a couple blocks away. Upon entering her home and a brief introduction the cooking was ready to begin. Each of us made the dishes simultaneously. Prepared Miso soup, Dashimaki, Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki, Matcha (powdered green tea) and Taiyaki- a fish shaped sweet waffle. 2 1/2 hours of fun.

Amazing class
I didn't know what to expect with this class other than the fact that Yayo had a great rating on trip advisor. She greeted us on time at the designated spot and we made our way to her apartment. The cooking class itself was very informative and fun. I really enjoyed the Okonomikiyaki specifically. We got to enjoy the company of others and Yayo's dog as well who is super cute. Yayo was amazing and patient with us. I am a horrible cook and worried I wouldn't do something correctly but Yayo made everything easy for us. She sent us home with the recipes and other goodies. It was worth every penny and it was so enjoyable. Thank you Yayo!

Can't miss experience for food lovers!
Aug 2019
We had an absolutely fantastic evening taking Yayo’s cooking class. It was an amazing way to learn about Osaka’s local cuisine and cooking techniques. Yayo is an amazing teacher and provided a fun and welcoming environment for my wife and I. We regularly use the delicious recipes and techniques Yayo taught us in our kitchen at home. This is a can’t miss class for anyone interested in the food and drink of Osaka!
