Overview
Learn to prepare delicious and healthy miso ramen in the heart of Japan's ancient capital! Under the expert guidance of a multilingual Japanese chef, you will use hand forged Japanese knives and traditional tools to create hand-made noodles in a miso ramen soup with pork, egg, green onion and local vegetables. You will pair the main dish with juicy ginger chicken and a spicy cucumber salad and enjoy your creations together with a handmade cocktail (included). This class is hands on, fun and completely delicious!
What to Expect
We will meet you at our traditional wooden house in the Gion neighbourhood (next to the Yasaka Pagoda) and after a welcome drink and short introduction to your tools, your chef and your menu, we will start cooking! We will begin by learning about the professional grade tools we will use to prep our vegetables before moving on to make hand made noodles and a special marinade we will use throughout the class.

Next, we will move on to learning about the delicate blend of ingredients required to create miso ramen soup, which will complete together before preparing a spicy salad and getting our chicken on the fire! Our meals will soon be ready so it will now be time mix yourself a local fruit cocktail and tuck in! You can leave the clean up to us, and head on your way through our beautiful neighbourhood with full stomachs and great memories!

Today, I learned to cook.

I’ll be honest. I’ve lived in Japan for over 4 years and I have never cooked. I have a hard time boiling water to make UFO yakisoba and that usually results in an upside down kitchen. The generally agreement with my wife is she cooks...More

Aya, the chef, is very responsive and has great communication leading up to your reservation. We had a little trouble finding the place... Google Maps has you looking for a place called "Happy Pie," which seems to be a mis-translation of "Happy Bike." The cooking...More
