About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Navigate5445310 contributionsPoor quality of staff and overcharged for being a white EuropeanThe island is in a beautiful location; however, the administration has let it run down somewhat. There was plastic rubbish washing up the beaches and the huts and infrastructure was not well maintained. The staff employed on the island tended to lay around all day and not actually do any visible work. The 'staff' employed at Palompon Island Tours look like modern day pirates and stood around coughing up phlem and constantly spitting up outside the waiting area. This gave a very poor first impression and safety of passengers not convincing. This being said we went ahead with the trip to the Island. I was also charged 10 times more for the ticket than anyone else on the island. I am a westerner. My wife is a Filipina and with her family only paid 50 pesos per head. The boat excursions here at Palompon charged me 500, and didn't seem to think this was a problem... Corruption is endemic in the Philippines and progress will always falter with this attitude. I would not recommend these tours and if you are being charged X10 over the locals, then perhaps you could charter one of the Pam boats further along the coast and negotiate a better price. Please note, whilst I am moaning about myself being overcharged, this is only because my Filippo family live here and know the score. The prices you are being quoted on here at £70 - £100 per head is ridiculous, because 500 pesos is only £8... And £100 is about 7000, 8000 pesos. They are also trying to run a tourist businesses and hate this kind of thing as it puts westerners and other visitors to the country off. Show the vendors this review and make sure you don't get ripped off...Written June 14, 2022

- Steve M0 contributionsParadise IslandWhat an awesome day we spent on Kalanggaman Island. The boat trip out to the island was great and when we arrived it was jaw dropping beauty, something out of a travel brochure. Had a great lunch with our friends and on the way home we even saw dolphins. A truely memorable day.Written March 9, 2020
